I very much appreciate your reporting of the seeming cognitive dissonance of the pro immigration stance of activists which is the general narrative nationally, in mainstream media, and even the Trump Administration BUT the elixir to break the spell of the cognitive dissonance is to call this whole situation EXACTLY what it is: the anti-Constitutional Republic of America / pro-socialist march towards communism. Any sympathy I once had is gone now. Seeing them try to force their way in and that father with his baby on his shoulders participating, is too much for me. I lived in Montana for five years moving from Ontario Canada. I returned after five years because your legal system is a joke. Healthcare is so expensive living in Canada’s way. Better get free healthcare which to me is the number one top thing.Canada has free health care everyone in need can get welfare low income housing the disabled have disabled people a paycheque each month that covers their bills and food costs. I came back when I had my daughter her dad‘s in Montana. I am in Canada now. I lived there for five years and the people are very judgmental. I find and drugs are so much more accessible in the US. Our police are armed as well but they're taught to de-escalate before they pull any weapons, its usually them trying to talk to you and put you at ease if that doesn't work its like pepper spray first or other physical detainment but civilians don't carry guns so there isn't as much of a risk when they're be apprehended by police so they don't need to have such a strong presence, of course there are other ways of intimidation

No one made the social net in Canada for us, we made it for each other. That's democracy. Having said, that, I use the healthcare system as little as possible while others are breaking its back with minor colds, especially since Covid. Fear of lack of healthcare was not the Canadian norm, but seems to have become that way resulting in people destroying a good thing and getting lazier about personal responsibility! For example a friend who was on a legal visa (but continually did visa runs) was ordered by a customs officer to buy a ticket home now or face a 5 year visa ban. He bought a ticket home and self deported.

I can't believe that so many young children can be seen here! That's such a dangerous situation for parents to put them in! Apply for citizenship the right way so you can bring your family safely! Then, when your family is here with proper documentation, you'll be able to raise them in security without fear of deportation. I hate to see children going through this.
