Students just want to come to Canada, once they are here who cares about college or university. They just want to make money so they can send it back to India. This is how our government operates.

Canada has been the down the road of high immigration in the past, erven in the face of housing shortages. This happened right after World War II. To deal with the shortage of rental housing stock then in the large cities, the government put demands on immigrants and refugees to settle in agricultural areas and small town Canada. But, it seems today that most immigrants just want to go to the already overcrowded cities, especially Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. Rural Canada is now facing manpower shortages, but has a fair amount of housing, as many small towns have actually shrunk in population over the years. and could use the people. Immigrants assimilate better in small towns.

Canada is not the same 20 years ago. Right now, there is crime, many refugees with bad habits and manners. It is impossible to get a job and buy a house nowadays, housing is NOT affordable. 100K with 40% pay taxes and a house is 1M? even if you want to buy an appartement, 500K is not affordable. Many people are leaving for this reason, cannot afford living there and have a family period!

These refugees are highly skilled and don't want to go out into the rural areas where their skills are needed. They're just going to where all their people are going - to the big cities. Of course these is a housing problem in big cities. That's to where everyone is going. Liberals are now financing housing in big cities.

People need to understand, Palestinian refugees are unlike any other refugees in the world. Once Palestinian refugees leave Palestine, they are never going back. That is why Palestinians don't want to leave regardless of how much they are suffering. They have learned their lesson from history. What they lost they never gained back. Nonetheless, I still believe that any Palestinian who wants to leave should be able to.

Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

Something tells me they don't want the Refugees. UAE has already stated they did not want them because of the terrorism threat. I totally agree that immigration has been uncontrolled lately, a pause is necessary and students should leave once their work permit expires, but the point is if Canada wants to release the burden off economy, they should first deport/stop refugees and stop sending billion dollar aid to Ukraine. International students boost the economy by bringing foreign investment, paying taxes and not put burden if done in a controlled way. Refugees(not all) who take advantage of the benefits, funding wars eat up the tax payers money. What kind of quality students you are bringing that is another story.

I also am a Canadian born and I don't recognize my country our culture has change, the immigrants are trying to take over our country and not give Canadian artists a chance to preform. What a shame indeed. They should be a shame of themselves and respect our culture. well he did not tell really why. Look at what happen in Jordan and Lebanon because of the PLO. Jordans were forced to take military actions against the PLO to force them to leave, and lebanon got into a civil war that marked them until now. The Gulf states do everything to avoid receiving refugees. Have always done, still do. They don’t want to share the fortunes with other people. Israel absorbed all the Jewish refugees that Syria, Egypt and Jordan expelled in 1948 and 1967, but Jordan and Syria wouldn't take in ethnically Jordanian and Egyptian refugees. Why not? Because as refugees, they can be used as a thirn in the side of Israel.

None of these Arab nations want Gazan refugees & they know why, they just won't say it.

Palestinian refugees went to Jordan, caused so much chaos the Jordanian military tossed them out, they went to Lebanon, managed to destabilize that country, they supported Iraq in the invasion of Kuwait and got tossed out after that. History has shown what happens and Egypt and Saudi Arabia dont want it repeated in their countries

@Harrison, there a bunch of holes in your story an thus superficial or lacking, yet has potential to be more Canadian in that you need to differentiate a bit more, attention in the details that you may have missed, votebank, Punjab province certain cluster of uncouth or gang type, instead of drawing in all religions and races and the best educated like how the US does with it, instead of a votebank cluster, that make up only 3% of the Indian population, yet 50% of Brampton, yet Canada is slower to do such. As I hope you know that, in that in Canada a city doesn’t usually choose newcomers directly factors of, ethnocentrism, pricing, etc are.  \n\nIt was or used to be that newcomers in many cases had to move to less populated centres i.e. in Saskatchewan/Manitoba etc, to help make the place more profitable and big as born Canadians usually didn’t want to move there. While certainly eloquent, he is not being completely honest. They will not take Palestinian refugees for the same reason Egypt will not open the border crossing and Jordan keeps the Palestinian refugees in camps rather than integrating them into Jordanian society. It is because they are a destabilizing factor, and none of these governments want to deal with the extremism that would accompany them. The monarchies in Jordan and Saudi Arabia along with the not-so-stable government in Egypt aren't willing to take that risk.

I remember when all of Toronto was complaining about all the homeless living in the parks and that was before the refugees so what happened back then because the homeless doesn’t like the homeless shelters is because they don’t want to be told what to do and what time to come and what time to go to bedand a lot of the refugees that apply for the refugee system. Try to hurry up and get off the system and get a job and start working, but these Canadian homeless have been homeless for a long time begging for a long time.

The Arab nations knows history very well, especially the Jordanians and the Lebanese, they take a lot of Palestinian refugees before, but look what happened, King Abdullah almost lost his control of Jordan because the PLA started to revolt against him even Jordan openly welcomed the Palestinians to seek refuge after Israel boot them out in 1948 and thats how they rewarded Jordan for keeping them. Lebanon is the Paris of the Middle east, not until PLA that's were kick out from Jordan started to mingle in Lebanons internal affairs and the civil war happened and look what happened to Lebanon. Arab can help the Palestinians in a great way, but knowing the history of Palestinians, they don't want to repeat what Jordan and Lebanon did before, and that is to take Palestinian refugees.

Obviously if there were no other option left we’d take Palestinians and we should if there will be no survivors any other way. But, this wasn’t an earthquake. This wasn’t a flood. These are human actions that can and should be immediately stopped so that people aren’t forced to lose their homeland permanently on top of everything else they lost. The South Africans floated the idea of refugees early on, and has already taken some along with Europe. The problem is, we tried considering that route. The Palestinians are right to not want to be a forced migrant in a land that hates them, they’re right to want to keep their homes.

I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. To come back to be asked to go home or 'we don't want your sort here' is not just simple racism, but hatred that makes me regret ever having agreed to taking on Canadian citizenship. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? What disgusts me more is that the PM dares to include immigrants with refugees, under the banner that 30% of the population are immigrants. Under the law, refugees are temporary migrants and usually nothing more. To bundle immigrants who came to Canada through legal means of applications, brought hundreds of millions dollars into Canada with them of their own hard-earned money from their own countries, to have it taxed out of them, and their families deliberately put into poverty so Canada can fulfil its 19th century-PM Macdonald immigration policy of, and I quote from a Canadian federal government website, quoting PM Macdonald directly, about breeding out the Indigeneous people, is beyond sick! The refugees get a free ride at the expense of hard-working Canadians, 90% of whom came from immigrant stock! What happens when Trudeau says these deceitful lies about legal immigrants is that the racism and discrimination increases dramatically. I have been left in agony in hospital due to evil racist Canadians who thought that my accent meant that I had just flown in yesterday and what right did I have to be there? I have been honored to have known, still know, and will know in the future, many good, hard-working, caring and decent Canadians, but Mr. Trudeau, can you explain to me, how many of those were actually of immigrant stock and how many have forgotten where their families came from? Canada used to be a good country, but when a person has to keep explaining where they got their job experience from and if they have any Canadian experience for every time that they look for a job in their lifetime in Canada, something is very wrong with Canada. Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. And no doubt this entry will be taken down because it offends a Canadian who doesn't want the world to know the truth.
