I am so proud of Canada. The rest of the world needs to step in here. Start putting tariffs on the United States and sanction Trump musk and any Republican that stands with them. Come on the world. The American people need a push to get rid of trump Canada. The true Americans love you guys

I think Trumps secret plan is to bankrupt USA because its in the interest of Russia. I have come to believe he is a secret Russian spy put in place to destroy as much as he can. The reason is that Putin has some kind of dirty secret on him that he desperately does not want to come out or That he owes him a lot of money and the Russian mob will kill him if he does not follow the plan Russia have set in motion. If the US does not wake up he will sell their country.

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

So he's so upset that Trump's tariffs will cause inflation in the US and hurt US consumers, that he decides to penalize his own people with tariffs, making them pay higher prices and thereby cause inflation in Canada?? LOL, this proves yet again that the left has no clue when it comes to economics .

The people who supported Trump will never be forgiven. You just made life harder for both Americans and Canadians and I’m sure you’ll soon come crying about how life is sooo much harder and how you couldn’t have possibly known this could’ve happened. Trump wants to be one of the handful of large, powerful autocracies in the world, he will continue provoking democratic allies to create strawman excuses to engage in conflict with and cede from them and look for any excuses to invade/annex, and in the end he most likely believes he has the power to compete with and overpower other autocracies. In the end, he sees them as the winners in the race of countries and he wants to be top dog over them, too. By consolidating wealth, industry/resources, control of information and technology - with his past attacks against the military - will it be any surprise if plans come to light of intentions to build a private army?

The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

The ChiComs, working with their Liberal minions, have made sure that any election will be rigged. Trump is trying to save Canada because he will send Troops into Canada to eject the Chinese military. He wants to do it with laws by getting Canada to join the USA. If that does not happen, he will use the military to do it, and Canada will be seen as the enemy of the USA allied with China. Trudeau admitted that without the welfare the USA has been providing to Canada, your economy will collapse. The Bank of Canada is bankrupt. The Canadian dollar is about to collapse. How will you feel next year when you need two dollars to buy what one dollar buys now? And plan on having fewer dollars to start with because your carbon tax, your sales tax, your income tax are all going up. WAY up. This is what happens when you decide to compete with a USA that is unshackled. The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? No. You gave us the finger and said f&$k you to Trump. We hear you Canada. But now is not the time for pain, that comes later.

Hey Donald Trump just in case you missed it you are One of the most hated people on the planet. You are the definition of Pathetic human being . You care for only for two things yourself and money . the current trade deal with Canada and Mexico is something trump bragged about when he negotiated & signed it 6 years ago. Trump called it the USCMA. Less than 1% of fentanyl comes across the northern US border. we can't refine light crude oil we pull out of the ground here so we buy more than 50% of our heavy crude oil and natural gas from Canada. Canada will turn off the pipes and sell the heavy oil and NG to Europe. The second oil supply was Mexico who plans to sell their oil in Europe too. It will be extra cold in the midwest and east coast this winter without fuel oil.

Trump and his financial masters are knowingly tanking the American economy in order to lower stock prices so the $Billionaires/£Millionaires can buy those stocks and make even BIGGER profits for themselves while everyone suffers. It's like the J.D. Rockefeller family on steroids x 10. There is a NEW WORLD order coming and it's being orchestrated by the Government.

So much for Trump lies that Trudeau came begging him. We are watching Jesus's prophecy of Matthew 24 come to life. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdoms to war.

Prime Minister Trudeau is boldly hitting the nails on the head, and I admire his boldness and honesty as I've always admired Canada and its peoples. Trudeau promised Trump to work on the drug issue, but I guess he did not if we are seeing the significant import tax on Canada now. I live in Nashville, TN USA. I am so sorry Canada is suffering due to Trump. I do not support this move on Trump's part. I never voted for him. I have known for many years he is a dangerous narcissist. Canada is our friend. You have come to our aide in times of trouble. Our forest fires, 911 when the planes hit our twin towers. Trump wants a 4.5 Trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthy. He sees tariffs as a way to make up some of that money alone with huge budget cuts to many of our programs.
