This is not enough. The immigration rules and policies need a complete overhaul. Here are some thoughts - 1) Stop issuing PRs to unskilled workers by revising the point system and tightening eligibility criteria. 2) do not grant PR to old parents until their child has become a citizen. they should not be allowed to work for more than 10 hours a week. 3) Limit social security benefits for immigrants during their first three years, allowing only essential healthcare for critical issues. 4) Halt the practice of granting easy citizenship. Extraordinary talent should be eligible for citizenship after three years, while others should only qualify after paying taxes for five years within the last ten. 5) Stop issuing LMIAs that are quite frequently misused for cheap labor. 6) Restrict work permits to a maximum of 5K per year until demand increases. 6)Limit the number of refugees to no more than 10K per year. In addition to these points, all existing loopholes must be closed.

I'm a white Canadian Nurse. This fellow spoke very well. I've always been pro immigration to mesh cultures and increase the population of this huge Country. However, in the past few years I'm made aware of the increasing violent gangs, theft, plagiarism, dishonesty, Indians getting managerial positions then only hiring Indians, cheating in schools, fabricated names.\nI have a rental and there was a time I chose what I thought a wonderful young Indian couple over 25 others looking. It's shocking to me when my 6 year old nephew understands better how to manage population, unemployment, and immigration better than the entire Liberal party. And his experience is basically Cities: Skylines and Sim City.

Love immigration but hate tax funded Temp workers . Bad deal for Temp workers and very bad deal for Canada. Young people , seniors who needs a few hours to make ends meet, people living outside cities, adults returning to work , uneducated but hard working folks , disabled people and others are unable to find work . I have a similar background as I immigrated to Canada when I was 6 years old. I haven't travelled across 50 countries like Alina but I'm well travelled and Canada is still, in my opinion, the best country in the world. Besides the strong passport and political stability Alina mentioned, Canadians also benefit from the great healthcare system, environmental protections, capital markets, educational system, labour standards, etc. This country has afforded me a wonderful career that allowed me to build wealth while giving me substantial financial flexibility and freedoms. Canada is not perfect but I'm so grateful to my parents for moving us here.

As a 42 year old Canadian (born & raised).. lived in Northeastern Ontario my entire life. Canada is unrecognizable. I miss the country I grew up in. Heck, I'd even take a version of the country I can vividly remember from a mere 20 years ago. With how inflation, homelessness, immigration and leftist/globalist policies have destroyed Canada, my partner and I are doing our research in hopes of finding a better country to live in. Even the US (despite its downsides) is a much better country to live in (financially)..

Leaving may solve your problems but only for very short time, because whatever place you end up in, it may be no better, and good deal worse, since you won't be a citizen there. Canada has really gone downhill and is getting very creepy, viz. lack of freedom of speech, tyrannical government, mass immigration, etc. Look at the bright side though, at least they still let you leave, unlike say in the old Soviet Union. I lived in Germany for my masters and found it to be one of the most hostile and aggressive places to land yourself in. I made up my mind at the end of the first year to leave this land forever after my masters, to never come back. We've had the USA madly printing money which stokes inflation as well as predatory global corporate cartels using covid as an excuse to collude on raising prices and boosting corporate profits. Then we have US and British corporations using countries like Canada and Australia as cheap mine sites. Finally, we have the property Ponzi scheme which keeps housing out of the reach of young people. In both Canada and Australia, the birth rate has fallen because young people cannot afford to have kids. Both countries maintain their population level via immigration but that con is now falling apart because migrants can see that the game is rigged. Canada and Australia both produce a huge amount of wealth but it doesn't flow to young folks. Old folks who have fat investment portfolios don't want to rock the boat but, by their inaction, they're throwing their country's future under the bus. It's no mystery as to where this path leads. Just take a look at the catastrophically low birth rate in South Korea. Look at Italy with its falling population.

Alina...you sound so much like your Dad. I hear you. It's tough for all of us to make a go of it now in Canada. My family's roots are all from Saskatchewan. They were farmers old time style with sections of land . \nOriginally from Sweden they immigrated from. When you are young it's easier to pickup and go elsewhere. So I am curious about your Dad and Mom? What do they think about your decision to do this?

From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. People do not know they have no biological ownership of their children, because I guess few Canadians value their children to care about their own laws. But these laws also apply to immigrants too. What money was taken from me during the move and resettlement, the government takes by creating more expenses for me than I could ever imagine or budget for. Emotionally, I am a wreck. Rather than commencing my writing career, I have been seeking low-income lawyers, reading the provincial law on Youth Protection, filing complaints within a circular system (the watchdog is part of the system not outside of it) and preparing all evidence to prove I have done nothing wrong [just like in communist rule]. Have you ever given any thought to the difficulties in proving your innocence? \nNO ONESEEMS AWARE OF THIS DETERENT TO BRINGING CHILDREN TO CANADA. NO ONE. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I COULD NOT PLAN FOR. All other complaints like the economy, or the weather, or inflation I have survived. But taking away my child, my reason to settle in Canada for a life of freedom for her, my legacy, was unthinkable. People ask me in this small village where is my daughter. Their rosy cheeks become snow white when I tell them. Canadians here are unaware and scared like cattle in a thunder storm. Many are addicted to welfare payments, cannabis, prescription drugs, and television. They all seem to be waiting in a pen of fear. I think that is self evident. Come and spend a day on public transportation in LA SALLE QUE.or in a general hospital. These people are not immigrants of old vetted in health , character etc.

As a 32 year old male born in Kitchener, Ontario. This mass immigration is killing our country. With so many immigrants from India that (as a whole, not every Indian) do NOT assimilate to Canada and our culture has us pretty upset. It’s making our housing crisis worse and killing our economy. So there is no reason to tie and blame the Indians for our old problem of homeless population. Stay on point and stop tying it down with non-related issues.

Zero-net population growth or very slow growth is desirable for a host of reasons. Immigration is not inherently a virtue. Not inherently a vice either. Its value depends entirely upon the context in which it is taking place. Here are some reasons why Canada should reduce immigration to achieve eventual zero-net population growth.\n\n(1) The ecology: Canada is possibly the world's worst country per capita in producing waste – certainly among the worst. (a) As of now we have a population of 40 million. At its present rate of growth our population will reach 50 million in 2041. This will require a 20% reduction in waste production per capita simply to keep waste production at the present level. This reduction will not happen. (b) In addition, freshwater resources cannot be expanded at all, really (desalinization can only produce a drop in the bucket). Hence, look for shortfalls in water availability. (c) From a global perspective, it is the rich countries, such as Canada, that pollute the most, both absolutely and on a per capita basis. Therefore rich countries should not increase their populations. Immigrants do not come to rich countries to be better ecologists than the citizens of those countries. Immigrants to Canada want to live like Canadians, as Canadians. The problem here is not that they will not assimilate to Canadian ways, but that they will. \n\n(2) Housing: with 500,000 new immigrants a year, housing starts cannot keep pace. The result: ever-inflating housing costs. Rich immigrants compound the problem. \n\n(3) Suburbanization: most of the new housing in Canada is in highway suburbs (over 80%), with their car-driven way of life. Once again, this is bad for the country’s ecological health. In addition, the result will be ever-growing geographies of nowhere. We will not be creating more Victorias or Quebec Cities. We will be creating more Surreys. \n\n(4) Downward pressure on the incomes of most people: the law of supply and demand is very simple: when there is a surplus of any commodity, that commodity becomes cheaper. When a commodity is scarce, its value rises. Labor is a commodity. Workers rightly do not want there to be a surplus of labor. Their livelihoods are threatened. \n\n(5) Future care of the old: the more people we add now, the more people we will have to take care of later, when their working lives are done. Adding immigrants now to pay for the care of the old is therefore a pyramid scheme. Eventually, in a generation or two, the population of the world is set to decline, and the well of immigrants will run dry. Canada should aim for fewer, rather than more, retirees – as preparation for that coming moment.

Bernhard needs to perform an in depth examination into the push/pull factors associated with migration. He needs to be more objective in his analysis of the impact of immigration and its relationship to public and private services. Even though his organization does a decent job of integrating immigrants, their limited focus on the principles that attract people and understand that the services available are limited instead of blaming policies that are decades old.

One thing never mentioned in the video is that the type of immigrants being brought in now, they are not the same as the old immigrants. Back then, the immigrants were actual skilled workers and builders. Now they are all uber eats guys, or they live off the government.
