Over the last couple of years, a lot of Canadians have lost respect for this man, but I must give credit where it’s due. He did a remarkable job articulating what’s going on, and what to expect. United we stand! ??

Canadian here(Quebec) I feel sad for all the Whiskey industries in Kentucky, those workers didn't deserved the counter-effects of the tarifs. Everything can be done with respect & diplomacy, but it's not the road President Trump took. Canadians are polite and brave people mad respect

As an American, I've been trying to work out in Alberta as a Pipe Insulator for over five years with no response, but you guys let in other foreign nations. How about you give the people in the US citizenship if we are seeking refuge. I want out of this crappy over priced country more than you know, and all of my Canadian friends have way more respect, values and integrity that the people in the 40's 50's 60..etc used to have in this country. Imagine if Trudeau announced that he would be pausing the carbon tax on the Canadian people to help offset some of the costs imposed on us by the United States. I have so much respect for the Canadians! You do what you have to do to protect your country, it used to be the American way too! I am Canadian, and I want to speak to the USA, as a concerned citizen who valued the relationship that we once had between our two countries: please realize that we do NOT want to declare this as any form of “attack”, that these are solely defensive measures against your current administration’s lack of respect towards us as a people and as a country. \n\nPlease rest assured that we KNOW that not all of you voted for Trump, that there are those of you who realize what your current president is truly doing and do not support it. This is NOT about fentanyl. This NOT about money and how much each country was giving whom. We had a respectable trade deal that we were following, previously signed by Trump. We have always had a positive relationship together, business-wise and friendship-wise. Please also realize that, once your administration is no longer in control of our narratives in such a destructive manner, or it gets replaced by one that reverses this destructive policy, we will definitely reconsider our former relationship and we will work towards rebuilding it. \n\nIt is unfortunate for both sides here. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

As a Finnish guy living in Germany I am so glad to hear PM Mr Trudeau´s speech. There are mighty many people around the world who respect and love each other, and try to keep to do so. Chapeau Canadians!! And, the EU is not to screw the US, it never was.

I am an American, but my Ancestors were French Canadians who immigrated to Montpelier, Vermont at the turn of the 20th century. Your support in wanting the best for both of our countries makes me so proud of my roots. Charlie Angus as well as Justin Trudeau have integrity and are willing and able to fight for what is right. Please know you are a highly respected nation by most of the people in this country. I have always been so proud of my country, but am now so embarrassed and deeply troubled.
