Trudeau just did it again. Instead of warning people who try to abuse the system, he pushy foots around and says Canada has a moral obligation to accept every one of them. Well, that is once again yet another invitation to come on over and abuse the Canadian immigration system because we won't kick you out. Trudeau needs to keep his damn mouth shut. It's safe to say 15k of student asylum seekers will now swell to hundreds of thousands as they all follow since trudeau just guaranteed them permanent residency

This isn't new. International students pay more to attend our universities, and always have. That's why universities prefer international students over Canadian citizens. As far as claiming asylum...big deal. That's been happening ever since Europeans came here, especially the white waves after WW's 1&2. Now, descendants of those people, are saying 'no more immigration'.

They are not ‘international students’ they are illegal immigrants. When they applied for students visa in India or Bangladesh they did not have any reason for asylum.

They are seeking asylum from the massive debts they have accumulated in their country. Most were enticed by dubious immigration consultants to risk it all for an uncertain fate in Canada. I dont know what to tell them.....?

Being an Immigrant who came here myself through point system should not allow asylum seekers

Former Liberals Immigration minister Sean Fraser broke our immigration. Now 13k international students , ( probably 95 percent from India ) applied asylum status. These fake asylum applicants know our current immigration is a JOKE and they are taking advantage of the system. “Welcome to Trudeau Liberals broken Immigration”

Just so people understand how we live.. I'm a disabled person who lost my leg working for the government and was put on a pension that gives me 19k a year.. my rent is 18k a year.. an asylum. Seeker or immigrant receives 62k per year I have one asylum Seekers living with me. And dosent work and makes more them my that works full time even though I can't walk and he get to drive around in a new car and send money home to take care of his family back home n sends money back to get more family members here to get more money

Guys for everyone watching this, its only Punjab & Haryana protesting here because they are desperate for a Canadian PR or Canadian Asylum....most of India isn't even here. I'm a student myself and because of these folks its getting hard for genuine people to get a stay back. Close all the study abroad centers, IELTS centers and scam immigration from Punjab. They have ruined the name of Indians here.

They come here to seek asylum they say to get away from the brutal life in Islamic countries and then try to recreate the place they left in the western countries. Does this not seem odd to our Western leaders who condone this mass immigration by people who hate us?

It’s not about mass immigration or asylum seeker the real issue is international students from India that’s what cause these issues. If you research immigration and asylum seeker the numbers are so low compare to Indian international students! Canada should prioritize those who life in danger due war or crisis first but since international students generate so much revenue they rather make things easier for them that’s why you see Indian international students….

Germany has love for immigrants, asylum seekers and cheap labour not skilled labour that's why 70% of skilled workers have left Germany for USA.

In the past when immigration controls were stricter, the country attracted only highly educated individuals with decent backgrounds. While some less-educated people did manage to immigrate during that time, many of them were asylum seekers without much influence over the system. However, with the recent relaxation of immigration policies, a significant number of uneducated and less-educated immigrants have been migrating. This shift is contributing to certain issues, as these individuals often lack the language and job skills necessary to integrate into society independently. As a result, they tend to form concentrated communities, such as in Brampton. Additionally, various loopholes in the immigration system are making it easier for low-skilled immigrants to enter into the country. This is not a problem pertaining to Indians, there are others too, but they don't get focus due to their low numbers.

They do not go to school. They work 100 hrs a week illegally. There are people seeking asylum and work for cash or hang out in Bangla Town in Danforth Avenue, Scarborough. Immigration Canada should walk there and catch them without papers.

I was never racist or taught to see people of other ethnicities or religions as inferior so I don't hate Indians, nor do I show them disrespect unless warranted but the rampant abuse of our systems has messed up so many things. I know of large families of Indians who came as asylum seekers who'd come over separately while claiming different names so when they all come together some families are getting $30k or more per month just for being here. They drive expensive new luxury vehicles and mostly wear expensive designer clothes and are given homes while at the same time us Canadians born and raised here are struggling to even get to eat well every day or have a home to begin with. It's not entirely the fault of Indians, the blame also needs to be shared by our gov't as well since they opened the borders and have mostly waived the process of vetting who comes into our country. It's never a bad thing to have people who genuinely add to the collective greatness of a country but we have let in too many freeloaders and even criminals, the Indian gangs extorting businesses for millions in BC and Alberta for example. Nothing wrong with Indian immigrants as long as we can balance the needs and safety of everyone involved as well. Right now there is no balance and the results are catastrophic. Canada never used to be host to so much divide and hatred as it is now, we can thank Trudeau and his people for that.

As a 1st generation immigrant born in Canada. My parents migrated legally to Canada. From South Asia. Indians ruined all type of industries here. They all come with tourist or student visa and claims asylum and breaking our system on our tax dollars. I want them all out.

Its not true that they are victims of fraud. The illegal immigrants know everything before moving to the western countries. They pay big money to agents in India and move to other countries. Many claim that they were victims of persecution in India thats why they want to seek asylum. Some people travel on student visa claiming to be students even though most of are married with kids. \nThis is a good move by the Canadian government.

What happened Canada?? When India said to stop giving asylum to radical extremists , when India said to screen immigrants better you said India is the new Mossad , India is unlawfully butting in your matter.\n You get what you deserve. It's too little too late for you.

Regardless of what the goal is, it is destroying Canada. We need a 30 year ban not a limit, on all immigration, asylum seekers, refugees, student/ worker permits. Invest in Canadians, we want livable hours and wages with benefits!

Please Don’t blame Indian people, blame Canada’s government. Indian people come with Education and money. Yes we have our own culture and own language but we also like Canadian people and their culture. Compare to refugees, Indians work hard, get education here, pay fees in colleges, earn work permit and then pass English exam and then get PR and then citizenship. All western countries (except maybe Hungary) have the same problems. Canada was always being touted as a liberal paradise--like Sweden.\n\nNow Sweden is shutting its doors to asylum seekers.\n\nCanada will have to do the same. It has one advantage--most immigrants would rather move to the US--so they see Canada as a stepping stone to the US. It's too cold for most third worlders.

This video is actually a bit mystifying, as it shows 2 persons who are planning to stay here and only 1 person who is planning to leave. While statisticaly at least half of immigrants aren’t staying here for longer than 2 - 5 years, not accounting for asylum seekers.

On the one hand GER says it need skilled labour, but on the other hand they create a very unattractive environemt for such people. Thenin total disregard for their actual needs, they do everything to attract unskilled people from around the world as asylum seekers, which creates an even greater burden on bureacracy (which in itself is a burden, that GER created for itself) and the welfare system. Additionally, they miss their mark for new homes built by ~ 50%. \n\nAll that, in combination with increasing crime rates creates a growing resentment against immigration by the german people, which then deters the skilled people, which we actually need from coming to GER.\n\nGER could be great, if it would let itself do, what it does best. Be organized, deliver quality and be crafty. However, GER has currently an ideological issue, which prevents it from pursuing a rational strategy. Unfortunately, our current path just leads in the opposite direction, where we should actually head.

Okay. To begin with, being white does not automatically make one Canadian. Immigration is the foundation of Canada; it is all about which generation of immigrant you are. The one mistake Canada made was to accept an excessive number of immigrants and students during a short period of time. This allowed students to work full-time employment, defeating the purpose of student visas. Why is no one discussing asylum seekers or refugees, which has made matters worse? All amenities, housing, etc., are provided to refugees using taxpayer funds. The money paid by taxpayers is meant to be used by those who made the tax payments. \n\nAll legal immigrants pay substantial fees and continue to pay taxes while they are employed, none of which has an impact on the economy. \n\nEmployers always give preference to Canadians with the necessary abilities over immigrants, even if the latter have higher skill levels. Despite having excellent credentials and expertise, I was not selected for any interview because I am not Canadian. Thus, give up lying and acting like the victim. Concentrate on the real issue. You are the preferred candidate for any employer if you are Canadian and meet the requirements.

Everyone's an asylum seeker these days if there are better opportunities elsewhere. The vast majority are just illegal immigrants trying to get a leg up.

Agree with the mass immigration has screwed things up...I am PR turned Canadian citizen now....the things are gone worse in last 2 years....I am not against immigration as I am PR immigrant too...certainly Canada needs skilled workers but the things getting worse by mass immigration masking skilled work immigration...Woking hard contributing to the society and country all it matters...but I can't see all my tax money going to refugees and asylums....this should stop.. immigration needs to be halted and country should go to repair mode else it would a let down for future generations and there is no stop for Canadians migrating to other countries for better life...india thought culture to the world...whats going wrong...respecting culture and people is what we indians are...

I lived in Germany for my masters and found it to be one of the most hostile and aggressive places to land yourself in. I made up my mind at the end of the first year to leave this land forever after my masters, to never come back. This country needs a lot of skilled immigrants but the society is not ready yet and that you-know-what-I-mean feeling from age-old times still runs deep. It only deserves unskilled asylum seekers.

Do you know why you have to accept anyone asking for asylum ? Because of that funny event when Jews fleeing the Nazis were sent back to Germany before WWII. So for that never happening again they created this international law. That is not the same as immigration. You should read more.

As a white male could I migrate to another country and request politcal asylum; because if you think about it this Canadian government oppresses white males and some females with their employment equity DEI laws, mass Asian immigration, and cheap temp foreign labour. Getting asylum seeker is an international responsibility, but only the west is doing it. illegal immigrants.

Lumping asylum seeking with immigration is a diservice. Asylum seekers usually have their life at risk back home. Slowing family or work visas is another story.

It is fairly simple. If you want to compete with the US and Australia for skilled immigrants, switch to the default language of the world. Else, compete with dying economies like France and Japan.\nStop treating top talents like asylum seekers.

When a country is at war, the refugee population will be majority women and children. This is a statistical absolute. See Ukraine. \nEconomic migration follows a different but well traveled pattern: men go alone, establish themselves, and send for family when they are able. \nYet, we see that the Middle East and African asylum seekers are overwhelmingly young single men. They are not feeling war, they are seeking to improve their economic situation. The problems is that they are posing as refugees, and the resources and good will that are meant for refugees ate diverted to the imposter's.\nIt naturally angers people. Canadian immigration is a joke. I earned a masters here from a reputed university, spent so much time and money, 6 years later I became a permanent resident. I was so grateful. Now, anyone with a sob story in the name of “persecution” can just come here and actually get government money for a good while to settle in. And now, we have entire flight crews just simply “claiming” asylum. The government has made everyone who took the right channels, faced so many hardships in the way are effing losers who could’ve just gotten in through the many bogus channels. i love this country, but it has gone to the dogs steadily since 2015.
