I don’t agree with Trump but I’m trying to understand this….So he (Trudeau) punishes his own nation with carbon tariffs then tells his nation how tough it’s gonna be now that a foreign president applies tariffs…I’m sorry I just don’t get it…instead of starting a fight that will hurt us even more, why don’t he just let go of the carbon tax to help the suffering…\nIs he actually care or is it just politics ?

I'm from UK and live and work in Hong Kong. All I can say is well spoken Mr Trudeau. Donald is supporting a dictator by allowing him to steal 20% of Ukraine and now destroyed his closest friendships. This is going to be pivotal as the rest of the world trade with each other, form their own co-operation and cease to abide by WTO rules.

I'm from the Netherlands, Canada you rock! We stand by you and Ukraine ?. We planned a family vacation to America this year and after the fight with Zelenski we annuled it immediately. I’m a dual citizen of the USA and the UK and have been so disgusted by Trump, he projects evil, he’s smarmy and egotistical. I just don’t understand how many of my American friends act like he’s right up there with God, I just can’t fathom their thinking. It’s all about taking ownership of anything he wants and he bullies until he gets what he wants. I’m sick of people saying Pres Zelenskyy needs to apology to Trump, Zelenskyy did nothing wrong, he was calm and polite. Vance and Trump immediately went in on the attack, both bullies! Then to moan about Zelenskyy offending the Oval Office by not wearing a suit. Have they looked at Musk lately? Don’t know what he’s wearing but it ain’t no suit. During war times leaders often wear combat clothes to show they are with their country and soldiers. I must say I wouldn’t be upset if anyone popped him off! He does need to go.

I'm fully convinced now that Trump and Putin are complicit in these tariffs. The outcomes of these tariffs divide us from our allies, weaken the US economy, foment unrest, and create suffering and economic severity in the population. Yes, these tariffs do not make sense until one realizes who is driving them. These are Putin's objectives. Trump has been compromised, and Musk noticed a great buying opportunity. It was either go to jail, or be bought. And he sold us all down the river.

Trudeau's words are smoke and mirrors a bit imo. Liberals will go forward with an additional 20% carbon tax dispitie the tariffs occurring. Trump isn't the only one that is harming Canada in one way or another. Trump is forcing Canada to do better with our borders and crisis's that had not been addressed quickly enough. We (Canada) allowed these issues to get out of hand and it took another country to tell us that we needed to do better because the issues affect them as well. I'm stating facts here and now we Canadians will suffer for all of it.

I'm going to disagree with Trudeau on one critical point, Donald Jackass Trump is NOT a smart man. If he was, this wouldn't even be happening.

I’m a 53 year old Canadian. I went to college on an athletic scholarship & lived there for 10 years after turned professional in my sport. Why, why, why - with all the problems going on in the world right now to tackle - why would you want to start a trade war with your closest trading partner & most loyal ally? Not to mention that your list of Allies is shrinking daily. This is not going to end well for either of us. \nI just arrived home from a trip to the grocery store - making sure nothing in my cart said “ made in the USA” on it due to the new tariffs that began today. \nThe irony is, many of the states where Trump won by the biggest margin, are the states that are going to get hit the hardest from Canadian retaliation tariffs ( Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, the Dakotas - just to name a few). A lot of farmers in those states are going to be hit extremely hard with the fertilizer tax. After Canada, the next 3 largest Potash producers are Russia, Belarus & China. So , good luck \nWhen the cost of fruit & vegetables skyrocket across the US. Maybe you’ll put a little more thought into your vote 4 years from now.

I’m going to say what most of us have figured out but no one wants to say out loud because we are afraid. The orange Cheeto is crazy but he will invade us for our minerals and fresh water. He will get his little friend to invade us from the North. And we will be helpless because as much as ordinary people have pledged their support, no country on the planet, including the Commonwealth, will come to our aid because the US has so much military might. We’re toast.

Trudeau in the first 10 seconds already opens with a lie. Trump never said he’s going to “appease” Putin. He is (and I note I don’t see Canada getting involved) negotiating a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. That means both sides are going to want something out of that deal in order to sign it. But I’m not surprised with Trudeau deliberately spouting disinformation, it’s a national sport for him.

I can't believe he is siding with Russia. I don't get why he would want to risk having Canada as a potential enemy. I'm not sure to what extent, but still. I don't know much about politics but I hope for our sake, this isn't permanent. Why do that to an ally that we have been working with together for decades? Makes no sense. That's the thing, though. Every country should be responsible for their own goods. The day we start relying on other countries for what we need we're in a heck of a mess. Because China couldn't get our merchandise to our plant we had to shut down for almost a month. We messed up sending some of our work to China. After this we got everything in the US. Cheaper prices are not the solution. Cheaper labor is not the answer. Trump is concerned about the drugs coming into our country and since the borders are affected these drugs will be coming into our country many other ways. You know where criminals go to get out of the US. Canada. Trump is doing this for our country and you can bet on this. I'm sick of drugs in our country killing people everyday. I'm sick of guns but just about every household owns guns. Children are killed in their own homes with guns. Who cares about alcohol being sold in their state. Honestly. People are homeless because of addiction to alcohol. Yeah saying president Trump using fentanyl for this for this trade war was a bad move. President Trump is doing this for the drugs taking over this country.
