Im an American and I support President Trump. to the leaders of Canada, have you brought your very best to the negotiating table? no one wants tariffs, but we also want fair trade.

We now have the BABA principle in Canada, irrespective of tariffs: Buy Anything But American!!! We're also cancelling our US holidays. Mexico and the EU can have our money.

I don't think the US has any friends anymore all because of one person and his thuggy support group. I can't imagine putting anybody more anti American in the presidency. Also Donald is and idiot.

Tariffs just end up hurting the final consumer, Trump needs to implement measures that promote American growth and American Industries but not hurting the final consumer. Also Russia is the aggressor and needs to pay for all the destruction it has caused so far and economic impact !!

As a Trump supporter and a Trudeau detractor, it is becoming more obvious to me that this threat of tariffs has become Trumps way of bullying Canadians into becoming the 51st state. I also believe at the same time, Trudeau has finally grown a set of balls because he is on his way out. That being said, my respect for “Donald” is falling off. as a Canadian, all I can say is Trump has galvanized our nation not to take up arms, but not to ever capitulate to a bully. But I especially appreciate seeing all the people from around the world are standing with us, and that also includes americans that are equally upset by their president’s behavior.

As an American, I don’t watch CNN clips and believe what politicians say on either side to get my news. However, it’s absolutely true that EU, and China places tariffs on the US. It is also true that United States provide most of the security for all the free nations. At what point do we say enough? I do not know if Mexico or Canada has tariffs on US goods before this. But if they did, they have become quite entitled, haven’t they.

Canada is a leader and raw model of the free world, followed by Mexico, as a former US citizen I’m terrible ashamed for what happened regarding the Tarifs and the shameful behavior in the Oval Office. As a European we support Canada and México,. We will also boycott American products.

i hope you can stand the eventuality and significant economic and interpersonal effect this will promote. i agree principally with none of this, its unnecessary and extremist in leaning. but i can stand it and saw this ahead of time as eventual. my question is can you stand these economic effects . did they ask you on the campaign trail? well . i also suspect as an independent that we will be both affected and tested. Consider those in power in government and big business who see to these situations becoming realities for American citizens , remember they live in mansions and have generational wealth. they can lose billions and withstand it. They will not now or ever feel the effects of their poorly thought through actions. we will. we will have to. I'll never ask anyone to do something i wont.i suspect our leading majority which i came from formerly up until this point wont balance this situation. keep that in mind.

I’m Canadian but lived in the US for 12 years. Trump keeps moving the goal post. This is bullying, plain and simple. Do not yield, Canada. You yield to a bully and he’ll keep taking and taking. I know my people of the north are strong and they know the hardships ahead are worth it for the greater good. But I also know my friends here in the US are largely in Canada’s favor and for that I am thankful. President Trump does not speak for all Americans.

This is how a leader should speak. He speaks with sincerity and with clarity. He doesnt speak broadly just to an entire audience. He speaks to each group of people that this is concerning to, and making sure we understand the magnitude of this situation. He adjusts how he speak to each group, and also to our sad president. I cant imagine the months to come. People are already struggling, and are divided so much more that Americans are not siding with each other, but siding with Canada and Mexico who have been so patient and understanding with us. We need to stand up against our president to stop this isolation and division. We are already divided in our country. I can't stand to see we are starting to be divided globally. This will litterally shrink our economy and our opportunities. Not only that, it puts our national security in peril. We need to do better to work together in harmony.

If people think that these characters with their wicked decisions bring prosperity and peace, the biggest work must be done on the people who choose them, not on those who have been chosen. That said, it blows me away that Trump was so vociferous about the Lawfare that was lined up against him in 2023-24, but he doesn't see that excess use of the power of the State is wrong and immoral in this Canadian and Mexican case. The Tariffs will drive very bad business outcomes in the US. Including, inflation, and lost jobs. The Stock Markets are already tanking. Canada must receive its spanking, and Donald will have to save face. What I have loved most about the stupidity of Trump, his government and his supporters is that it has brought Europe and the commonwealth together. It’s made citizens of each country unite together at a time that there was so much division especially in Europe. People across the world boycotting the USA to show their, disgust, hit them where it hurts, supporting other business and bolstering our own economies, in doing so also supporting those Americans that did not vote for this. So much good coming from this.

I’m sooo tired of foreign leaders say Trump is aligning with Putin! He never said that! Americans know he is trying to help make peace between Ukraine and Russia to end a war which is also in Canada and the rest of the world’s best interests! I hate the deceptive media! You sit there spending 0 on your own military and live off us like a leech. You want to talk about hurting American families, lets talk fentanyl. You havent done shit until President Trump hit you in the wallet. You also have tariffs on us. The USA is also running a huge defecit with Canada. Biden is gone and the screw job is over.

Let me explain the trading relationship briefly that occurs between Canada and the US for context. \n \nCanada Has a LOT of natural resources, more than our domestic manufacturing base needs (Uranium fuel, Lumber/paper products, Steel and other metals, Fertilizer for farms...etc). Therefore we sell those raw materials to the states where they are manufactured into goods, which we then buy back. a LOT of American service companies like tech, media (And yes, even banks)...etc also operates in Canada as well. (For the auto sector the parts flip back and forth across the border like 8 times) \n \nThis relationship alone has the American economy see a large trade surplus with Canada, however there is another element to it: Energy. \n \nCanada is also home to a LARGE amount of really cheap renewable hydro power in the east, and a LOT of oil in the west, due to a lack of infrastructure we really can only sell that oil to the states and therefore it is done at a discount. America refines this cheap oil into gas and is a large part of the reason why American gas is so cheap. They use this energy to power the same factories mentioned above. (Oh and also the NE states import a lot of that clean hydro electricity for the same reasons) \n \nThe US Buys SO MUCH of that cheap energy from us to power your industrial base, that it swings the numbers on the trade balance into a small deficit for the USA. (41 billion out of a TRILLION dollars total trade, or about -4.1% of total trade so literally a pretty small deficit) It also swing back and forth every year so \n \nThen comes Trump. He wants Canada as a 51st state and own the entire continent, therefore he manufactures an excurse that our border is leaky and that migrants and fentanyl are flowing over. (In actual case migrants and the flow of Fent is about 1% the amount that's crossing at the Mexico border but he needs an excuse) \n \nHe therefore puts 25% tariffs on us. Those tariffs will hit Canada harder than the 2008 financial crisis just for scale. \n \nOh and also for the most part American Refineries literally cant process any other oil than ours or Venezuela's because its thicker so tariffs on our oil will also really increase the priced of energy in the states by a huge amount just for the LOLs. As we've seen during the post covid recovery, since gas is priced in to the supply chain at every step (Manufacturing, transportation...etc), any increase at the pump will snowball into higher costs for everything at the store, on top of the extra cost of the tariffs on consumers. (Since every step will need to add it into their markup.)

The news peole need to get their heads out if their a---s. fentenyl was just an excuse to for the pumpkin to put tarriffs on Canada andMexico to hide the fact he and his rich friends are robbing the country blind. No body wins in a trade war.trump has been inflating the amount of the deficit andnot taking onto account the services Canada also buys from the USA and the fact that we despite having a much smaller population is their best customer. It is astonishing how one single man can have such a global impact and it all seems to come down to who flatters Trump the most, who writes the biggest cheque for his campaign, etc. \n\nThe US administration needs urgent reform: Trump has removed aid, affecting millions, especially women, has now left Ukraine floundering with Elon Musks satellites probably on the chopping block too, and for the American people he has ensured that prices will go up even more. \n\nThe only silver lining is it is well overdue that Europe is properly energy independent and armed. We also need to get much wiser about the floods of migrants.

Congress and Biden approved grants of 350 millions at least x2 while Hawaiians lost their homes and got 300dol from the government for assistance, North Carolina Republicans were ignored if they had any political signs and many left homeless, California also many left lost their lives and left homeless.
