Like I've said before or two other blogs, this man should not be up there addressing CNN or any other network or any population. Whether it be Canadian or American. He has no right to be there. He is not the prime minister of this country anymore. He has no right to be making policies or to be imposing tariffs or doing anything else of the sort. Furthermore, he is also politically, unsavvy and ignorant. He in his running the mouth speech this afternoon. Insulted Donald Trump again by calling him dumb. I'm telling you that will not go very well with Mr. Trump and I wouldn't be surprised to see additional tariff percentage increased on the 25% already in place. Justin Trudeau is not a prime minister. He is a thug, an absolute idiot, a moron and any other adjective that you can find to describe someone who is totally and completely incompetent and incapable of implementing policy or running a country.

Not once did he talk about why this is happening? He says he's our friend but saying it is one thing. Actions speak louder Trudeau. Mr. Trump asked you to meet him to get balanced fair trade. You say you are our friend. But, yet you don't want fair and balanced trade. Hmmm, common sense goes a long. Tariff is a smart way to let you know that your certainly not acting like the friend and ally you say you are. This could all go away, but the truth is your demonrat supporter who lies, misleads the truth, and blames others. We the people don't tolerate that any longer and don't appreciate it. Shame on you!

Going to be interesting to listen to Trump lying to Congress tonight. His only other option is to avoid talking about tariffs. And the big question: will Congress wake up tonight and start asking questions about what Trump is doing and why (the real reasons)? Lastly, why the big hurry to cozy up to Russia? What is in that for the USA?

From an assumption that these and future tariffs will positively harm the US economy, just where does Trump go when the shit hits the fan (as it pretty much already has done)? How does he row back from the chaos he is causing and has caused. He doesn't retreat easily. I suspect that he will sack key members of his cabinet, effectively blaming them for this shift show, to try to save face. If the GOP ever grew a pair I can see impeachment in the works on the grounds of real and present harm to the US.

Canada put tariffs on America and now they are upset that we put the exact amount of tariffs on them??? No country is getting any more tariffs than what they already had on America. Now with 20% tariffs on China , the iPhone full import price $700 (sale price). is taxed(tariffs) x 20% = $140. Trump wants 20% corporate rate extended and ultimate 15% corporate rate. Most all the overseas US mfg might come home to moma. \nI would advise Trump to selectively wave tariffs on some items like lumber from Canada and food from mexico. As for oil from Canada I think Trump will let Chevron develop and buy heavy oil from Venezuela. If not might have to wave/reduce tariffs on Canadian diluted bitumen oil.

You know… I couldn’t really afford to buy food and survive before the tariffs anyways. That’s why I’m getting sicker and not better. Seniors and disabled Canadians couldn’t survive on $400 or less a month, with regular pricing. I think we have cheaper alternatives in the US. How about 50%. As long as we have 250% tariffs on American goods, I say keep going. We need reciprocal trade and need to fix the border issues also. We lose so many to the fentanyl. Canada needs to make its military contributions also. We don’t need the bs words from this bs guy. Some better leadership can still fix this but when I hear boycotts, I start checking labels also.

Canada should immediately order total blockade the border and reject all goods coming to Canada from USA and ask all Canadian not going to USA from now until further notice to force Trump Tariff to crack down! Soooo this genius wants companies to 'make stuff in the US and there will be no tariffs' and expects a company to pay someone in the US 20 or 30 dollars an hour, for an 8 hour day... instead of going overseas where a company can pay a dollar a day, for a 12 hour day, to make the same product. (Do Americans want to pay 200 dollars for a shirt, made in America, or do they want to pay 40 dollars for the same shirt made overseas. The 'new normal' does not include companies in the US trying to compete with an endless supply of VERY cheap labour overseas, and the sooner this out of touch baby boomer faces reality, the better.)

Trump is completely unreasonable. There is no sense dealing with him, period. If it is going to be 25% or even 50% with reciprocal tariffs, we simply DO NOT import American goods into Canada (if our retailers don't order them, there is nothing they can do) and if we export, the consumer is paying those tariffs and we continue to manufacture. I honestly think that is the best, maybe the only, solution. If tariffed countries stop buying American goods, maybe Trumputin will reconsider. And if he doesn't, he doesn't. He isn't known for his brain power.

No matter who pays the tariffs and who it hurts, the end result is that billions will be paid into the government coffers of both USA and Canada. Every single country has huge tariffs against our country. All Trump wants is for them to pay us the same we pay them. Why any taxpayer would be upset is against it is beyond me. Course Trudeau just said he was going to sacrifice his citizens in a forever war that is already lost. Thank God Trump will protect our citizens and just wants a even playing field. Canada has gotten away with robbing us long enough.

As a Canadian who lives in (largely French-speaking) Quebec, I don't know if our gov't even NEEDS to tariff American consumer goods, the people here are already boycotting US goods and companies en masse. EVERYBODY is doing it - and the pace isn't going to recede anytime soon. Even after the Orange Turd is long gone, trust me, Canadians will remember this! The American state has proven it cannot be trusted. They have unilaterally broken the trade agreement (negotiated by the previous Donald J Chump administration) on the flimsiest of reasons, the 00.2 % of fentanyl that flows over the border into the US from Canada. That deal now obviously not worth the paper it was signed on.
