I came to Canada 18 years ago from South Asia and work really hard to be in a position where I’m now. I’m not opposed to the immigrant anyway but why almost all the immigrants will come from a particular region? I don’t even recognize this country anymore. Canadian morales are down. So many people came so fast instead of learning Canadian value they are imposing south asian problem in Canadian society. People in South Asia laugh at Canada, and called Canadian govt cute and innocent cause they believe what every temp/student put their application and blindly bring them in Canada. I know thousands of ppl came to Canada by tourist visa and then stay in Canada. Govt even giving them monthly allowance. And I’m paying thousands of dollars in tax. Basically I’m in the same level of a person who do not pay tax but enjoy all the luxury in Canada. It’s a fault of This govt.

Prices go up because the dollar is worth less than before so you need more of the currency to represent the same value. The dollar is worth less because the government is constantly injecting more of it into the economy. You want to fix prices? Deflation - take more currency out of the economy in taxes than you put back in in spending, and you do this by reducing spending. This will make workers' paychecks worth more and reinvigorate the economy as people can afford to buy things other than basic food & shelter again.

Good move. A lot of people pretend to be students but they are just using that path to eventually find work and settle and HOPEFULLY get a citizenship and a powerful passport with it. But this new extra people puts strain on government services and housing. New immigrants are typically a low tax base so they get more from government services than taxes they pay.

Taxes , are high , homes are crazy expensive , car insurance is high , people’s are getting there cars stolen don’t see the benefit really coming to Canada . And most Indians already own there own house in India so way come to Canada and in India you pay very small taxes as well .?‍♂️ and at the end of the day white people are so racist towards Indians know they look at you like you are the reason there life is messed up ? make India. Canada talks about how great their health care is but when you see the wait times and how they have less doctors not so great . Canada and America are only great if you are already rich but if you are poor or middle class life is a struggle. I came to Canada in 2016 worked in IT until I had enough money saved up moved back to India and bought land and built a house just started buying more land and when I had enough moved back to India . Us Indians can be successful anywhere so way not be successful in our country. I can understand the pain the gentleman is going through my family own a life housing and land in Uganda very few tenants have paid and the government is not letting us evict them but love us to continue to pay our taxes while allowing encroachers to steal our land and some of them are military personalities. I agree with you leaving. I am a 3rd generation retired Canadian who used to be proud to be so. Now I am not, in fact I am embarrassed to say I am Canadian as it is nothing to be proud of. I think of how good things were in the 70's and 80's while I was young and now how bad things are today and it is truly depressing. Back then if you are willing to work, you could make a decent living, buy a car, a house and raise a family - today, good luck with that. I see no potential anymore to stay in Canada. Hi! I'm an American with the 'dream' of immigrating to Canada for many years. Got permanent residency and am working in Montreal for the summer to try it out and.... really shocked about the high taxes vs. the quality of the roads for example :/ What social benefits are Canadians really getting? Although the pace of life and culture is nice, it is hard to make less money here as a teacher than I could be in the US, and with some bullsh*t to put up with (pardon my language). And although I feel safe here, I can't believe how car thefts are so brazen and common. I might just become a seasonal visitor after all.

There are enough resources in this country to solve these problems. The problem is that the system is increasingly rigged against the poor and the middle class. The tax system favors evasion from corporations and the rich. I have some comments about some of the things in the video. Including Olivia Chow in the video when talking about housing affordability with local government policies I don't think is right to inlcude her as she only got elected last year and has to deal with all the decisions and issues from the past Toronto mayor. It's similar to blaming Biden for the economic issues of the US when a lot of the reasons for the downturn economy in the US during his first term was the impact of the economic policies that Trump put in place, it takes time. In terms of the carbon tax, I think its a valid criticism with the compounding issues canadians are facing, but also take into consideration that the provincial governments also have some play with this, as they have the ability to go for the standard carbon tax or implement a cap and trade. A lot of conservative governments like to complain about the federal government about this, but they are also to blame for some of the lack of affordability for political points. As well for the banking fees, we do have a smaller selection of banks, but there are some options that Canadians can have that do not include fees (Simplii, Tangerine). Everything else in the video I agree on, I also think personally that all political parties need a shake up in leadership.

Everything in this video is 100% true, I have been living in Vancouver since 2016. Medical is not free it comes with a cost that is time, friend of mine needs heart surgery and has been put on wait list. The part i hate the most is these drugees are given drugs and support from government from my taxes, I work hard to earn money and dont do drugs but someone else is given it for free.

I live in Calgary with a spouse and two kids and what most people would consider successful and it is nothing what I would have expected. We are mid 30s with a high household income and still struggle. We are self made (no family help) and between the house, kids, and insanely high living costs (think food, taxes, insurance, transportation...ect) we just get by. We struggle and then I think of the families making the average income and it blows my mind. I don't know how all the parents out there do it. This country is broken. Housing is insane, every industry is dominated by one or two corporations putting the screws to everyone making the cost of living unsustainable, and the government taxes you into the ground...how long can it really last

Vancouver real-estate is essentially a money laundering operation for rich foreigners looking to stash their money somewhere. Protections were put in place a little to late back in 2016 with the foreign buyers tax. But honestly most of these foreigners can either be exempt from this tax with their citizenship loop hole (anchor baby) Or honestly they just pay the fine since they can afford it and just need to get their money out of the country they are coming from. Its quite dystopian because building more homes like the government keeps promising isn't going to solve the problem either. This is because its just going to add more to the volume of housing that the foreigners can buy up from the locals and adding more fuel to the problem. Immigrations Canada is lying to new comers. To top it off, BC just recently passed a law in 2024 where you can no longer build single family residences in the lower mainland area. WHERE are the families going to go then? Can anyone even afford a family anymore? Vancouverites like myself who were diligent and saved every penny are walking away from mortgages in droves because who wants to lock into a 30 year term amortization period where at rate plus prime your looking at 5.5%-7% where the bank makes more than double in interest from you. Over the course of 30 years you still lose because even if your property appreciates past double. Capital Gains will take into effect. Your loosing money no matter what! It truly is a nightmare designed to enslave you financially. This is simply wealth creation suicide. Came from immigrant parents in the 1990s, I slaved for 10 years during my twenties, didn't come from wealth, didn't party, didn't have fun, studied hard, and started a business and I still cant break into the Vancouver market. So I ended up just barely squeaking into the market in Abbotsford. Vancouverites as a whole are screwed. Time to pack up and move to Alberta I suppose. I will also preface by saying that most of BC is empty and that it would make sense to built outside of the Vancouver area as Vancouver has now basically become fiscally unlivable. It might make sense for the next government that come into power to decide to invest in building in other towns and cities around BC to incentivize Canadians to move.

Politics dictated by US agenda is not allowing us to take advantage of foreign resources and efficiencies to mitigate our rising costs. Compound by inefficient, ineffective, and lack of adequate long term infrastructure investments put us forever in a chasing mode to keep up with the rest of the world. All you have to do is travel to some Asian counties and it will open your eyes on how our system here is completely failing.

I’m a 1st generation immigrant too and I worked too hard to get my permanent residency instead of protesting. It’s hard to go back, situation in not good but they have to understand that going back is not the end of life. In addition, I also suggest you to put some sort of disclaimer in your video to avoid people from hating Indian community. Due to some people and some poor policies too that allowed such people in the country, there is a rising hate for community and your video can trigger it even more although I personally stand for the side that you are showing but there’s a second side of this as well. Canada’s government need to tax rich, tax people who save on taxes with loopholes, and then incentivize having kids, add a better child support payment, increase student grants for people to gain skills that will help them in achieving a better paying job and Canadians feel more ready to give birth to a child.

It's time for Canada to deport these people they are the reason that the country is in a housing crisis, a major strain on our already strained health care, the reason Canadian students struggle to find employment, not to mention how difficult it has made it for some canadian university students to have access to the relevant classes because they fill up with foreign students. This ends up cost the Canadian students more money and time to complete their degree, it's not fair and as a parent of a Canadian university student I am beyond frustrated with the state ofbthis country because of the overwhelming amount of immigrants here, and to say that they are adding value to this country by filling jobs and growing the economy by putting the money they earn back into our economy is naive and false because the jobs they fill now require 8 employees to the same job 4 employees were able to handle before these immigrants came along and as for the money they earn, while that gets sent directly back to the country they originated from. Majority of the students who came after the pandemic were business professionals who took the pandemic as an opportunity to get back to education. They chose Canada because of its beauty and friendly people. The reality of which is they paid 3 times as much tuition as a Canadian, got abused at their work place for bare minimum wage. They paid a hefty price for a degree that no country recognizes. Its funny how your PM cashed your CERB cheques with the cash of international students. Its sad how Indian students follow the legal process to enter your nation and get hate for being illegals. Students who have a CRS score 500+ struggle to make a living while your government provides easy immigration by asylum to people who themselves burned their countries down. Its sad to be in a nation where getting a call connected to the CRA takes more time than getting political asylum. Your government spends your tax money on asylum seekers and their 6-7 kids who come with them and not international students. We bring money to your nation. 7 billion dollars is what the students bring your nation every year, while your PM sends 5 times as much to fund someone else’s war. You put a communist dictator to represent you and you are paying its price. Darker days lie ahead for Canada and they have nothing to do with Indian students.

the infrastructure of Canada cannot handle a million new people a year. the Liberal government has exploited international students and temporary workers too much and needs to be reigned in. these policies and practices do not benefit Canadians, only landlords and franchise owners and the tax collectors are getting the benefits. you and i get inflated demand on rent and food prices. overcrowded classrooms and hospitals. delivery drivers who can't understand english and drive like maniacs. this is exacerbating the housing crisis in such a way that a single person cannot compete for the cost of a one bedroom apartment when a group of indians will share the cost with as many as seven people in one unit. our infrastructure, housing and transit was never intended to have this many people. there isn't even any rapid transit outside a handful of cities. mass immigration is also leading to election interference and could be used to vote in WEF garbage that will ruin even more nice things we take for granted. our high trust society is gone. shameless life hacks and citizenship of convenience is all most migrants are coming for. mass immigration is bringing down the standard of living in Canada. poverty and homelessness are out of control. whether its the chaos of crime or the eyesore of encampments. whether its was just a package on your porch or your car stolen from your driveway, the government isn't handling the load that mass immigration is putting on society and Canada's legal system is a joke. its almost like the Liberals are actively recruiting an army of psychopaths just to vote for them. the drugs and the gangs and the organized crime isn't worth the hollow platitudes and desperate social programs.

Go ahead lobby the federal government to bring in 10 million migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan and put 2 million foreigners in each of the 10 provinces, right now. Then don't be shocked when civil war happens. Enough is enough. Canadians need to be like Denmark and Netherlands, who are saying no to massive immigration! Remember refugees and asylum seekers aren't supposed to work until their claims are approved. How many businesses are paying the migrants in cash? It's one thing if the immigration process was well organized and all the immigrates were working and paying taxes. But now the provinces are begging for funding to deal with all the new comers and only Quebec is getting support from the federal government. Most mirgants just come here to try to have a better life but in reality the politicians don't care if they end up on welfare. It's super sad Canadians are dying of drug addictions on the streets and the federal government is still insisting massive immigration is going to keep them in power or solve Canada's failing economy or prop up Canada's pension plan.

As the lady said I too feels like a stranger in my own country Trinidad west indies,every where you turn around it Chinese from China,Jamaicans, and the most right is from Venezuela,also there are Indians from India,From Bangladesh,mind you most these just opening businesses and surly they are not contributing any thing to the country in terms of taxes because they know how to bend the rules ,the economy is bad yet these people are given free medical care,yet Trinidadians don't get the same ,the Chinese just making money yet nothing from to the building of the country all the money they are making is going outside of the country likewise the Indians from India and the lists goes on and on ,these immigrants from these countries behaves like they are doing us a favor in fact they are not they are putting a big strain on the economy and the Trinidad taxes payers .

Okay the lady is saying government should give them the opportunity. These guys already here too many and they don't respect laws which you can see when you go to Brampton. And they want more and more of their people here so they can feel like their back home. But there is problem which is people from other cultures don't like more Punjabis here. It is like this there is one pizza and that is for four people and now ten people are waiting to eat that pizza. There are no jobs here because Canada is not like US industrialized and tons of companies. So what will happen when tons of you won't get job then you will go and put a camp to live and the expenses would come on tax payers if you become PR because you will claim social assistance and then hospital have to treat you. Means the resources would be limited. So let that pizza for four people. India is very good country good weather everything just build your country and have less kids so they don't have to worry in future for jobs.

My great grandfather came to Vancouver in 1920. I'm planning to move to Tokyo because of my Japanese wife. I'll be mortgage free, and even with the pension penalty for retiring early, I'll still have a much more affordable lifestyle.\n\nThx Trudeau!!! I have lived in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and now Alberta. Toronto was beautiful in the 60’s and 70’s then it started to change to what is now overcrowded, expensive and crime ridden. I would not choose it anymore. Winnipeg, Manitoba in the mid to late 80’s was lovely. People were polite especially in winter, when driving was challenging, friendly and it is very cultural. People would say it would be the best city in Canada if it was in the mountains. Now I live in Edmonton, Alberta a dirty city with a council that puts high priced, unaffordable recreation centres ahead of services that would benefit everyone. Now they want to increase the population to 2 million when it can’t afford to sustain the existing population of 1,568,000. The taxes this year have risen to 8.9% and house prices are expected to increase 6.5% for an average price of $458,000. I lived in Calgary, in the Fish Creek provincial park area close to the C-train and a good bus service to downtown. 45 minutes from the mountains and Kananaskis, great zoo, vibrant downtown and if it is not much more expensive than Edmonton and is ranked 7th best city to live in worldwide. To compare the 2 cities, Edmonton tries to be world-class but just doesn’t have what it takes. The people seem to have very little pride in their city, the parks are a mess of weeds which also grow wherever there is green space and they very possibly have the worst and rudest drivers in the country. Very sorry if this offends anyone.

Reality is that white people don't make kids anymore and if it wasn't for immigration the sociale system would collapse. Would be interesting to see what people would say if government say we'll put and end to immigration and you'll loose half of your pension and salary, because that's what will happen.
