I am shocked to learn that people coming on Tourist visa (from developing countries) to Canada can apply for Job here and once hired can change visa status while in Canada. Never have I ever heard about this while staying in UK on work permit for 4 years that UKBA /Home Office has ever approved such low quality visa that Trudeau is flexible about. Neither Harper's/Kenney's administration (under which I immigrated to Canada back in 2014) has ever approved such cockamamie change of visa status. This is unfair to those who paid all legal fees/been working hard and never relied on the benefits proposed by the Canadian..yikes!Turdo has made Canada into a 3rd world dump...

There's a job shortage not a labour shortage.There are millions of unemployed and under employed people that would love to fill high paying jobs and trades but can't due to bureucratic barriers.Ask the doctor driving a cab in toronto or the lady with a masters degree who makes your latte.Companies should train people not pawn that off to the college's.The myth is these low to no slilled immigrants are supposed to generate wealth for Canada yeah? It's been 54 years of imposed mass migration where's the pay off? If they could why didn't they do it back in their own country? In London Ontario, all my Department stores and grocery stores have been taken over by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity. There are no jobs for Canadians because the illegals are given the jobs.

You have people who have close to minimum wage jobs who bought a house in the 90s or early 2000s and are winning the lottery with their home being worth 2 to 3 times what they paid for it. Along the years they took out equity and bought more places and are now millionaires. While this generation pays for student loans and comes out making about the same, adjusted for inflation, and can't buy a home. Everyone thinks their million dollar home that was 200k 20 yrs ago has the price justified. It's a pyramid scheme

I left in 2015 and never came back. I don't see a reason to. Back then it was hard to get a job as a Canadian new grad. I can't imagine it is easier now. Also if I do come back, I'll probably get hit with the international experience isn't canadian experience balony.

Unless someone going to Canada to socialise vs being on a sole mission to work and have something to take back home. Poverty in Africa is real my brother. I live in US... and to be honest I am disappointed with indian embassy service. Never take call. Never talk respectfully. Curt rude and scam callers by billing them to share general info that is supposed to be their job to answer calls. I don't care if they are understaffed but for the amount of fees that they charge to do visa and passport, it is ridiculous how unprofessional and uncivil they are behaving. I am well educated and yet distressed. They are abusing their own citizens this way

I moved to the US from Canada. No country is perfect but I prefer the US, much better if you are younger with a good degree /skills.\n\nMuch better job market and career growth opportunities, better weather, more variety, lower taxes and higher pay, much better to be paid in USD, so much more to see/do, way better flight options, most things from eggs to cars to houses cost less...just much more.\n\nOnly thing is getting permanent residency in the US is much more difficult than Canada, but US is where the growth and opportunities are.

I can total relate to that in terms of making new friends. Even though I studied here for both my undergrad and Masters, many of my old friends and classmates at school are working in different places so I hardly have many familiar people known around me. Also due to the nature of my remote working job, it's just so hard to meet someone with close connection and relationships with as before.

Ok... Toronto and Vancouver is a very small part of Canada... they are not the whole Canada... I understood the struggles but there are lots of places in Canada is what we say livable... Hey Im alone here in Edmonton... i pay mortgage,,, i pay bills,,, i pay debts,,, i support my family back home,,,, i buy whatever i want and most of all,,, i only have one job... and look!!! Im surving for 14 years now alone... Struggles should be dealt with willingness to do what is necessary,,, hardwork and resiliency not quitting... you will still have to work hard whether you go back home or go somewhere else... at least here in Edmonton,,, you're hard work is rewarding unlike most of the countries around the world...

Being a youth from small town Alberta, unable to land work, seeing our local job market being bought up by immigrants and seeing those jobs handed right to their family members is disheartening. I am in Canada for 17 years and I love this country. It literally saved my life. Although I have to admit that it is a matter of surviving nowadays. My husband is a senior piping designer and he can't find a job for more than a year and was on and off the job for last 6 years. I am an internationally trained doctor and I can't find anything for myself. I can't afford pursuing my profession as it's too expensive and takes years with no certainty thag you will even get into industry. So I'm looking for all other jobs. But I'm either overqualified or don't have Canadian experience. So we have money just for a few months to survive... With 2 kids it's even more stressful... We barely can afford our rent... And we can't go back home as we left it so many years ago, no connections for job there too. So we really just pray everyday...

There are regular workers who walk this road into the country every day as well. This is very disruptive to them with their jobs. People will be trampled under foot and they don't care. They just keep coming. The only importance to them is where they want to go.

It’s very difficult for newcomers with education and professions in their home country to get professional jobs here. A lot of former doctors, teachers, engineers, etc. end up working at Walmart or driving cabs. Yet, we often have shortages in those very professions.

well housing and for health care cost of living. the new middle class to live comfortable afford rent groceries car payments and to have some saving need to make at least 11k a month after taxes 11k a month after taxes is like 200k in canada for health care to even see a doctor sure ok we get referral but that referral takes 8 months to go and see an referral. i worked 2 full time jobs in the trades to try and get ahead that 2 full time trade mens jobs and i looked at my taxes was 5 months of income in taxes. so i quit one job. i ncanada your penealized for working harder when there is a single mom who has no job has 4 kdis making 5k a month from child benefits and welfare
