Very kidding same reason still used by Canadian employers for job seekers without local working experience today when moving to Canada more than 20 years ago. Think twice if you want to move to Canada for better life without job. This is not a country for many professionals. They will use same excuses used back to 20 years ago to reject you: no local work experience, no Canadian degree, etc. The truth is no opportunity. They just want you come to spend money for paying higher rent, living expenses to make economy grow. Their middle class population is dying everyday. It will be getting worse and worse in the coming future, believe or not. Good luck new Canadian immigrants.

The student visa is meant for very young ppl to experience a year of Canada and learn English. Why not stay in India? They don't have a war.

All the students who are already in Canada should have the option to be eligible for a PR, they (the Indian students) went there for a better life, they have their entire existence dependent on the fact of becoming a Canadian citizen eventually. Deporting them would be a loss for India as well as Canada, as many of them will end up with depression and feeling of failure. \n\nThe Canadian government must allow these student who are already in the country to apply for citizenship and make citizenship and PR rules stricter going forward. I love Cape Breton. Canada is a big country. Our family immigrated to Halifax and then lived in Lake Simcoe area, then Kirkland Lake, Ontario, then lived in three or four homes in Edmonton. But the population of Alberta has tripled since I lived there and the population of Canada has doubled. Cities are mostly the same in the U.S. or Canada. I've lived in Philadelphia and Boston and on the coast of Maine. Maine and Nova Scotia share much in common. Cities are the problem: over-crowded, expensive, lacking decent employment, crime infested, etc but this is true in most of the cities of the world, whether in India or U.S. or Canada. Don't blame the country for city problems;.

My only thoughts is Now a days, ONLY INDIAN's are hired everywhere, such as Tim hortons,security,best buy Banks,Senior Care agency,100 % ALL Canadian Business Sectors are ALL INDIANS, where are the Diverse culture,when only INDIANS are hired. Such as in Tim hortons, All will be INdIANS, All the Agencies have a INdians in Human resources and they hires only Indians. Indians are hired in 7 days after coming to Canada, everything is negotiaged from Upper level,thats their statement.For us, canadian citizens,in 2011, we had to wait 7 long moths for work permit and we were not allowed to work.Some according to my friends,only Indians'are hired,people who are canadian citizens had to wait in big line for a job. Indian dont have to wait just coming here after 7 days, they get job or hired. If one Indian's work in one office,there will be 10 Indians next week. Where are the Diverse culture now?

Been in Canada for 26 years and came as a student. I'm all for balanced immigration and not over populating. What this gentleman forgets to mention is that Canadian universities and colleges promise opportunities galore upon completion. So often these students are taking out massive loans in hopes of paying back some portion of it with post grad work permits.

I came here from India to Canada to research in machine learning at a top lab. Every single tim horton has an Indian PR holder who has never been to college. I feel like I am back in India lol. Only the CCD cafes got changed to Tim Hortons and Khalistani terrorists are welcome here because diversity I guess?
