the biggest challenge with most people is comfort, threiving abroad requires more than just one job. If you have gone to hustle please forget about comfort. 2ndly if you are going to canada make sure you have someone who is gonna shelter you for a few months as you stablize, or help you figure out your next step and also have a few bucks on you, otherwise you will die on the streets. And then once you find a job, please subsidize the costs, you can share an apartment with someone, cook your own food.\nlastly people should know that much as canada is a rich country, it also has poor people living there.....inclusive of beggers. I think you should just forget about the negative comments for the people who are not doing well....

Lyn, the key word here is , let people do their homework well well, from the comments, some people are making it. Unless you use a gatter agent, I think either way it's better than Kenya!!!

It's interesting to see the comment section filled with agency mafiosi posing as ordinary citizens, trying to persuade Kenyans to move to Canada. These individuals are in the business of deceiving Kenyans and then leaving them stranded on the streets. The reality is that life in Canada is not easy, and it can take many years to establish oneself. The cost of living is among the highest, and opportunities can be elusive. I read through the comments and couldn't help but notice the deceit perpetuated by these agents.

Absolute farce. Lots of gullible fools in the comments here praising the 'bipartisanship' when all it shows is that these guys really are just on the same team.

Comment...I've watched the world turn inside out...politics to blame. Of this no doubt...

Two things\n1. Comments section resulted our faith, people have matured now \n2. There must have been some reason for the official to vent out. WHY WOULD ANYONE ON DUTY BE FURIOUS AND RESTLESS for no reason? Someone must have hurt him with words, actions or both.

As many people has said in the comments section. Foreign countries are not easy especially for new immigrants. One has to have the right documentation to be able to live and work. People definitely has to do their research before paying those agents thousands of dollars and empty promises about Canada. Jobs are there but you have to be skilled, otherwise one will end up in factory Jobs where they pay minimum wages making it extremely difficult to make ends meet.

Am Francis living in Canada ??, and i would say ,you should only take comments from those who leave in Canada but not those who are new in Canada,

Happy birthday Lynn! I’m so happily amazed you touched on this subject. I am commenting from Canada and seeing people getting frustrated coming on visitor visa to look for work/convert visa to work permit. Even employers with LMIA approval are asking for work permits. Anyone coming to Canada should preferably secured a job or school before coming here. It is so so so expensive and jobs aren’t easy to get without Canadian credentials or experience . Any Canadian credentials including a certificate will up your game in getting a job. Meanwhile while in school you can now work unlimited hours but ensure you stay in school and finish. Be careful with agents promising jobs . It is hard here but once you get into the system hard & smart work pays. And getting into the system can only be done front door. What one pays an agent for visitor visa, you might as well do a one year certificate that’s approved for post graduate work permit. Less headache and better opportunities. When a deal sounds too good think twice- agents are really smooth talkers and super salespeople from what I’m told by those coming here through them. Be wise….I have no regrets coming here I wish I did it earlier as I’d have gained more through longer school options in my youth ?.

I'm almost on the same boat as you, though I pay $2000 per month for my spacious 1 bedroom and it's downtown. I'm actually still considering leaving Toronto, if anybody wants to take over my rent, please feel free to comment.

This comment section and video are so pessimistic. Generalizing about an entire city removed from the context of all other comparable surrounding cities.\n\nIt’s not the city that is awful, it’s how legal systems in place enable property owners and landlords to collectively screw the citizens of the city. It’s how corporate greed and income inequality disproportionately affect the least fortunate.\n\nWould also like to see data related to the alleged increase in crime on the TTC.\n\nThe complaints about mental health wait times are not a Toronto issue, but a nationwide issue.\n\nThis video is hardly personal, relies on a few clips from CBC, CTV, and CP24, and doesn’t get to the heart of what it is like to be an everyday citizen of the city. Just looking for clicks with minimal value provided.

I live in El Paso, where the fk has this sympathy been for HOMELESS VETERANS IN THE STREETS OF EL PASO?! I see everyone in the comments shaming us for not wanting to help, I'm Chicana and what these immigrants are doing is WRONG and ILLEGAL. Yet, our own Vietnam and Desert Storm vets are in the streets begging for change. We need to take care of OUR OWN first, then we can sufficiently begin to help others less fortunate. You cannot put another's oxygen mask on without first ensuring yours is securely on.

UK here , yep unfortunately the same here , and worldwide as some of the comments make clear. .\nUnbelievable what damage government policies , financial institutions and the Vatican can do . \nI honestly can believe people haven’t woken up an seen the light .\nWithin the last few days that twat in control has dropped himself right in it again!!! \nScary thing is what prat will be put in next as a puppet for the the holy Lord Klaus and the Vatican. ?? \nFunnily enough over here Charles still worships the RC Church. ?‍?\nPeace and love to all decent individuals ❤??

Reading through the comments becomes depressing when you realise maybe 1% of viewing adults actually understand what is important about these stories. People nowadays have a lot of opinions but seem to be completely lacking of any maturity.

Yes actually I do have a comment or two. I think that Toronto has become the victim of either its own success as a multicultural, diverse and growing metropolis or the perceived idea that Toronto is the place to be. And what that brings with it? Yes, people who are interested in living the life and those who can afford it pay it. You said it very well, the city has become unaffordable to most people but the wealthy or at least those who are getting paid the best salaries and those who bank on real estate take advantage of this, be it the hype or reality since also, most job opportunities are still there. So to me the problem is with the lack of contro of the real estate market. And people who cant pay but for whatever reason live there just have to pay the price. The refugee situation is not surprising to me at all. We are struggling with affordable housing for crying out loud but we are also advertising to the world that we are that welcoming and peaceful society that those people can be part of. But at what cost. Toronto cannot continue like this if it will still be considered as a city for the people and not the wealthy and chronically increasing poor. No wonder they chose a progressive for a mayor and not a conservative or hard line liberal because people want change but not radically. People want to live in the best city they can having all necessary services and in peace and safety. So, there are so maby layers to pill here but again, the main reason why things have gotten the way they are is because they let real estate run unleashed. All the best, Alina.

A lot of the problems you highlight are the same around the world: San Francisco, LA, Vancouver, NYC, London, Paris, Sydney, etc. Are you seriously telling me that Tokyo was cheaper than Toronto? The prices for housing in places in Asia like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore all have extremely high housing costs. As for safety, I can't comment on all the cities I mentioned but Toronto is still safer than most - even with the issues over the last few years
2023-09-26 0
The amount of racist Canadians in these comments are disgusting ?
2023-09-24 0
Thanks for sharing your observations Alina. p.s. I lived in T.O. for a year and enjoyed it. Now it surely will be a place I only visit. I, too, once thought of moving to Toronto. And having read some comments from viewers... consolidated my future plans. ?

I have been living at that building you did your closing comments from right on the lake since 1997. Everything you said about Toronto is true and it is totally gone downhill. I am watching this video from my condo and Playa Del Carmen and I just never want to come back. Even if you can affotd it life is just easier and better elsewhere.

??? I don’t even know how to comment on this vital informative, sensitive, funny video! My God continue to protect you Mr Chorchor… ai lived 8 years in Egypt, finished my O’levels to university there. When you said “they will only start frustrating you at the ide minute” I was just imagining those very tough immigrations. I’m currently in Fiji I really suffered before I could get access to pass in my 3rd attempt because I was transiting through Singapore. I had to go back and spend another 3 weeks in Egypt! The funny thing, that was not Egypt Air but Emirates but still frustrated me before i could show all evidence that I can transit within the Airport jurisdictions within 48hrs…

Winnipegger here who lived in Toronto 2014-2020, moved back to Wpg 2020-2021 and is now back in Toronto. \n\nFirst and foremost, your comments on crime are inconsistent with the data and blown out of proportion. I suggest viewers take a look at StatsCan’s crime severity index which confirms that Ontario is the safest province or territory in Canada (safer than PEI lol). There are also scores for cities and Toronto is safer than almost every other Canadian city, safer than even Ottawa or Calgary, twice as safe as Vancouver, nearly three times safer than Winnipeg. If we start comparing to US cities, it would be even more shocking. Suffice to say, Toronto is not only safe, but it’s the safest major city in Canada and one of the safest major cities on earth. \n\nThe homelessness crisis has certainly gotten a lot worse, sadly. As has the cost of living, but you get what you pay for.\n\nHaving travelled to 35 countries (doesn’t mean I’m an expert, but I have some experiences in other places), I respectfully disagree and think Toronto is one of the greatest cities. It’s one of the greenest cities in this continent, safe, on the lake, super close to other major cities, great infrastructure (relative to Canadian cities anyway), it’s beautiful and there’s a ton to do, not to mention the diversity. \n\nDon’t be turned off by this, if you can afford it, it’s one of the best places you could live on this planet.

Your comments are honest, they need to be made.

There is one thing that the Sardaji did not mention. Perhaps he is too young to comment on this. As you age in a foreign country, you need acceptance from the society, and you need to be able to integrate. I have lived in the UK and Germany (10 years) before coming to the US (in 1987). In the UK it does not matter, there are enough of us. The US is very friendly and you are accepted. Germany, France and other West European countries will not accept you as an equal. You can make friends as a student, but as a worker you do not make new friends anymore. I do not know what the situation is in Canada. Perhaps some one can comment.

Why are the people in comments complaining, didn't the caring government decriminalise illicit drugs to help the growing homeless cope...
