Nobody said this so I have to; Canada is a country like most western country sell hope for people; however many, not all who comes over these western country find themselves in a hard place; with broken family; broken kids, and just work, work, work, and pay pay pay... when they work all their life, and get old; most have nothing to show for; their kids are too busy for them, most end up alone in a nice place; eventually, they will realize all they have is a nice jail, and kids, and the Gov;t just wait to get all their asset when they past. Sad Reality. There was a time when one get old are surrounded by their family; kids, grand kids, etc... Its now gone!

As a year 2000 immigrant and 67 years old retired that had to go back to work to survive, I give newcomers to Canada one simple advice : GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE...things are going to change in only one direction WORSE.

Im a syrian , my country originaly is one of the best places which you can enjoy literally 4 seasons , mild winter and mild summer compared to other countries in the middle east , sytia also has a lot of natural and archaeological sites to whom is interested ..however two major factors are making me think of moving to another country -mainly are the wars inforced on syria to capture the rich mineral sources we have .\n-the inflation caused by the war , made it uncomfortable struggling to keep a least standard of living which becoming impossible to retain .\nTherefore , im also thinking of hijra ,hopefully to a country where ill feel safe and confortable to retire there..\nTop country id like to live in is malaysia , but im not sure how are the laws regarding foreigners getting residency etc..\nMay Allah help you and family , me and family getting the best as HE almighty knows what n where ..

I think its wrong and arrogant. Better an alive Palestinian that will live to build a new life and conquer in the future then a dead one buried under rubble. Israel is wrong but they are stronger. This is a good example of what differentiates a Canadian from a person who holds Canadian citizenship. Not that you're wrong about the state of our morally bankrupt secular culture and government, but that's something that I'm going to fight against. I'm not going to run away, because this is my country that my ancestors spilled their blood for, and it's still worth fighting for, at least to me. I and every other Canadian have no other home to flee to. As far as Canada not being Muslim-friendly enough, why should it be. This is a Christian country founded on Christian morality and Christian-based law. I don't want my country becoming more Islamic just as you don't want your home country becoming more Christian.

I think things might get better when we have our new common sense PM, the current one is just so incompetent, I will for sure leave this place if he gets re-elected in 2 years. People have to stop using rental prices in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. That's like Americans using rental costs in Bel-Air California or Manhattan as an example of what rent costs in America. It's not a realistic portrayal of rental costs. \nHere in Quebec the the annual tax rate is between 26.53% and 53.31%, depending on income. Then you have to consider all the socialist programs that you are forced to pay into, which also sucks up a significant amount on your weekly salary. After that, you must consider that you pay 15% sales tax on almost everything. It's safe to say that half of your yearly earnings, give or take, are taken in taxes and socialized programs. As for salaries, less than 20% of the Canadian population make a 6 figure salary. We're not talking about household income. I am talking about individual income. You're not going to become rich here in Canada! The majority of people who do become rich leave Canada to avoid taxation. Canadians live a life of debt. You will live just balancing your debt to make sure it doesn't get out of control Few Canadians have money in savings without debt. The ones who do have money saved, most of them have debts on top of their savings which is counterproductive in my opinion.

You haven’t mentioned that You can hire house help! For sure that’s not as cheap as South Asia countries! I find the video more negative about Canada. You have not mentioned about child benefits, all person pension benefits, tax benefits! People get high tax benefits as well! A lot more positives are here that are completely ignored here! Please do not discourage or pass your own judgement on a country which is continuously proving one of the best countries on the earth!

I've been living in Toronto for 2 years, and I would say Toronto is one of the most overrated cities. I'm from Japan, Osaka and lived in Tokyo awhile as well. I lived in San Jose and Seattle for a while. I'm convinced that Toronto is the worst city TBH or probably Canada is perhaps not as cool as people expect. People say Canadian health insurance is pretty decent compared to American health insurance, but I think Canadian medical system's getting broken, and sooner or later it's gonna be like American medical system unless they pay extremely high taxes.

In 20 years Canada will be Chinese and India owned and Canada will cease to be. I lived in B.C 30 years ago, no one speak English then, I am in Alberta now and am starting to see the same thing. We are not a melting pot anymore. Get ready for a official language change.

The only decision that should get anyone to leave Canada is, without doubt, the fact that it's become a totalitarian state thanks to Trudeau. However, he also invited more of you in, and, let's be frank, you want everyone there to be Muslim. And most of them dont want to be Muslim or be dictated to by guys support terrorism to achieve your aim of ruling the world. ALL the other religions in Canada and elsewhere are there for a quality life, and for decades found their prayer spots, ate fish or even kosher, attended public schools but taught their religion privately, survived civil law etc - all except one. Let's face it, the problems all started with the grip on the world caused by the mostly Arabian oil-producing countries holding the world to ransom and getting rich enough to buy out western properties and businesses. So, it really is best for all you the folks here, who feel the same, to head for countries where you fit into the country rather than a country having to fit into your ideologies. It's a win-win.

I came to Canada in Jan 2022 on permanent residence from India and returned back to India in November 2023. My reason to move to Canada was, I moved back to India for personal reasons after living in USA for 10 years (studies + work). I moved to Canada because I missed US, and thought it was difficult to adjust in India, and US would never give me green card anyway (due to country of birth quota). I moved to Canada with a job in hand, but opportunties are limited here. On top salaries are low, even compared to India. Healthcare is a disaster. In US, I could see a doctor next day. I had 4 surgeries done in US, multiple CT scans and countless X-rays. Never had an issue. In Canada, despite paying high taxes I fear of not able to get medical treatment and wait for months to see specialist. \nSlowly I realized, this country is not USA anyway and was naive of me to think of it as a viable replacement. I ended up returning back to India, as in end I realized India has issues, Canada has different ones but in India at least I can earn well (70 to 80K CAD while 2 BHK costs me like 500 CAD per month, 300,000 CAD for luxurious 3.5 BHK) and I can be close to my parents, the reason for which I left US. I will always miss US though. As long as I have family in India, I will never think of settling anywhere else. But the only country I would ever consider in future is USA.

Wouldn’t it be more fair to compare one minimum wage income to 1-bedroom rather than 2-bedroom? Why should one person be able to get a two-bedroom?

It's obvious that you have never lived outside of Canada. Canada is probably one of the last countries in the world that accepts people for who they are and has a decent level of respect for belief systems. I get that you want to raise your children in a better environment, but trust me when I tell you this... you are walking into a world of disappointment. Canada itself is about 15 years behind other countries when it comes to this downwards spiral you are speaking of. Sadly, you will find out soon enough that this utopia you want to find, simply doesn't exist and you will discover you have left the variable comforts and safety of Canada behind. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but am simply sharing what I discovered when I searched for the same things. I think L. Frank Baum said it best.... if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. If you are lucky in life you will discover that the world doesn't stop turning for you, and that the world that you dream of for your children must be created from within. That being said, it is good to travel and trying different ways of living is a wonderful education for your children. Just remember to shield your hearts and stay positive if things don't turn out the way that you hope they will. Best of luck and stay safe.

This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. I visit Canada regularly since the late 90th. I saw a steady decline in the last years. Get rid of Trudeau and his bad politics. The sad thing is that this happens to many western countries. Currently I live in Germany. The loss of wealth and confidence due to damage done to the economy by the current government is mind blowing. People are angry. Many of your numbers are wrong sweetie. Here are the facts;\n2 years ago, you would go to IGA (where food is fresh but it is pricey), you would get out with 2 bags of groceries for about 120$. Today, it is 180$ for the same 2 bags. this is NOT a 10% increase... but almost the double in price!\n\nRent, in Quebec province, have gone from around 1,000$ to 2,400$ in less than 5 years, and each time a tennant leave his place, the landlord rise (against the law but nobody can do anything) the rent often by 25 to 40%!!! The Demand is so high, that he can refuse you for any reason (including racism, children, pet, smokers) he can think of. Again, this is against the common law but in truth, there is nothing anybody can do, unless you can bring him to court, which takes lots of money...\n\nSo in reality, from the last 5 years, almost everything has double in price and salaries have barely start to rise (mostly due to unions who revolted) but if you are not part of one, your salary basically stayed the same.\n\nA very good advice, don't come to Canada. There is no 'dream' here anymore. it is hell. And even if you find a decent job, you will be ask to do the job of 4 peoples and taking your vacation will be near impossible without losing it. After all that Canada has done to help you, you still don't want to stay?? Then leave!! On your way out, try to ask people who try to immigrate to China how their experience is like. Worked 1 year in the arctic in 1989 then was offered a job in Singapore in 1990 and never looked back. There are MASSIVE engineering opportunities in Asia, its nothing like Canada. \nIf you have to deal with the Canadian government from outside the country your quickly realize that Canada is run by....children. The high commission is a joke, the over seas PP stuff is a joke, its all a joke. They could just copy the legislation that Australia has but they don't, it a complete amateur joke.\nCrime in Singapore? There is almost zero. \nTaxes? Singapore taxes are 1/4 of that in Canada plus there are no capital gains tax in Singapore. I live in Canada and it's a strange place. You work so hard and never seem to get ahead. Wages are low and cost of living is really high it's so hard to save and build towards a future. Not to mention the cost of housing is crazy. Two bedroom one story house in Toronto will cost 1.5 million. Cost of living is out of control.

If a country opens its borders to Palestinian refugees, they facilitate Israel’s objective of flattering Gaza and ethically cleansing the land to allow for further expansion and illegal settlement. I can't say I support Saudi Arabias actions, but I also would feel the same if they opened their doors to refugees. Neither one are the right solution, and only we westerners can make this stop. You tend to get high taxes in places with free health care. Many use Canada as a bridge country to the US. In the US health care is very expensive. Many companies you would work for offer free health care plans for single individuals ( if you have a family it costs a lot ) but those plans have such high deductibles and co-pays that you can't afford to use it. Most US health care plans have very high deductibles ad co-pays making it extremely expensive. Then when you retire and start getting social security which is not much money by the way, you also get Medicare which also has a monthly charge around $150 mth. It doesn't cover everything. It does not cover dental or vision. It does not cover all your hospital stay which tends to occur as you get older. Most Americans end up having to sell their homes that they spent a lifetime paying off, to pay medical bills and end up on Medicaid which is the free last resort medical care and end up in a nursing home to end your days. Most nursing homes are bad. You end up in a 2 person room, in diapers, up for meals and back to bed, diaper changed 2 times per shift and one shower per week done by whomever in the communal shower room. Shelves until you die, which many do very quickly out of despair. After working your whole life that is the prize folks in the US.

I don't mean any disprect but we the majority (the ones who are 3, 4 generations in) don't want an Islamic government in our country. That doesn't make me a hater but it's matter of preference. What makes you think this is something we would be willing to fanthum here? While I would agree with a lot of what your points are (LGBT, pedophiles , woke society, abortion etc..) there are some conflicts with your idealogy which doesn't exactly mesh into our Canadian values and culture. Our values and customs allowed most of us to grow up in a mainly Christian or even athiest environment. Everyone of any race or creed is welcome here as long as you are willing to work hard and be financially independent. In other words no freeloading off the government. People are expected to assimilate and get along with society. We opened our doors and welcomed you remember that...

As a westerner (Australian) I have lived in 4 different Islamic countries in one of those countries although they were devout muslims they were welcoming and friendly. That country was Oman the other countries I wont name but I will say that at no time did I ever feel completely welcome or safe. There were definately people in all them who were tolerant of westerners but there were plenty more who were not. Oman is a wonderful country its full of history including the Arab wotlds oldest Souk located in Muscat and as a bonus its only a 2 hour drive over to Dubai and the Emirates it does get quite hot in summer but for us it was a nice place to live.

As forth generation Canadian I left years ago and never ever want to return .\nGrowing up Canada was the greatest place to live but with years of Canada being flooded with a million new bodies a year it’s become a horror show .\nSure many coming are great people but they won’t stick around once they see with their own eyes the realities there .\nSo anyone loving to come to Canada are obviously from third world hell holes and are coming for the free stuff .\nCanada has new migrants from the worst countries in the world countries you would never ever dream of visiting but now those people live next door.\nI watched a YouTube stream from Toronto on New Year’s Eve and did not recognize my old Toronto the good anymore .\nRight at Yonge and Dundas the main intersection in Canada 95 % of the people were South Asian and 80% were male .\nThere was no Christmas decorations in Toronto just one sad looking tree they call a remembrance tree .\nDon’t know what we are supposed to remember what Toronto use to be when they celebrated Christmas and it was a White Christian country ?\nIf you can believe it Toronto doesn’t even have a New Year’s party concert celebration anymore ,just lame fireworks over Lake Ontario.\nMontreal doesn’t even have fireworks anymore lol \nTake my advice get the heck out of Canada move to Thailand where housing is cheap ,food cheap and people are nice .\nYou only live once don’t waste it in miserable Canada

If you can get a good job outside of Toronto or Vancouver it is one of the best places on earth. Unfortunately most of the economic activity is in these places so all of the population is funneled there which creates extreme competition for jobs and housing. Our salaries are lower than the USA yet housing is higher in these two places.

Anyone who crosses the border illegally for any amount of time be it five minutes or 5 years , it’s a life time ban from ever entering this country again . They have to pass a law like this and have include the ones already here , if you get caught you are deported and never allowed to enter the country legally again period never again. I would have the president give a speech encouraging all illegal immigrates that from this moment until 30 days from now you will have to go back to your home country, if you can’t afford it we will put you on a flight to the airport of our choice in your homeland.So for the next 30 days you will not be stopped or detained if you are leaving the country but anyone who’s still here after that deadline and caught there’s no immigration court with free lawyers you are gone with a life time ban . If you want to come legally than all the regular procedures are still in place . First find a sponsor, than get a visa so you can go to the immigration office and get a background check , if you don’t qualify than too bad it’s not our fault you don’t meet our requirements to be eligible to become a U.S. citizen. If you pass the background check and can prove you can support yourself and have a place to live then you get a green card and you get in line while you are in this country and wait your turn to become a U.S. citizen .

The reason behind all these factors except the last one is socialism. No matter if comes from the right or the left. But a decade of government under Trudeau's policies only made it worse. I think it's fair to say that the reason why people are leaving Canada is mainly socialism but I guess it would be a too short video without getting too much into politics.

What is missing is that many leave after getting Canadian citizenship. So it is a two edge sword...stay in Canada for the prized citizenship. I think those who leave with that are just using the system...short term pain, long term gain...also these issues about Canada are not new...anyone thinking the streets are paved with gold are not paying attention. Also much immigration is family reunification. Also, when one leaves were are they going to go...not the US these days...

As someone who moved Canada 3.5 years ago, I agree with all the reasons mentioned. There are many things government could have done better to fight against the inflation, housing crisis, high cost of living and rise in crime and homelessness. I don't even want to mention about the taxes. Like I am almost giving half of my salary to the government yet they are still taking %13 more on what we spend on, yet I've never seen a single place where that money was used to address any of these problems. One of the reasons I moved to Canada was to have a better life style, more buying power and better future for my future kids. But at this point I feel like I am living in a zombie land. High skilled workers will have some other opportunities elsewhere but refugees and low skilled workers will be stuck in Canada and it will get only worse with the current policies.

i am from ameirca moved to egypt lived there off and on for 10 years last time was 5 years to sum it up it not worth it........ the culture in egypt is very harsh and unislamic. the athan has been lowered so you can barely hear it unless you are living right next to the masjid. your Eids and jumuahs are Gov. controlled meaning jumuah is precisely 25 mins no more than that, you stay longer in the masjid because you want to have time alone you will be scorned and be seen as a terrorist. the cleaners may even tell you to get out as well.\n your daughters will be told that the hijab is not compulsory and how dare you wear niqab in university. you will never be treated as equals even if you have Egyptian parents but were raised abroad. The economic situtation is in shambles, dont exspect safe places for your children play or just be, pedos are rampant ( I know cause i put one in prison) you want to go the beach? lol half them dont accept women in islamic swimsuits ( or anything remotley resembling it) it is a bikini only beach the other half are dirty and a down right hazard.\nthere is more i can write but my sincere advice to anyone is to visit a place abroad thats great, but living is a different ball game i wasted 10 years of my life searching for a life that didnt exist and i wouldnt want that for anyone else. change your life where you are, and make your utopia where you are.

Public safety should never be compromised. Canada and the US are on the wrong track and both these countries need to punched pretty bad so that they learn a lesson. Both these countries have decriminalized crimial behavior and habits. Drug use and drug trade is very prolific in bth these countries and violent crimminals are operating with impunity. Of course, we didn;t get here in one day and it is the majority of voters who are respoinsible for this situation in both these countries.
