One slight concern is that skilled wages are already lower in Canada and venture capital is far less accessible so it's harder to get the full benefit of these skilled workers.\n\nIt will be interesting to see how this plays out in terms of bifurcation of wealth in Canada as housing prices will only continue to soar but mass skilled immigration should keep wages relatively steady. ?

I sympathise with the individual, but per country limits are genius — feelings aside. They bring about greater diversity, protect wages, and one might argue they are of national security interest.\n\nI would invite any immigrant to put themselves in the US’ shoes. For example, if India were to become a hotspot for immigration, and suddenly millions of foreigners from some country, say China, were applying for immigration each year into India, what policy would you enact as an Indian citizen?\n\nCanada is on a path of reckoning in my opinion. Interest rates are increasing as well as rental cost increasing also and our federal warns that if we get raises in wages that will increase inflation if we get any raises in five years and like I stated before I’m close to retirement actually delayed because my pension after working 40 years in Canada is either or at the poverty level on Canada including many of the working poor living close or at the poverty level !

Not a chance in hell would I ever consider moving to the US. Hell, I'm not even interested in visiting anymore! I don't have to pay any monthly fee for health care. Nor do I have to pay a co pay. My feelings get hurt, I can visit my doc for free ;) There are literally no reasons a Canadian would WANT to move to US.

Montreal was never mentioned in this report, yet considered the most interesting city in the country, more comparable to New York than Toronto claims to be from the points of view of architecture, arts, culture, cosmopolitanism, higher education, quality of life, security, accessibility, transport, close to nature and, of course, to the legendary joie de vivre of its inhabitants.

The fact that bank leaders are white with English names is not necessarily evidence of racism. It could simply be that members of other communities are not as interested in going into banking. Are there policies keeping other communities out of such a positions?

I have been to 25 countries across uk,Europe,north America,Middle East , hog kong,Singapore,never felt anywhere better than India. Yes other countries are definitely better in typical infrastructure but still India scores lot better in other things. I am today a senior grandfather. I have spent much time in the USA, from Texas, New York, and out west in Ohio and California. I found the people I met and befriended and business partners to be as nice as Canadians. Most were generous in all ways. At some point, I thought about relocating, but...\n\nCanada had less money to offer as income, but considerably less expense. Nearly free university, a well educated population, a government not controlled by corporate money or interests. We have no right to have guns, though some of the well-to-do have hunting rifles. We do not live in fear if a stranger knocks on the door. We have government medical and prescription protection. Noone, repeat, has guns at home.\nRegarding prescription insurance, I pay a small fee per month ($30) and I have the government cover 80% of the cost. My kids, until age 18 were also covered for medication.\nUniversity at today cost is about $400/course plus $350/semister.\nDoctor visits are free, as well as hospital stays and surgery.\nThe average Canadian lifespan is 3-4 years more than the USA.\nThe cost of living is higher by 1/3 for food. Housing is about the same or slightly more, because we have winters and need to heat in winter and a/c in summer. Even so, electricity or gas is less expensive.\n\nSummary. With less money, we have a higher standard of living.

Just watched a video about Gary, Indiana and I'm shocked. How do you let so much of your housing and infrastructure fall to pieces? Toxic capitalism. Gun culture. Rampant racism. When I realized that what I loved about America was a myth, I lost interest in living there.

I’m a Canadian myself, and it’s very interesting to see your reaction to Canadian’s response to that question. I think what you said about being desensitizing is true, I think because the gun violence, the crazy politics, and the attacks on women’s and minority rights, these are things that have become so common in the US that American started to see these things as “normal”. And to a lot of Canadians, these are our core values. A lot of us are proud that we don’t have that (serious of) these issues here, so I am not surprised in any sense that majority if not all of those people in that subreddit said no.\n\nI used to travel to the US for a living, and I actually asked to change my job so I don’t have to do that anymore. I didn’t feel safe, I didn’t feel good when I travel there. You mentioned it’s depending on the cities, and you might be right, but I can tell you I have met A LOT of very crazy people during my years of travels, and they are all friend very different places: the east, the south, the west, big and small cities.

It was so interesting to see the Pakistani couple scheming so hard to just find a way to get out of Pakistan the man cunningly schemed even in marrying a Pakistani girl,who will study in Australia & the guy will piggyback her to follow to Australia & scheme even to get his parents into Australua, whereas Indians only want to further their careers & maybe return to India in future.

Housing affordability needs to come down 200%. We need to turn up the interest rates for another year. The fix is deflation in housing.

Or even worse off than this,throughout the years the two will watch random people who have no degree,no language,no skills,no interest in learning American culture walking into the US with their lottery won Green Cards and living a life full certainity,comfort and prosperity.They also commit in frauds and other money related crimes to make easy money in their new land.They will even have the right to vote in few years.This DV lottery system must end,who will prompt an action on this at WH who knows

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

Why MUST white countries become diverse to the point of becoming culturally and racially incoherent? Why are only white countries targeted for such policies? And why aren't white people ever allowed to stand up for themselves and their own interests? Why must we be targeted for decimation and disenfranchisement in this way?

I usually really like PolyMatter but this video is clearly biased and missing important details. \n\nWhat this video does not talk about is that we already have millions of H1B in this country competing for jobs with American citizens; go into any IT department of most banks, and you will find mostly H1B workers. Walking into any major university career fair, you will see the predatorial scene of hordes of foreign master students competing against American bachelors for the same new grad jobs; with many of the foreign students already having real career experience in their own country competing against inexperienced American young adults. \n\nThis video also does not mention the H1B lottery is not a single-try event. Everyone is given 3 tries and it refreshes if you get another American degree. \n\nLastly, this video does not mention the fact that people not on American soil could also apply for the H1B lottery which contributes further to the low rate. \n\nComparing pays between companies was ridiculous in this video's context. Google L3 in America should be compared with Google L3 in Canada, which are not very different in pay, after adjusting for the cost of living.\n\nIn terms of the country cap, just because some countries happen to have more people than other countries, it's not America's problem to solve; America has to do what is in the best interest of America. In this case, America simply decided to prioritize diversity in yearly admittees.

Definitely a Hell No to moving the US. Americans either identify as Democrat or Republican. They make a political party part of their personality and blindly vote for that party every election regardless of how corrupt their politicians are. I used to enjoy visiting the US as a kid, but it has become so crazy that I have zero interest in visiting it now.

As an Australian in his 50’s, I grew up idolising the US. I’ve been there a few times and loved it and have some close friends in the US. \n\nBUT…. I have been following US politics closely and I have absolutely no interest in even visiting there again. My friends are actually planning to move away as soon as possible. \n\nIt really saddens me to be honest.
