It’s beautiful. The plan has worked. The elites have broken the system with their greed, used politicians and media to whip up anti immigrant feelings, and the majority buy it and blame immigrants.

Honestly as an Immigrant I was definitely lied to by the country of Canada, and tbh this concern is lined with racism to an extent, but there are some valid concern for the most part. \n\nCanadian universities came to me high school, one of the academically successful high schools on my island and tried to take every single high performing student. Honestly immigrantion is an issue for everyone, but it won’t stop until the bigger western countries stop making oppressive laws forcing people out of their country. \n\nThis is not the immigrants problem, Canada is the problem. Also I lived in Toronto, the biggest issue is NOT immigration, the issue is the fact that they are tearing down cultural institutions to build condos. condos are a bigger problem than immigrants. Canada is pricing Canadians out of housing, then blaming immigrants. You guys need to see that for what it is, because a lot of us were lied to, Canada is lying to all of us, its citizens and its immigrants.

Well blame the politicians

The problem with some of the immigration is that some forget the values and ethics! Canadians themselves are to be blamed. If you want free healthcare and handouts, then the government must raise revenues, and those revenues come from immigration. If you do not want problems then do not create problems. Get rid of free healthcare and cut those government welfare programs.

While some comments suggest that so-called immigration consultants from other countries are responsible for sending students, isn't it ultimately the responsibility of the Canadian government to reject the visas? If I were to send 1 million students tomorrow, would you blame me, or the government that approved visas for these 1 million students?

It's easy to blame immigrants and PM Trudeau for infrastructure and housing issues, but these are long-standing problems. Canada, especially Toronto, hasn't built enough housing for decades under multiple prime ministers. Inflation and interest rates have worsened the situation, and it's not just about building more affordable homes.\n\nThese are complex problems. Canada, like all developed nations, needs immigration. We can debate the numbers but not the need. Even if we stopped immigration tomorrow, the need for more affordable housing wouldn't change.

The Canadian government is to be blamed

It’s not the immigrants to blame, but the reckless leftist government buying potential votes by selling the wrong picture of what immigrant life will look like and by providing welfare on demand. Many immigrants do not work, but recieve soicial assistance especially once they get children, and eventually they settle into mediocre life and no longer look for work. Our government is dishonest and deprives newcomers of their agency.

It is far too easy to get a work visa and subsequent PR status. The government is to blame for that. We need to be selective when it comes to granting working visa and permanent resident status.

The only hope for this country is Poilievre. I say this as someone who is shall we say less than enamored of him. Trudeau, meanwhile, still can't even be convinced to lower immigration, still can't be convinced there is one single thing wrong with the huge numbers he's bringing in, still just blames the provinces for not building housing fast enough.

Immigration is driven by corporations who want cheap and compliant labour, post secondary institutions who want to fleece international students and landlords/construction companies who want people to pay ripoff prices for rentals and homes. People are unhappy and they are looking for someone to blame.
