Now, you may think that worsening relations with India is a good thing for Canada, yeah no, its not good because India has trade relations with Canada which may worsen due to this (yeah, great going for an economy which is already in shambles) and UK or US are not gonna do anything to India over Canada because India geopolitically has more significance than Canada (I'm not bragging, please don't misunderstand). Maybe because djt was one of the negotiators for the US when NAFTA ended, & was replaced by the new Free Trade agreement for we three N.Amer countries. He signed it. So what now? He's torn it up? Mexico is the only country in the world that has all the existing resources of all kinds and does not need any foreign products to survive. You are mostly talking about the big cities. I will bet that things haven't changed that much is your small town in Saskatchewan. Too many people are gravitating to the large cities. The wealth of our nation was built with our farms, mines, forests, etc. Trades people and farmers built this country. It seems to me better than punitive percentage tariffs is that each foreign country can buy American products first from tracked like product categories. The United States Counts how many units of that type of United States made product was bought first by a foreign  country. Then United States consumers, or companies are allowed to buy the same matching unit count of foreign products from like categories.  In this way no foreign company selling into the United States can fluid the United States Market with cheap foreign government subsidized goods. In this tracked unit count system of fair trade one American made unit sale for one foreign made like unit sale can take place.

The solution is not more tariffs. Mexico and Canada should simply ban all trade with the USA and develop a system of free trade with Europe and China.

As a Canadian all I can say is that it is time to find better partners then a quixotic USA. Here is a great option for Canada and Mexico: we have 2 months to negotiate with China and set up back-end rebates to incentivize Canadian companies to export places other than the USA. Now we can have a trade war and starve the USA of necessary products because we found other markets.

China has positioned itself not to be so reliable on U.S trade, instead looking at other trade partners as a replacement. So, the fact that Biden kept the tariffs in place really did not matter much.

Canada and Mexico have trade agreements with European countries and China. American companies and citizens will pay more for everything. Nice veggies from Mexico, +25% more. Construction lumber from Canada, +25%. Houses will cost more. Walmart is already the biggest purchaser of Chinese goods in the world. Tariffs on those as well? Plus 25%.

I am a Canadian and the province in which I live trades with the U.S. so obviously both countries will suffer\n with higher tariffs. If Americans think that these tariffs are a good thing for America you better think again. Obviously prices will rise.As I have been thinking all along Trump will ruin America and the world.

Simple solution if you guys don't like this, don't trade with America. Us here in Australia will. But if the U.S. ain't good enough for you guys to trade with, don't be trying to trade with us down here in Australia. Our natural resources are for those we deem worthy, and if the U.S. isn't trading with you, you ain't worth our time.
