Nobody is mentioning the peace in developed country.

Yes actually I do have a comment or two. I think that Toronto has become the victim of either its own success as a multicultural, diverse and growing metropolis or the perceived idea that Toronto is the place to be. And what that brings with it? Yes, people who are interested in living the life and those who can afford it pay it. You said it very well, the city has become unaffordable to most people but the wealthy or at least those who are getting paid the best salaries and those who bank on real estate take advantage of this, be it the hype or reality since also, most job opportunities are still there. So to me the problem is with the lack of contro of the real estate market. And people who cant pay but for whatever reason live there just have to pay the price. The refugee situation is not surprising to me at all. We are struggling with affordable housing for crying out loud but we are also advertising to the world that we are that welcoming and peaceful society that those people can be part of. But at what cost. Toronto cannot continue like this if it will still be considered as a city for the people and not the wealthy and chronically increasing poor. No wonder they chose a progressive for a mayor and not a conservative or hard line liberal because people want change but not radically. People want to live in the best city they can having all necessary services and in peace and safety. So, there are so maby layers to pill here but again, the main reason why things have gotten the way they are is because they let real estate run unleashed. All the best, Alina.

My eldest daughter is in UK, 2nd daughter is in USA third one is in Canada, two of them are medical Dr's the third one is Civel Engr, I thanks to my Lord Allah I am not abroad and leading very comfortable ,peaceful quite life here, and I don't want to settle any where abroad, I have maids for my personal help, Full medical facilities, Easy to shop near my home , careing neighbors , each and every facilities one can imagine with in my vicinity, thanks to Allah I am in my own country, & happy .

Praji, is there anything like retired life of sr citizens in Canada?. The ultimate cure to this disease is not that complicated, just conflicts with our moral values. No price is too high to pay for securing the continuation of the future peace.

And, here I am not knowing why I immigrated to Canada from India amid this chaos, but, I feel safe and secure that I atleast have an option to return back to my home country and live a peaceful and fulfilling life whereas these people who are born Canadians have no choice and have to suffer. It's pity what their own people and government did to them. Also, why are the youth so much into drugs and bad habits??? I mean, it is not good when the younger population instead of investing their time and energy in the better of the society have to do such horrible acts to further increase the homelessness.

USA - Gun violence, expensive healthcare, expensive universities, huge military budget\nCanada - Peace, free healthcare, cheap universities, country budget focused on people welfare\nCanada is 1000 times better than USA.

We all need to understand this is all political between both countries. If the Governments would have wanted to fix it, it would have been fixed years and centuries ago. But nooooo, they won’t because they used it for political matters they don’t care about anyone. So we all need to be humanitarian and work on both countries to make life better samaritans we all need to have respected lives and safe lives in peace it’s getting harder and harder. As an older person who migrated decades ago after protesting in my old country, I encourage young people below 45 to FIGHT for your countries. Fight bad goverments. 7 billion people on the planet cannot move to the few western countries that seem to work and appear attractive on the surface, it’s not possible. The taxpayers in those countries are feeling it. Look at the folks sleeping on the floor in NY! The homeless citizens don’t have places to sleep but politicians are lodging new border crossing migrants in hotels at taxpayers expense, creating resentment! \n\nFight those oppressing you in your countries. Black America “fought” to eliminate Jim Crow so we can even move here. Black America and the White allies who struggled for civil rights ARE the reason the west has even been tolerant of the amount of immigration in the last 40 years! \n\nThere is no peace without a fight… even after the civil rights fights including the million man March 60 years ago? by MLK, the struggle against racism continues. \n\nHe left because of his children but will find out in 25 years time that they will want to connect with their roots even after succeeding in the West. \n\nYoung folks, take African, Latin American, Caribbean and Asian countries back from oppressive greedy corrupt rulers to reduce the need to leave our places of birth. They find out too late! \n\nWestern politicians and governments need to stop cooperating with oppressive governments in these areas if they truly want to tackle immigration. Freeze their stolen loot like we did to the Russian oligarchs, force them to return the loot into their various economies and create good middle class jobs! \n\nThe west works because most work is assembly line in nature, glorifies slavery. A doctor has a target of about 15 to 20 patients to see per day and rushes you out of his office because the corporation he works for only cares about money and KPIs! You really aren’t allowed to interact with patients and provide personalized service. A pharmacist has to fill anything between 200 to 350 prescriptions, give a certain number of immunizations and see a certain No of patients per day. There is no time for niceties! A corporate professional May work remotely but has to deliver on so many projects he is up till 10pm and only gets up to eat. We have beautiful homes, drive nice cars etc but MUST work like the clock in an assembly line fashion! Most of us pay so much of our income as taxes we end up with less than 70% as paychecks! Things aren’t always what they seem!

I moved here towards the end of 1999,and my older brother moved here early 2000. He was already established back home,while I moved here from my university. He went back after six months,came back after six month to spend another six month. He left and have not returned since then. He found out it was better for him over there. I on the other hand, was studying for my engineering; so it was better for me to stay. If you are already established where you are, I will advise you travel abroad for vacations, but don't sell all you have thinking you are travelling to paradise. I will say, travel for your own education or your children's education sake, for peace sake,for medical sake; outside of those, it might not be worth it.

Yes we do need to help disadvantage Americans first but let's be fr its enough resources for the world to have Peace if we work together but the powers that be will always put us up against each other so we don't recognize who the real enemy is. I'm an engineer in the US atm on an H1B. I got it on my last go. I know what awaits me and for me there are more important things than money. Yes the money is good here but I dont have the freedom to do other jobs or business like everyone else. I'll be moving to CA soon. Can't put a price on peace of mind
