Canada has become a joke. All my friends and family that have moved to the US in recent years haven't looked back.

I escaped Brampton 12 years ago and never looked back. This report confirms I could see what was coming and made a very wise decision. I thank my lucky stars every single day!

Did immigrants not look in to things like this before wanting to live in Canada? I am going to be honest. All though I have lived in Canada 20 years ago. Felt very much at home. I also saw a country that is far from being better on the important topics for living a life. People want to immigrate go to countries where they can. In Denmark immigrants are not wanted, but is a more balanced country on most topics to live in if you want better. ???

Wow any idea why people are crazy to enter canada bcoz standard of livibg is good in your country and any idea how much cost it occurs to stay and study in canada i am not good in conversions but lemme tell u its very very high people literally sell everything they have in india to go and study there now just assume why do people sell like crazy people just to study i mean think about it bcoz of PR they sell like crazy if they can invest that amount in india they can get a degree from good universities in india and good jobs but if the same amount is invested in canada the standard of living will improve by obtaining canadian citizenship now if u r sane person think about it its all about standard of living and its not crime to look for better life and at the start of applying in universities of canada a job and PR were available as options so indians applief there with that intention now if u change those rules overnight the money we invested is just thrown into dustbin and i dont know why people think its wrong things to even protest on that if u hate immigration that badly dont show ur anger on indians or other immigrants show that anger on ut government for showing us indians a better future and allowing us indians to enter ur country legally with PR in future prospect Nd why do u think even after such outrage on immigration canada yet allows immigrants bcoz its simple people spend like crazy for such oppurtunities and canada has taken advantage of that and now canadians like we got ur money so get out from our country wow i ddidnt know people can be this greedy and selfish.

I live in India, and I can confirm that majority of the youngters here want to migrate to a foreign country. Even I went to Dubai to work, but came back and pretty much settled here. Many people resign their jobs and migrate. I really don't understand. Looks like it is a trend which will change in future.

Some of those students look much older then what I think a student would be. I shop at a independent grocery store not part of a chain well I know all the ladies that work at the cash registers about 2 weeks ago I go shopping I thought I was in a different country everyone working the cash registers was from India all students but let's remember give business owners a payout for hiring these students so the business saves money and get cheap labour iam against this it's counter productive for Canada.

Reading most of the comments I agree they should go back where they came from. But look at it from Trudeau’s point of view, if he lets them stay they will likely vote for him in the next election . He will have to give them the right to vote, but isn’t that in the works already too? Besides you simply need a Canadian driver’s licence and place of residence to vote isn’t it? The Liberal government will likely find some form of permit extension for about a year or 2, because to initiate any form of deportation will look bad politically. They will leave the problem for the Conservative government to deal with knowing it will be difficult to depart hundreds of thousands of international Indian students/temporary foreign works (and other people groups), and manipulate the situation to gain political capital.

Second this is country of immigrants ,if there were no immigrants you would only see the local Aboriginal Peoples. Remember The protest, which was called the Freedom Convoy, that many Canadians were a part of and look at the reputations many of them endured because they stood up for what they believed in. Now international students protest across Canada because they want to stay once their student visa expires, and they have a chance to be granted their demands; I don't see our PM threatening to freeze their bank accounts. I just don't get it.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of these protests were paid and organized umm I dunno that party with a Sikh leader... you guys should look into that.

It's not the fault of the student's. They pay a lot to get here and they work in the service jobs that many young Canadians do not want to work in if we even have enough native born Canadians. They are victims of the greed of Post Secondary institutions and the mismanagement of the Trudeau government. Take a look at the open immigration policy for people coming from Iran, Syria and Morocco. Last time I looked Iran was not a friend yet we open the door to these countries. No vetting, no security and no age limit. 70 plus years old coming to Canada on Work Permits. This will affect our healthcare. Indian students paid and worked for their chance to live here. Take a look. Investigate the special programs for different countries in the middle east.

I think the main objective of “international student “ program is being ignored and lost here. The objective of bringing “international students” to a country is for them to study and after they finish their studies to go back to their country. Isn’t that the case? Absolutely, there should be no other expectations.Then why are they even entertaining this nonsense. Unless they want to use the “International student” program as a backdoor to enter and work in Canada, and it looks like that’s the case. They finished their “studies” they need to go back to their home country.

Canadians should ask themselves this…how many Indians move to Brampton and collect welfare? Looks like Indians own the businesses in Brampton. That is immigration at its best. Indians appear to add to the economy and prosper. In US Mexican immigrants come to take welfare. Make babies, not get married as then man’s income is part of household and less $$from government, and collect WIC, food stamps, housing subsidies and monthly welfare checks.
