As a construction labour and canadian citizen. I can say that not too many people are comming to construction industry. They would rather have cushy jobs which canada dont have anymore. I my self and no inspired to start my own business in same industry i work as labour.

Why come to Canada if you are a professional? canada is going downhill quickly with its economic crisis, housing crisis, marjwuana being legalized and homeless in the rise, the towns look like zombie town with the homeless everywhere and their left behind garbages , and on top of this the cold weather, -for sure immigrants will leave. The behavioural issues in Canadian schools is going to be a major setback to Canada in the future as more and more unruly citizens are been shaped up every year with no job skills, ending in drugs, welfare, guns and more. Canada used to have a class to live… not anymore

What is canada good for? Its not safe anymore. The medical departments sucks and the justice system suck, getting a job is hard and cannot afford house, rent or food. Most of us live onlg basic and in debt. The extrem cold winters and short depressing days dont help. All this said im still gratefully to God and know people live far worst.

Property taxes, utilities price (especially ELECTRICITY) are murderous. I would agree with the food price going up 4 times higher than 3 years ago, if it was of a decent quality. You would not find a normal natural potato, beets, corn. All if these are genetically modified. Meat and dairy are coming from the animals that are not fed with grass, but with something else, and treated with antibiotics. There is no healthy and natural food for the general population. You can't even give candies to kids anymore - palm oil!

There was an asian ESL language teacher woman in 2016 in west hill high school who was 100% rassist vs white students she went so faar she forced an older student to sign a paper about he not wanna parcipiate in ESL school anymore. Another catholic school Mary Ward LINC & ESL Centre 44 Kelvinway Drive, Scarborough, ON M1W 1N6 had teacher woman who forced jewish and muslim students to parcipiate in christmas celebration. So half of that class leaved that catholic school. there theyre went so faar theyre not let an israelite student to study there and forced the best teacher to go to go to her early pension status becouse she was liberal and backed many students there before. Theyre even maybe sent message to other catholic school to bully that student. He not went to any catholic school anymore in toronto even if those were at last not so faar from his living place.

Reality is: unless you have to stay with no other option, it makes sense to leave. Canada isn't anymore what it used to be.

This has been building for at least two decades and I'm surprised that only now people are talking about this. There are few reasons anymore for quality immigrants to come to Canada. The only people coming here and staying are people coming from God-forsaken places that make Canada look like paradise, or wealthy investor immigrants who buy property here and maybe only live here for six months of the year.

This liberal government is so out of touch its rediculous. Our immigration minister is obviously just trying to collect a paycheck as bringing in over a million immigrants from now til 2026 is not the answer. Right now, our jobs and housing is in big trouble where even Canadians born here are having a hard time. They are trying to implement programs that just won't work. Try asking the average Canadian for common sense answers. Bringing in immigrants to build homes and work at Tim Hortons and McDonald's isnt the answer. Immigration numbers are destroying this country and this country literally isn't Canada anymore. PS. If you fly any other flag thats not Canadian in protest, go home because that crap is not acceptable. Take that crap back to your birth country.

I love Canada, especially Toronto, my home for 20+ years. But I totally agree, in the past 5+ years, since 2015/2016, I noticed lots of changes to terrible, and never the same anymore. Although, I'm still very positive, there are still things that are amazing (i.e. events, volunteer opportunities), with extra caution, and visit other cities. Just living day-by-day, count blessings, focus on positivity, appreciate, and be thankful.

I was born here and my family is planning on leaving. Canada is not the same anymore. Truly sad.

Yikes! Born and raised in Syracuse, NY and after college spent 16 years in Los Angeles until finally moving back to NY last year. Any comparison between Toronto and L.A. I simply won't stand for.....and I really mean that because you have less gun violence, seems like more cultures get along there, plus it looks cleaner. I'd consider moving to Buffalo just to be within an hour of Toronto to take weekend trips. After seeing how the rents up there are close to SF or NYC, def can't move there anymore. There's an appeal Canada has in terms of safety and perhaps better quality of life than the U.S. but frustrating to see housing crisis is even worse up there! I'd hate to see Toronto start to remind people of anything remotely close to California. Def sounds like you need a new PM asap. After seeing your Montreal video, think I'll take a short trip up there instead.

We live in usa since 28 yrs, We are ok as our whole family is in abroad, but We recently took a trip to Canada, in Brampton and we were shocked nothing to put down but we felt it’s India except fee things, as everywhere u see Indians, employees are Indians, jn my uncle’s street 99% were Indians, my cousin told me in his class all students are Indians even the teacher and there were some more things that I can’t explain in words, because during childhood when we took trip to same place we felt we came to Canada but not anymore, I think Canadians are tired of Indians they mostlyhave diff ares where most Canadians live and areas where Indian community and we felt lucky we are only traveling here, so it’s better to live in India instead…

I always wondered why I had to be here when the snow tilted between 45 and 60 degrees in winter and hit my face at 30-40 km/h.\nquality of food, transportation, service from employees, speed of processing time, etc there were many things that made me really unsatisfied being living in Toronto.\nsame, at the first time I came Toronto, everything looks great. but not anymore \nI'm korean and I feel really unsafe when I go and live abroad. Korea, Japan, Singapore mainly all Asian countries are top 5 in safety all over the world I think. \nAsia especially Korean and Japan have great service, quality of food with reasonable price. I think I don't need to move foreign country. \nmy background is in South Korea but I can say living in Toronto Canada was horrible and harsh for Korean. Because of multiple reasons but the harsh weather is the biggest for me. Feels like winter in Toronto is 7~8 months long if I compare it to winter in Korea. Fall and Spring?? No, they don't have fall and spring and it's all winter. they have snow in early September late April or May. It was horribly hard because the cold air from the arctic and really powerful wind came all together. even though the weather and temperature look a little bit off from Korea, Canada has a much more harsh location with weather. not only harsh weather but they do provide really embarrassing experience such as expensive payment for everything, a lot of factors disturb me from leaking money. I don't think Canada is a good country. my view of this country totally has been changed 3 years ago.

If you are here for like 15-20 + years, then things might be different for you. Australia is like middle of no where, but cost of living is not as high as Canada, and wages are higher. I used to think we were very much the same and I wanted to live in the US for the weather. But as we go often I have found the atmosphere and attitude has changed greatly in the last few years. People we used to be friends with don’t speak to me anymore as I called them on their awful beliefs. I know it’s not everyone but those beliefs have become way more common. The US used to be more global but now has become way more worried about themselves. \nYou can not talk about politics in a way that’s just a calm exchange, the hate is palpable. I went to an event the morning after a mass shooting and was visibly upset, not one person there talked about it or really thought about it. I asked someone about their thoughts and said “I don’t know why we have so many shootings here in the US” \nEducation is my next thing. The people I talk to know nothing about Canada and that’s not such a surprise but I know more about the US than most Americans I’ve talked to.\nI agree with a comment previously 26:29 that the north east is better educated and less dangerous.\nI feel bad for you as this is harsh but even on the news when Americans talk about being the greatest country etc on earth it feels arrogant. Coming from where I come from, Canadian healthcare system sucks.\nI do not have dental and vision or medication coverage anymore.\nThen there are some medical procedures that are not covered as they do not consider it important, varies by province.\nSo take your pick.

Im Canadian and would prefer to be in America only if the political climate wasnt so crazy. Id miss our free health care but alot of our doctors are poor quality. The gun violence in the States sxares me too. Im sick of Canadian weather and the price of everything here, abd the low selection. I love our beautiful landscape...but the rain ruins it fir me. I prefer sunny skies, blue seas and palm trees. Ultimately theres stuff I like and dislike in both countries..but America seems better when it comes to getting ahead if you can get a good paying job...and...THE SUNSHINE ? It would be great to have dual citizenship..Im not sure if thats a thing anymore.

I moved in Toronto in 2015 and been living here since then. I was really happy to move here and became a resident and citizen. It was what I wanted for a long time. Now I can’t deny the fact that I’m not feeling in alignment with this city anymore. Hustle & bustle to cover your basic physiological needs get in the way of my peace and mental health. It has even become stronger after the shutdown. I’m currently planning my solo packaging trip to South East Asia and really considering moving out of Canada in the next year.
