As a person living for around twenty years in Canada, the real problem is too much supply of human resources from outside Canada especially from India. This is around 35% and trying to concentrate in certain areas of Canada. This has caused too much burden on Health care, Transportation, housing, and other public services in those areas. Unlike the time I migrated to Canada, all places are now overcrowded. There are not enough job opportunities due to the large influx of students. Thousands of applicants for one job from the day they arrive here. You can get some idea of how many applied on the job site Indeed. This has resulted in companies and job agencies exploiting students by paying low wages and firing them indiscriminately. Therefore, both the Canadian government and the Indian government have a role to play and Students too should be aware of the real situation here.

I was just forced by my husband to come here in 2010. I never plan to live abroad but I went for the sake of the kids and dont want regret. My husband is mentally ill even before we got married(family took advantage of me when they saw I was an independent widow that time). Upon arriving here, nothing was prepared,no beds no nothing just the social housing and he was already orienting me to get food from food bank and simply convinced me to follow here for the child benefits,free education and healthcare. Let me just mention, the family of my husband is claiming they were rich and prominent in the Philippines. Fast forward....14 years after, he didnt get a house for us....I just ran after him for child support....he didnt finish the divorce process that I ask him to do upon arrival....now, that its time for him to pay tution fee for college, he is mad! He is so desperate that he brainwashed one of his sons to blame me and make me feel like the whole thing is my fault! My son almost killed me last time bec his dad getting sympathy and ranting that he has no money. This is the biggest regret of my life......I believe if my sons are educated and grew up in the Philippines, they are more happy and was able to tap all their talents and intelligence. I am done here! And for people telling me that the money we earn here we dont get in the Philippines....sorry, my peace of mind and dignity has no price tag. I am not materialistic too. Respect to humanity is all we need!

I think Canada is still one of the best countries in the world. Some of the countries that have high rankings of happiness have free university, humane incarceration, much better health care,m and everyone has a family doctor, and many amenities to make life more productive and healthy. I’m fine paying more taxes for those societal benefits but many aren’t. Society is what we make it to be honest. Staying put and digging in and contributing to good in your community is a great way to improve city life. I think you are far too concerned with what things cost to do that unfortunately. Thailand is cheap as hell but I could never tolerate the low wages paid to vulnerable, hard workers, and the profound poverty, not to mention sex tourism. Trashing cities and departing isn’t helpful. Partner was an assistant professor at UT, after five years we decided the city was completely unaffordable and we would never be able to afford to buy our own house, so we packed and left the country. The further lack of competition in the economy is extraordinary and adds significantly to the inflation of retail prices, especially in food. I'm from India and was in Indianapolis on work for one month. I thought i'll go nuts from the sheer lack of human contact. Practically nobody to talk to, the roads are empty, the streets are empty. If you start a random conversation with a guy in the street, he totally freaks out. Maybe it's different in other places but man it was very very depressing and i just couldn't wait to fly back. Of course, i love American people and they are very warm if you know them from before but strangers exchanging pleasantries, that is absent. It would be nice to just see people on the streets but no. Not sure how the kids keep themselves entertained

According to many, it is not immigrants; it is native Canadians leaving Canada. That's so sad to hear. Because they didn't like some government policies, they decided to leave the country.They don't love their country.Their love is conditional. Good luck to those so-called Canadians. Came to Canada from Kuwait looking for a better future. Big mistake, shouldn't have flapped my gums at work, i had a decent banking job with a career and a future. Now im stuck driving a effin truck with a bachelors degree to make slightly above average with 0 appreciation from the public, and a middle finger to say thank you for my 70 hour work weeks. I see my bed once every 3 days. I sleep next to rats and roaches in truck by the ports. Belittled by port workers and customs agents. Barked at by everyone down to a forklift driver. Looked at as lesser of a human because of the colour of my skin. What a horrible life :( My sister has already left and she was a dentist in Toronto. My mom went back ages ago. My dad is the only one wanting to stay to take care of his elderly patients, many rely on him. All i do is pay taxes and hide my money in the business, what a corrupt and horrible financial system.

I am an old woman. I still haven't figured out how humans can't just respect each other. As long as you don't force me to believe what you believe and I don't force you to believe what I believe and we all respect each other, I have zero issue with anyone. I am not a believer, but I hold those who do with respect. I am a nurse and I make sure my religious patients are supported to the very best of my abilities.

Almost a million foreign students allowed in country of 34 M people ! Mind boggling to say the least. Why is this problem happening ? Obviously, the minister Trudeau installed to run this, is incompetent, of low ID, or doesn’t care. Don’t blame the schools. Those who run these schools are like us, human beings, being thirsty for “money” is nothing out of the ordinary ! Getting $10K/yr. for a domestic student + subsidy fr. government of say another $10K, is about a third of a foreign student has to pay. Do the math !
