Hopeless.... it took people 10 years to wake up to the issue...how pathetic. This explains why the housing crisis and ensuing abuses are increasing at an astronomical rate in BC, namely Vancouver. The Residential Tenancy Board and its legislation DO NOT PROTECT *MOST* renters in Vancouver. If you know this has and most likely *continues* to be an issue, wake up!! Descent Canadians are struggling in BC and the provincial government is an absolute and sad joke!

Hmmm..\nCanada is bigger in size, and tax rates are higher. When you need prescriptions or even surgery, however, you don't stress as much thinking about and don't mind the higher taxes.

Canada has a very high cost of living. In Toronto or Vancouver,$1800/month rent for an average apartment, houses are at least $750,000 in a decent area. Cellphone and internet rates are among highest in world. Groceries and alcohol are expensive compared to US and UK. Extreme cold weather 5 months a year even in southern cities like Toronto. Spotty transit service compared to European and Asian cities. Much of the country is undeveloped because of extreme weather. Most Canadians live within 60 miles of the USA border.\n\nAdvantages of Canada : it is reasonably rich and technologically advanced. Free and democratic although not like the USA. Lots of open space outside large cities. And very quiet , peaceful but uneventful country.

Coming from Germany we are used to high taxes. If I’d earn 100k CAD here I would get only 55k...but health insurance is already covered.\nBe aware when you start working in Canada but you’re not considered a permanent resident in that tax year. You have to pay a higher tax rate since you’re not a permanent resident. So if they hire you as a permanent resident (what they usually do cause they don’t know) you need to pay extra after submitting your tax return ;-)

People also biased againi have ODSP. movers refuse to deliver to community housing. Rogers has community housing list where you get a low rate based in income but aafter 10 days I have had no communication in spite I'd me trying to call and email a s the us is AFTER THEY took all my info. Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

So, if we use the idea that incarceration rates are a sign of systemic bias, wouldn't this suggest that Asians receive a positive bias?\n\nAnother interesting statistic is that Japanese Canadians earn an average of 3.7% more than their Caucasian peers. This makes me think what we're seeing here is a systemic bias towards wealth, not race.

The facts surrounding cannabis sales (demographic, buys) in Canada after it was legalized should be the most damning statistic there is. How does the RCMP justify their historical arrest rate of black and Indigenous people for cannabis possession when you see the actual demographic and customer base for cannabis.

It's natural to be more favorable toward people who most resemble you. It's not right to give different rental rates based on race, but just showing pictures of faces and reactions to them proves nothing.

Eliminate racism at its root cause. As long as crime rate by race is disproportionate, people with common sense are going to stereotype.\nTry test this by walking into detroit when you are black, white and asian.. some might not literally survive.

Who are blaming for racial profiling, Canadian people? Maybe these racialized groups have showen more trouble in all areas of lives like higher unemployement rate, drug use, criminality, slums... The UK is worse than this. Illegal imigrants get money, free housing, mobile phones, cars, tv's, white goods, cloathes, shoes, lawyers, NHS placement, holidays, education and much, much more free stuff. UK citizens are sick of paying for foreign scroungers. Our OAOP's can't get winter heating allowances or a rise in pension rates. Diabetics can't get free chiropody now. RN's work for peanuts and take 2nd jobs to pay bills.

I work retail in a bad town, I follow you if your hat has a flat bill. For theft my success rate is 99%

Living in Canada for almost 3 decades, feel pretty safe & understand ppl in the street. But this few yrs, crime rate jump so much & I do not understand many ppl on the street. They not speak English. Canada is turning into a place very different nowadays. If I have enough money, I will leave . Poland seems a good place to migrate?

I can give you plenty of examples of being racially profiled as a white man, like the time i walked into a Mexican market in L.A. and as i walked in overheard what the cashier charged a Mexican woman for a couple of items, so i grab the same exact items and bring them up to the counter just to be charged 3 times as much.  Go to any swap meet in So. Cal as a white man and see how you are treated amongst the Mexican vendors. And the further south you go the worst it is.  Maybe white people are not supposed to speak up? Or maybe the time a black guy said to the white boy door to door sales man that he was in the wrong neighborhood in Pasadena, Ca.Where do we put the attention? Or is it all about ratings again?

Muslims find Christian countries better and go there and settle. Muslims don't have enough brain and honesty to think why they are bad and their communities third rate. Once they reach a Western country they start to argue that Islam , which made them a deprived community in the first place, is better.
