If so, where did he get that training and experience? Did he have the qualifications for a Class 1 Operator's License? Did he have prior experience? If so, where, when, and how much? \nGlobal News doesn't focus on what caused the deaths of the Humboldt Broncos - why? Accounts at the time suggested that Sidhu was not qualified, but that by some process he got the job anyway. Will Global be following up on that? Up to now, Global has not asked those questions. Sidhu was convicted for actions resulting in the Humboldt Broncos tragedy. He is not a Canadian citizen and the rules are clear: his criminal conviction means he's being deported. Unlike Global News, the victims I see in this story are the families of the Humboldt Broncos team, and the team members themselves. Global News want to change criminal to innocent victim. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was given a fair trial, convicted and sentenced. Now he is being deported. If Global wish to play the 'reverse the story' game, perhaps they should refuse Canadian citizens' tax dollars as 'revenue'.

This is one individual that was working in a job he knew little about and was very inexperienced. If people knew more about the trucking industry and the way they operate they would be afraid to go out on the roads. Many companies run ads nonstop looking for drivers because they pay too little, the equipment is not safe and the law allows for ridiculous hours. Federal hours of service are 16 hours a day with 13 hours driving 1 hour work time not driving and two hours of breaks. After 70 hours the driver gets 36 hours off and it starts all over. This works out to work up to 70 hours in 5 days and then a day and a half off. What other profession works those kind of hours? How about making our civil service workers work that kind of schedule and see how fast they go out on strike. These hours are allowed under the law and are federally mandated hours of service. The 36 hours off is often spent on the road sleeping and living in the truck not at home.

Deporting this man is not going to address the problem. While not sounding politically correct, many many of these new Canadians who are driving trucks either don’t know the driving rules here, or don’t care. Just drive on highway 1 and watch. They need better training or we need more police on the roads to stop the poor drivers. I can’t count how many times I’ve been following a truck with two 53’ trailers and it’s all over the road and if you’re brave enough to pass you can see the drivers on the phone more than looking ahead.

At the current immigration rates in about 20 years Canada will be fully colonized by India. Bring in 1 million+ people a year and in 20 years half our population will be from one country. This is not bigotry or hate speech, Trudeau/Singh regime, but just pure math. We are being colonized.

Being an Indian immigrant myself (now a citizen), this is absurd. There's rules to follow. There's 3 problems as I see:\n1) The structure of the Canadian economy - heavily dependent on services, natural resources and real estate. Due to this Education has become a business. Colleges, Universities & Diploma Mills are more than happy to admit international students who pay 3 times the normal fees. \n2) Lack of a screening process - not taking in immigrants based on skill and education.\n3) Taking in too many immigrants from 1 ethnicity & region - the Indian state of Punjab, a region suffering from drug epidemic, alcoholism and crime. Not sure why you'd want low quality immigrants. If you notice all the protestors here are Punjabis. Canadian immigration is business in Punjab. Many immigration consultants here in Canada are Punjabis and have business links back home.

I'm an international student form Nicaragua, and I'm doing my best to contribute to this country since day 1. And I'm looking to stay in this country not to take advantage of anything, but to contribute and give way more than I have received here. It's just not fair that we are being affected by Indians, the government should apply measures according to each situation from each country of origin. Canadian companies are the problem as well. They pretend they can't find Canadians to work (been experiencing this since 1976) and then hire temporary foreign workers, and the illegal immigrants. The Canadian business owners then get Canadian government grants and subsidies from 50% to 70% to cover the temporary workers wages and more than likely when they hire illegal immigrants as well, along with kick backs for providing housing. Canadian companies also pay those workers under the table, especially in the hospitality industry, and lay off Canadians and keep the temporary foreign workers and pay them under the table. Now if the Canadian government would offer grants and subsidies when Canadian companies hire Canadians, more Canadians would have full time jobs with livable wages. The Canadian government has to stop allowing foreign entities from buying Canadian businesses as they only have to hire 1 Canadian. After that the foreign entities who bought Canadian businesses are allowed to bring in as many of their workers as they want. That has to be stopped as well.

Why admit students to diploma courses? Why charge $50,000 to them for shitty courses? Why make education a business? Why make PR a business? \n\nCanadians are not at fault, nor are students, its the government who brought in 1 MM students in a year without any infrastructure or long term plan.

I came to Canada in 2019 to study Master's at a highly-ranked Canadian University. I thought I'll have good education, and if I get a good job in my industry in Canada, I'll be easily able to apply for PR. Well, I completed my degree, I got a job, gained experience, but now the Express Entry system is so messed up that I cannot score that high!\n\nYes, I blame those shady colleges who offered admission to fake students, I blame those students who did not come to study but to apply for asylum. Because of them, everything is messed up. I agree that not all international students are entitled to get PR. But, those who are skilled should get a fair chance, like before. Not everyone comes here to make coffee at Tims.\n\nI saw my friend who could barely talk in English getting PR before me through the TR to PR pathway in 2021. I have lived in Toronto for over 20 years. I love this city, but I can no longer afford to live here even with a great job and decent salary. When I received a rent increase of 10% for my 1 bedroom apartment on January 1 followed by a 3% annual salary increase shortly after that, the writing was on the wall. That gap is never going to close and things are going downhill fast from here now that I'm at a point where rent eats up more than half of my monthly earnings. The 30% rule is and has been a joke for a very long time. On top of that being mandated back to the office and forced to take the TTC which is a non-stop gong show sealed the deal. I'm leaving. I have decided to move back to Winnipeg to be closer to family, where housing is still affordable and I'll still make a better than living wage. Never thought I would find myself returning to live there, but now I'm actually looking forward to it because the downsides I used to focus on no longer exist when the high possibility of ending up homeless is removed from the equation.

I'll tell you the Indian's secret to how they mass migrated so easy. ( I don't mean this in any sort of negative way. ) This was told to me by a friend I work with who's entire family came to Canada from India. So what his family did and many, many others did was... In India they all pool all there $ to 1 family member, that family member gets his full citizenship to Canada then moves here. Soon as possible he will buy a business, then they start brining family members over 1 by 1 through work visas and they all work on getting there citizenships, they all work together and purchase a house. Once they get that house, one family member stays there and the rest buy another and they all work to pay it off, then just keep repeating until all the family members have there own house. meanwhile they are all still working together at there business and start bringing close friends from India via work visas then it all just repeats over and over.
