Canada is one of the weak points of America that aren't being talk about by American politicians. Canada brought in roughly 1 million registrered immigrants in 2 years thats 4% of the total population of Canada.

I experienced seeing some migrants going from that Plattsburgh gas station on that bus line this year. I didn't think about it cause there's such a large int'l population in Montreal. But looking back, it was a little weird seeing foreigners waiting for a bus in a smaller city across the border. ? And Canada's visa/permit offices are a joke. Visitors and migrants get their asap but people waiting for a work permit have to wait at least 6 months or a year, even for US citizens

In the 1990s, when we traveled up to Blaine, WA we would take the children to Peace Arch Park and let them play. My son, (around 5 or 6 yo) would do a Bart Simpson where the border was and hop on one foot then switch to the other foot back and forth saying U.S.......Canada.....U.S. .......Canada. While they were playing I would on occasion see a male with a back pack crossing from one country to another. Can only imagine it now. Those poor people who live in Blaine.

Perhaps its time for us to speak up and get the media to listen to employees instead of the ultra-wealthy so we can become efficient and well rested like many European labor forces, and not become the next Japan which seems to ignore employee needs.\n\nLet's give workers 5 or so weeks of actual time off as in Europe to prevent chronic burnout so we can keep up their productivity. Lets stimulate domestic tourism through this actual time off and revitalize rural Canada, creating business opportunities and jobs. Strangely I know Germans who emigrated to Canada recently and who love to live there now. So for outsiders the situations looks way brighter than from the inside. It is the same in Germany though.
