As someone from Asia who lives with a comfortable life I guess I’m privileged enough than most people who live on the other part of the world. But still, I can never understand why people force themselves illegally. They can just go through legal process, I’m sure there are other ways. This will never happen here in our part of the world. It’s easier to spot who is not one of us. If you want to move to a new country, do it LEGALLY.

I feel sorry for a lot of these people. This is going to keep happening, especially with climate change and unstable nations. Canada do treat these migrants slightly better than the United States but this is a hard thing to fix right now, with all of the things going on in the world. I am a hard-core a Democrat and I don’t have any solution to this issue, but there needs to be one.

This is happening to every western country. Someone is moving these poor people. God knows they have legitimate complaints about their home countries so, how can you not be sympathetic? On the other hand, this isn't a tenable way to manage the problem. When I hear stories of how Russia is using people to pressure the Polish border via Belarus, I can't help but wonder, are there other forces at work in some cases? \n\nThis is an issue that deserves the calm attention of all affected nations. Shame on the countries who help these people pack, literally or figuratively.

So about 5000 people are crossing a month, now find housing for all these people, no wonder rent is insane for everybody, there is no way lower income people can keep pace with this influx creating a massive shortage of basic places to live at reasonable prices. Sharing is great, but once you can't handle your own homeless people, then something else needs to happen.

We have SO MANY immigrants that come here to Canada legally and we are happy to have them....but this is disgusting. I'm disgusted that the US allows this to happen, and I'm disgusted that the home countries of these migrants refuse to take care of their own people and prefer to force them to flee and cause even more border issues and social controversy and frustration.

I live in El paso... This happens every day. Many get through. Car accidents and high-speed chases through the city... people running across the border highway (loop 375) and I-10. Strangers walking through your property in the middle of the night. Migrant tent cities popping up everywhere. Homeless migrants everywhere downtown.

Migrant are just victim in the whole thing, but what should really happen is anyone coming in with illegal migrant should have their vehicle seize and be the one under arrest.. So many people are exploiting the migrant driving them there and charging them absurd amount for it, they are the real criminal and the US should do something about it...

Not everyone can just be considered an asylum seeekr bec of too much crimes in their countries. Grow up! Crimes happen evrywhere ieven in the USa. My heart breaks when the social worker would pressure me to discharge frail, sickly aging pts within nte 48 hour time frame bec medicare wont cover them and they are not eligible forrehab facilities as their status are observationinstead if inpatients while the non-citizens can just drop their chronically ill family members bec they cant take care if them as they are all working. They wont even claim them bec they are “busy”.\nThey can just do whatever they want as they dont have to worry about paying for hospital bills or have credit companies go after them. We are also taking care of their US born children but they are not paying taxes. Our co’untry is in the brink if bankruptcy bec of misplaced sympathy. If we really want to help these people, give them work visa so they can be legal and taxable, or better help their countries to help with drug wars, etc. We cannot sustain these kind of unconditional financial bleed for so long. Before we know it, the whole population outside the Us, have transplanted themselves here for free and without fiscal responsibilities.

Looks like Canada still needs to learn some lessons in this regard. Ask Italy, were complete swarms arrive at the coast dead or alive from the African continent. Helping people is ok, but it needs to happen in a structured way, so that you don’t destroy your own society. I’m from Belgium and just like any nation in Europe. I am an American. I am looking to relocate to Canada because of the bad experiences I have had as a California Licensed Structural Engineer with 25+ years of experience. This US license is really difficult to obtain because the exam has a 25% pass rate. In California, it is much tougher because of the earthquakes the state experiences.\n\nInstead of being treated with respect for having this Structural Engineer License, I have been treated badly by structural engineering firms in the US. In the US, you can be fired for no reason at all. They use Performance Improvement Plans to lay me off because I am much smarter than the people I work with. Licensed Structural Engineers do not have job security - so expect to work only a few months.\n\nIn the US, you will have a job for 4 months because your boss has decided to hire someone cheaper and give himself a raise. This happened to me at the City and County of Denver.\n\nLicensed Structural Engineers do not have job security at all because employers do not care about their employees. With workplaces like that, the US is not the place to be. American is not the greatest nation when you have morons like Harry Dunn and Lloyd Christmas from the movie Dumb and Dumber running things! Quebec banning the hijab was literally ending racism. Catholic habits had been banned for decades. They finally said that if one religion isn't allowed, neither will the other one be allowed. I’ve watched the video and I’ve read many comments. My message it’s to immigrants, Canadians & everyone. Just be some patient to read for you to think reasonable after this. I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! And he was excluded from the birthday parties of his colleagues aswell other events! Other Ukrainian children, they were just attending classes! Just a show! No body cares how help their integration! About, the taxes! The half of my income was going to the government! The money back?! Only 200 euros/ month for my kid. And nothing else. Nothing! To get a neurologist appointment for my son it was necessary to wait 3 months! Prices?! Everything expensive! Technology?! Not better than Canada at all. Bureaucracy, Canada is much less. Banking system, Canada much better. Where in Germany?! The best province in Germany “Munich”. Where people stoped long ago dreaming to purchase a home. Guys, Canada doesn’t through broken people as we were in camps! Where nothing is human there! Canada doesn’t enter you in cercle of hell bureaucracy just to get your kid into school! And if he needs a support he get it right away without any background that he’s not our!!! I got a good job in Canada; so fast. Without any social connections because simply I do not have any. Ok racism definitely exists, and the doctors are hard to get, mostly we welcome immigrants, homelessness and drug use enabling is real, but most of the other problems aren’t that big compared to other places honestly. I always feel privileged to live here because I’d trade other things other countries have for free health care s thousand times over. I do feel bad for people that struggle and have to use their life savings for one surgery for example or spend $2000.00 to have a baby in the hospital. Educated and professional Canadians are desperately trying to move to the US, including my wife, myself, my direct manager and two of my coworkers, but even with TN visa it is tough. Taxes are really high here, rent is expensive, good luck finding a daycare, we are working poor people here, job market is small and very competitive since Canada brings many highly educated professionals from everywhere (India, Pakistan, China, etc) it is hard to build a descent career, and most of all Canada has long and dark winters. I pray every day to have a possibility to move to the US, save some money, maybe buy a house with a 3-4 bedroom (which will never ever happens in the city where I live in Canada).

I lived in Edmonton for three years and your mass transit is quite good. But the further you get away from city centers it thins out. Here in the ?US we need to work our mass transit. I feel like Canada is a lite version of the U.S. \n\nI'm a lifelong U.S. citizen and been to Canada many times. Mostly in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec. \n\nI totally agree Canada is and feels way safer. I've been to some areas of Toronto that are HOOD and I was taken aback. The 6ix is getting a little crazy, I don't know what's happening with the Lake Ontario air over there. Overall though, Toronto is so much safer, cleaner and much more pleasant to be in than in NYC or Chicago (from my experience and I choose those cities because they are usually compared to each other). Montreal has some sketchy areas but some of the sketchy areas of Montreal are comparable to a nice suburban area of the Bronx or Queens. The Zoe's in Montreal can be annoying but overall I never felt I had to be on alert. Again, Canada definitely is a lot safer (to me) and also way cleaner. \n\nAs for the cities, I think overall the urban areas of Canada are a little better with city planning but its not that much different. Other than Some areas of Canada you also need a car or if not, you're assed out. The provinces in Canada are HUGE and you can be driving all day in just one province. And like the U.S. the rail system across the nation isn't too great. Actually, I think the U.S. has a better bus (Greyhound/GhettoHound, Peter Pan, Mega Bus etc) and rail system (Amtrak) then Canada does. Not saying a whole lot but its still better I feel. \n\nWeather. If you're looking for warm weather year round, you will NOT find that in Canada. \n\nI think the U.S. provides more opportunity at the moment and overall, I think there's more to do and see and I believe it or not I think people in the U.S. generally are a little bit friendlier and more full of life. Of course, everything depends on what you're looking for but both are great countries but I find myself wanting to move up north to Canada nowadays but the gun laws are a deterrent for me.

To confirm as an American. Yes, it seems like everyone wants to put hot sauce and cheese on everything and it's annoying. The tap water here is bad unless you get it from the fridge or have a filter. Here in Arkansas, I think our spring water is great.\n\nRegarding the city and getting around to restaurants and other areas, pretty much. A good portion of our factories are on acres of land. However, some are still close enough that you can walk to. I'm certain this is hardly different from Canada but we are 97% rural. People think of America as big cities but usually its the local town and a pumpkin patch. When Aba said America is like 40 different countries, he ain't wrong. \n\nFirearms is ingrained in our culture. That's a given. I see a lot of people mention safety and this is what I can say; I felt my safety was compromised by a tornado warning. Trouble can happen but if you don't deal drugs or do some under the table stuff, usually you won't be a victim of a crime. \nI'm planning on owning some land myself so I can shoot on it, farm, and raise a family. Just be independent.

Your last point - it happens in Canada as well. Look at the Vancouver suburbs of Richmond or Surrey. I've heard mainly people from Toronto be surprised at how multicultural yet segregated Vancouver can be.
