As a Canadian, I am proud of our leadership on the tariffs. We are polite people, but we refuse to be bullied. How can Trump treat our country this way when he cozied up to dictators? Well, my siblings who are Americans won't see me for awhile. I have to stand with my country. Proud to be Canadian. We as a country are united against tyrannical behavior.

Okay so maybe I'm just stupid but can somebody please explain to me how placing tariffs on our neighbors is going to stop the flow of fentanyl?

Him slapping excessive tariffs on many countries will only hurt Americans. He never thought that these countries will do the same to America.

Canada had no problem with charging high tariffs in America. But now the tables are turned and they are whining. What comes around goes around Canada.

When countries put tariffs on the US the citizens pay more for goods. Now Canada will tariff their own imported goods like beef, vegetables, cars, cosmetics etc and who’s gonna pay the price, Canadian tax payer. See the difference?

Canadians and other nations subject to tariffs, please understand that the *only* reason Trump used fentanyl as a pretext for tariffs is to bypass Congress, because the president can only put tariffs without Congress in matters of national security. Fentanyl is simply a pretext enabling Trump to do whatever he wants.

As an American, I don’t watch CNN clips and believe what politicians say on either side to get my news. However, it’s absolutely true that EU, and China places tariffs on the US. It is also true that United States provide most of the security for all the free nations. At what point do we say enough? I do not know if Mexico or Canada has tariffs on US goods before this. But if they did, they have become quite entitled, haven’t they.

The U.S. has a massive economic advantage over Canada in any trade war—no debate. The U.S. economy is 10x bigger, and Canada relies on American trade way more than the other way around. The idea that they have 'leverage' is just political posturing. They can slap tariffs on select U.S. industries to try and cause some pain, but in the long run, they *will* lose. Their leaders just don’t want to look weak, so they act like they’re standing firm when in reality, they’ve already been pushed off the cliff. The U.S. can outlast them easily.

I really dont think fentanyl has anything to do with these tariffs. He wants to dissolve our governmant and try to turn it into a dictatorship He wants to cut us all off from the rest of the free world and buddy around with Putin who he idolizes.

Trump tariffs pressure companies to build manufacturing in America to avoid tariffs and sell goods in America. It brings jobs vack to America. I cant find any other way to bring manufacturing back to America. People need jobs in America but corporate america only cared about their profits.

I will be buying Canadian and Mexican whenever possible, and have changed my European vacation plans to spend my vacation dollars in Canada this spring and in Mexico this fall.\n\nI am impressed with the alternative trade agreements Canada is developing. At what point does the International Olympic Committee and other international sports bodies step in and ban the USA from the upcoming Olympics? \nTrump has made his position clear that he feels Russia is not at fault for anything that has happened in Ukraine. The debacle that went on in the Oval office on February 28th was not only disgusting, but it proved to me that the president is not willing to be a peaceful friend to anyone on a personal or global level.
