Many of this applies to US.. they remove heavy tax from my salary.. healthcare isn’t free, you will have to wait as well at the emergency; I can’t count how many times I waited frustrated. \n\n\nTo be honest I think it’s worse is usa, it’s just that there are jobs.

Be careful. In this video you both sound like spoiled brats. Many people in your home country would do almost anything to trade places with either of you. It sounds like you would both be happier if you went back home. When you get there please contribute some of what you learned in Canada to the people around you. But before you leave please be sure to thank the Canadian government officials and the other Canadians who helped to make it possible for you to reside in Canada legally. You should both remember that there are millions of illegal immigrants in the US and Europe who would gladly trade places with either of you. By the way, I am not Canadian. But I imagine that many of the Canadians who watch this video will feel you are both rather ungrateful for the opportunities that Canada has given you.

Welcome to Canada first if all. Why do people choose to leave their own homeland, then complain once they move to their chosen location? Canada has wonderful opportunities for anyone coming here, but if you think it’s a bed of roses, your dead wrong. Do your homework , research, decide what’s best for you. Live here for a few years , decide then. If it’s got you, move on, move out, your choice. But like any country there are good as well as bad. You can live a good life in Canada. So sorry we have cold winters that make us have the need to import many items and drive up the need to live here. So sorry you came and don’t enjoy the lifestyle here. Taxes are meant to run the country's affaires but people are just mean. You love it when you are broke and are able to benefit free services from the government but when you start making some money and are asked to contribute so that the country can keep up with all it's programs you start complaining. Come back to Africa, there is always a trade-off. No good service and less taxes. Just keep in mind that Africa not developing is our choice otherwise the cost of development is that, in a way ( higher taxes and government's direct control over people's affaires). I thank God anyway that you people can complain of better living condition but I would rather get busy working hard in Canada than not finding a decent job in Africa or bare the cold whether than sleeping hungry in Africa. While not staying that you would be in the worst conditions in Africa, I want you appreciate what you have and remember one truth, so many people in Africa would wish to be in your position. Anyway, you are welcome home. There's still a place for you all. Come help us change our continent for the better.

One of the problem is that the doctors and other medical professionals use the low costs educational systems in Canada to get an education and then promptly leave for the US. Taxes are high in Canada. But try paying 20,000 to 25,000 to buy health insurance for a family of three. And you go to hospital for a week and end up with $125,000. Bill. When you consider the cost of education and medical. In the US where you paying high health insurance, you wait 8 hours in ER. I think most immigrants are too disgruntled. Many of them.move to Us and regret it. Sometimes, we want to come into Canada and look to get rather than contribute. Where in the US are seniors getting old age pension. Where in us is there a year maternity leave. This video is not based on facts. In Canada taxes are high because you have low education and health costs. Me right now. My husband and I are moving back to Nigeria and not regretting it one bit , we have a better life over there and we’re going with our jobs so it’s very worth it for us. Thank God for the internet, it allows us to hear the thoughts and feelings of others, especially the young people. Everything you've said is true but the other side of the story is why many people decide to live here. Maybe you should do a piece on why people want to live in Canada. I am here 40 yrs now and i still love this country. If you stay long enough you will get to love it too. differences spark excitement.

Many of the same reasons would also apply to the US. I think getting your citizenship/passport is important so you have the option to return if you decide to leave. I lived in Canada but currently reside in Florida. I don't miss the long winters but I like the summers there. I think the crime rate and health care costs are a big plus in Canada. We have Miami beach but frequent shootings there have kept me away. So it boils down to an individuals choice.??

Immigrating to Canada to seek greener pasture is abracadabra. The fact is when you made an important decision that fails, you escalate your commitment to that decision. That’s why many can’t go back home, while others seek migration elsewhere. By and large, Canada is a lovely country where you don’t have people killing each other by the minutes. Like you said, it’s a tradeoff and it’s either you go to the US where you are 10 times likely to become homicide victim, but have much better occupational mobility and opportunities or you choose Canada where there’s peace and tranquillity, but low occupational mobility and limited opportunities.

My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.

Fun fact, Indians leave US and go back to India, there they face racism based on their caste, religion and region or state. Many north east indians are still mocked as being Chinese in India.

I’ll agree with the “Canadians are nicer” sentiment in every circumstance other than dealing with Americans. I’m American, married to a Canadian and many of them literally scoff when I tell them where I’m from. All I want to do is enjoy their beautiful country but they’d rather talk about politics In the US. It’s exhausting sometimes.

Never been to US but I'd say it is at least worth visiting it as a tourist (specifically Boston or NY) but living there? Hell no ?\nPs. Can you record or question anything in US embassy in any Indian city? Same instructions is every embassy. I have been to Indian embassy in NYC many time. People behave like crazy. I have seen people scream on officers for visa denial.

You don’t realize this stuff until you’ve lived elsewhere. After living in colombia and spending Eid in Morroco with a family… I may have more monetarily, but it will make up for the wealth that cannot be measured with a bank account that so many other countries and cultures have. \n\nAlso… the US wasn’t always like this. What you describe as family/neighborhood life in Africa I had as a child in salem oregon. Now 40, I asked my parents one day if all the parents with children had left the neighborhood. They said “no, all the kids stay inside anymore.“\n\nI asked them if this was because of the pandemic. They told me “it was just as bad before the pandemic. Parents just don’t let their children out of their houses anymore, or take them off to a million preplanned activities.”\n\nLastly, this is very much a white North American experience. I have noticed that if you don’t fitness demographic, these rules and norms don’t apply nearly as much. The sense of community within minority groups, even those that have been here for many generations, is significantly tighter than their white counterparts.

I have been reading the posts and almost all are saying life is lonely, here in US or Canada or Eu. So why do you want to come. You can happily stay in your country and enjoy your culture or whatever. It looks like the season that you're filming is winter and its going to be very cold in most places, so most of them stay back in their houses. Everything is available along with all kinds of foods in these countries. May be you dont know how to cook any kind of food and you might have been used to somebody cooking for you. If you feel stressed then meditate or do yoga or take a long walk on these beautiful and clean roads that are not found in many countries.. OR Stay back and dont come to USA/Canada/EU, unnecessarily leaving all that goodness in your countries.

I can agree with these comments if your not American, growing up we had all that interaction with family, friends and neighbors. Life n times have changed in America due to gun violence, especially in large cities. Socializing is different in every state in America and in every country. I can understand how if your not accustomed to our ways of life even today, that you would prefer your ways of living back in your hometown and your Country. If you live in a big City in America and moved there from a smaller town in America, you will be feeling some loneliness, that's normal to us in America. If your American then you adjust to making n meeting new people, that hasn't been so easy with the pandemic for anyone. To compare our homes in one community from another or even from another country, is just criticism. We don't have a specific way of living, as far as our homes are constructed. This is how as American's we have always lived, small homes, large homes, big cities, small towns. Since the pandemic we do find ourselves spending more time inside due to no fault of our own. We do have different ways of living but so do other countries which we do enjoy when we visit. If you want to learn more about America and our lifestyles and history, you should do that. Every Country has it's government rules n law's and we try to abide by them, that's what makes our Country n Our Nation Great, that's also why many people come here to visit or work and study. Loneliness can be anywhere, depending on the person you are and reaching out to make new friends or just acquaintances is important. Especially, if your away from friends n family from home or a different Country. ✌️

Brother, You are so right! But, I am a african American who grew up in the 70’s. It wasn’t like this until blacks integrated with whites. We had fun in our neighborhoods just like you described. Any neighbor could correct us. We could just go to the neighbors house to play. I grew up in Chicago and we had block parties with dancing, games, food sand talent shows. We played games in the street after school. When we left our black communities we had to behave like whites who don’t want to socialize with us. That’s what you see where you live. So they suffer and stay inside their houses. I left Chicago for university and moved to Newark, New Jersey and it was life there too! So many cultures, people walking, languages, music, vendors on the street. Puerto Rican’s, Haitians, Dominicans, and Africans. You should be some place like that. But many places in America “now” are boring like where you showed. Move!!!

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.

Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I was earning good in saudia as well but here...its the people..that make you feel better.\nWe booked a hotel here for quarantine and the Pakistani agent who paid for us by a credit card used a fake card number or what. We received a letter from the govt about 2285 pounds due to be paid. Of course thats alot of money for new comers...and as you said there was no payment plan or anything discussed in the letter.I called them back and the first thing they asked me was Are you alright right now? Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! Or the bribes we have to pay in Pakistan to get a basic job !\nThe difference in HUMANITY is big sir...among our countries and these. This is just un doable now. Because the people of Pakistan...alot of them..many in my own family...are still fighting over people like Imran Khan. Eh we were all in the same boat as these people or our ancesters were. some of us were taken by the British and forced to come here. So stop whining and be polite to our guests. the government should be building towns on our North shore so we can start selling our resources and Canada could b e a very wealthy country. Wow, very interesting discussion. Many Canadians know about America but, many Americans do not know about Canada. Especially Africans Americans who do not know that Canada has African-Canadians too and other people of color also. Similarly, Canada and America are very related in just about everything. I know me being a American, if I was not a American. I would want to be a Canadian. Having been station at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota and Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. I am familiar with the weather in Canada. The mistake I made was not to travel to Winnipeg, having spent over 6 years in North Dakota, I regret that so much especially during the summer time. Wishing our Canadian brothers and sister great blessings. As well as all Canadians too. I know there are still discrimination in both societies of America and Canada but, it dwindles everyday. From US Air Force Security Police Military Veteran and US American Department of Defense (DOD) Civilian Police, now retired. GOD sped to Canada and GOD bless America.

My experience about Canada after living here for a few years now: \n1): Healthcare: There are two sides of it. If you need a specialist, forget about it, just live with your disease or problems and hope it will cure itself and won’t get worse. If you are in a life threatening condition and need a surgery, you’ll get it and the medical bill won’t scare you. I needed a dermatologist, never got one, eventually had to fly to the US for a simple treatment. \n2): Taxes: You’ll pay extra to take care of the large aging population of Canada and to maintain the infrastructure in the extreme cold weather. But, you can make a good use of your RRSP and TFSA accounts, and you can also buy American stocks without paying taxes. \n3): Travel and transportation: Forget about public transportation methods like buses and trains. You’re on your own. But a vehicle ownership isn’t very hard here. \n4): Social networking: Good luck with that. Good luck finding friends here or being a part of a friends group. Canadians are polite but not outgoing and extrovert. Most people make a few friends in Schools and College. You’re not going to see people of different races and origin hanging out with each other. \n5): Real estate: Population is growing, population is aging, it’s all happening but what’s not many houses are getting built. Buying your own house isn’t easy. If you’ve bought one, good luck with the energy prices. \n5): Landscape: It’s gorgeous out here, if you want to be happy in Canada, go out for sightseeing.\n6): Jobs: Totally depends in which jobs you can fit in and what previous experience you have. If you have previously done exactly what the job profile is asking for, for sure you can find a job.\n\nIn the end I would say, I have lived in many places, each come with their downsides, you have to see what works for you. well most immigrant just come here to make quick money and go back to their country i know so many in here and its ok i would do the same if i was them like they love their country and they arent made for cold country from what they keep telling me all the times and they just want more money not live in poverty all the times and live a safe life so yeah its a great option i believe and we need them to work for us so even if they quit after a time they does our hard job witch no one here wanna do so its perfect for both of us even if its sad cuz most of these poeple i meet were really good poeple lively will be sad when they leave but its the place they deserve to be :) so i can accept it all their family is there

So people want to get educated but work abroad, many college graduates are doing like in Canada working as taxi, or other jobs because companies pay visa h1 workers less because they have to pay own taxes etc not good for US residents citizens

Born and raised in BC. BC means bring cash. Everything cost more in BC. GOVERNMENTS are more greedy in BC as well. More tax here more expensive to buy houses in BC as well. . fuel costs the most in world in BC I'm sure. Many of us leave to eastern province because BC is too expensive. Canada lets in too many Immigrants. Soon everywhere will look like vancouver. Asian or east Indian and very few other races

Pretty good Adam I'd just mention a few of those things are...I don't want to say inaccurate but way more diverse. For instance French. Yes Quebec is the only French province BUT New Brunswick is the only Bilingual province and basically half and half. This is good for things like federal of provincial services because by law they must provide service in both languages but not so basically everywhere else. The problem with this is you can have an almost completely English town almost nobody speaks French and drive 15 minutes and be in a town where nobody speaks English. Research on this might be hard because a town with a French name may not have any French people in and vise versa. Also this problem is multiplied in the fact that if you Do want a French area we don't speak standard French or Quebecois but instead Le Chiac which is a difficult and confusing mix of old French and english (almost exactly like the Cajun dialect). Second part of this is that Montreal is easy to live in if you don't speak French and is so multicultural you are just apt to hear Swahili as French in public. Last part is be very careful where you move on the prairies as they have may isolated towns some that speak French also. Next is tipping I've never had to tip anyone for a haircut outside of the military and all other forms of tipping here on the east coast are purely optional and wait staff don't get upset if you don't leave a tip unless you were a jerk or left them extra work like making a big mess (I worked as cook for a while after I got out of the army and I rarely ever head staff complain) HOWEVER....tip a waitress well and she might accidentally give you 2 pieces of pie lol and tip a taxi driver well and he will not only get you the cheapest fare he will find ANYTHING you may need no questions asked. Lastly on the nice thing....we are nice for sure especially compared to our southern neighbours BUT there is a lot of passive aggressive nice that happens and this also varies greatly. For instance as a city boy of course you answered the way you did but a guy who have lived all over this country in big and small, French and English places who now has retired to a rural town I can say I find the cities quite snobby and the French and the English can be quite snobby to each other and where I live now if you asked a random stranger for 5$ chances are you would get it also driving down the road people you don't know will just wave at you as if you were the closest friends. Canada is certainly a weird place so many extremes and my advice to anyone wanting to move here is do your research and then visit and travel a bit if possible because even us Canadians can be surprised by thing or two across this gigantic country
