The problem of feeling locals as immigrants in their own country is due to addiction of drugs. So question that first. Secondly, immigrants are back bone for Canadian economy. So if we live in Canada that means we are paying taxes in our high paying jobs like physicians, IT software or establishing stores. So better not to cry on immigrants, and get a life!

It amazes me that his lawyer talks about what he and his family are going through. Im sorry but how about the families of those killed or injured in that accident, imagine the horror they have and continue to live through. This man including the owner of the company immigrated here . When you move to another country you must adapt to that country's laws. If i went to India damn certain if i broke their law i would be held to account. I feel no pitty here. Those poor young souls and adults who had their lives cut short because of those immigrant's failure of getting trained or following the rules of Canada. You come here you must adapt to Canada not the other way around.

I feel badly for this guy. He's being deported while his family is here in Canada. He's served time and I don't feel as though this was any kind of homicide. He was a novice rig driver. He made a mistake there was nothing intentional about it I don't think you should be deported. Have some compassion for the guy he didn't want to kill all those people. Could you imagine having that on your shoulders having killed all those people by an accident and then everybody wants to kick you out. Poor guy

The shame on the Canadian justice system for taking this long to make this move. Think how the families feel having this over their heads for this amount of time. I have no faith in the Canadian Government or Justice system, this is a broken country that puts offenders first with no regard for victims.

I don't get it. It was a unfortunate and tragic accident. He didn't cause the accident on purpose. He owned up to it. Pleaded guilty. I get a mistake was made. But i don't get is how him being deported prevents anything, and or remedies anything. The terrorst, omar khadar, who killed allied soldiers lives in Canada with a $10 million payout. Miscarriage of justice. He should have been permitted to stay and raise his family. It was an accident but people want revenge. I don't feel that way. Indian people except for Jagmeet are in my estimation good people who work hard to better themselves. They are nice people who love Canadians except for Jagmeet. I think he deserves a second chance. If he was deported because he was driving without a license or driving dangerously, I would agree to that, but if it was a mistake, I feel like this is a bit harsh. Yes I was born and raised in Canada and just moved to Alberta in a small brand new community and it's all Indian culture with all the houses worth anywhere from 1 to 4 million dollars and I'm the minority living and renting a basement Suite LOL. I was there, vancouver, around 2018 to before covid, I feel they might have gotton the welfare wrong. my salary after tax,heath insurance is 40% left to settle all my living expenses. and who benefits? eg. drug addicts wait for free drugs every morning, a women keep boring kids to get free welfare, this I heard- a refugee with 3 wives and 12 kids got at least a free house and van courtersy of the local govt, a newly minted immigrant citizen also gotten $1200 senior welfare. Just felt that normal working folks are getting a very short stick. Also not sure if the free university education is all that good, it uses a lot of tax money, but higher earnings go to labour jobs like a roofer could earn $150k vs a business admin graduate earing $60k avg .

Oh, hell no! I love visiting my American friends and family, but Canada is a much safer environment. It never feels safe when there are people who walk around with guns. Also, I have a health issue that would bankrupt us. California or Hawaiian Weather would be amazing, but I live in Victoria, we do okay weather wise.

Rising crime rate, stabbings, housing crisis, drug overdoses, confused government. From what you're saying I'll feel just like at home. Half of the places I lived in like Germany, Poland, Scotland and even Switzerland faces the same issues.

North American continent originally belonged to the native Americans. Land was forcefully taken from them, and since then people from other continents has been migrating here. Originally it was Europeans who migrated here in large numbers, now that was extended to rest of the world. When the Italian immigrants came to the United States, they were treated bad so was the Irish immigrants, now the Indians are the newer immigrants, some people are getting upset about that. People are moving into one city because they feel comfortable being around their own race.

And also in the end there isn't much consumer protection in the US. Many businesses have quite shady ways of getting your money out there. We feel a lot safer financially in Canada although there are breaches here too sometimes. I believe you need to make a good combined $300,000 depending where you live in order to make a good living in the US but the only reason why I would move really is for the climate although I would move to Mexico before moving to the US because generally speaking, Mexicans are friendlier. Very generally speaking.

Very disappointed in Pierre Pollieve over this one issue. They need to go back to India. We don't need competition for food, housing, and jobs. you know, I have worked with temps in BC for over four years. They come in/phone in and ask for temp work, but here is the thing,....they don't want to do construction work. they want a company to oblige their school schedules, warehouse, forklifting only at 25 to 30 an hour. Its a scam to get PR.....they are not citizens, they are visitors. Ever single one of these students I've met ALL of THEM feel they're entitled to the same right and privileges as Canadian born citizens. Its just twisted. \nOur government is being played HARD.

I was an international Student....15 years ago. I paid about 30k in tuition A YEAR.. I was NOT allowed to work off campus, i was allowed to work ON campus for a maximum of 10 hours A WEEK...in order for me to maintain my Visa status i had to maintain a GPA over 3.5 AND i had to be enrolled in an accredited institution. Our international student department had a quota of how many students they could recruit from every country... Rent was affordable, jobs were aplenty and when it came time for an Internship companies would come do hiring fairs and fight to get students to want to work for them. Now they get about 60k applicants a year that are willing to work for free and taking away from actual citizens.\nAfter 8 years of working and grinding and stressing i earned the right to get a Permanent residence...i had to commit 3 years out of 5 to stay here and work here and pay taxes for me to become a Canadian ...it was the proudest day of my life. I was filled with a sense of achievement that has been shat on by these students. \nIf you or anyone would actually like to talk about how it should be feel free to reach out.\nI will tell you this for free...if a Canadian Citizen did this in my country .. they'd be on the first flight home.

It feels like rush hour every hour now.

I am speaking as an Indian, who lived and worked in Thailand for 2 years, and now will be moving to Europe on a specialist skills visa. Indians as immigrants have been a productive addition to any country worldwide, compared to other nationalities. But the only exception case is in Canada. \n\nThe reality is, in Canada, the majority of immigrants are only from a specific part of India (Punjab), and most of these people are deluded, uneducated and unskilled. You are 100% right, they are not there to upskill or even contribute. I can bet these people have not even lived in big cities in India itself, they come from villages and small towns and have never seen how modern societies or even cities work.\n\nI feel sad for Canadians because most of this is their government's fault. It is the leading example of a failing society, which attracts the most obnoxious group of people from around the world. This is a complete political agenda.\n\nAll being said, even if they pay me I would never come to Canada.
