Why don’t they just do what the US does and make it near-impossible to get a Visa unless you’re skilled

I am an Indian and every day I see ads from Canadian universities promising me work visas and top quality education. I also get calls from agents time to time saying my alma matter is more than enough to land me a job there and they just need a certain amount of money to send me to canada with work permit without any college enrollment.

They will get stopped at the border and be asked for documents to enter- I’m not understanding the bus schemes you are talking about! Can you explain to us how are they crossing the border with the bus? Generally if you cross the territory of another country none can stop you from using the transportation available in that country the drivers are not in the wrong here and are not obligated to check the passengers for a visa. A lot of applicants are tricked into getting student visas by recruiters into going to Canada for the promises which turned out to be just promised when they get there. Canada has to be stringent on its immigration laws to prevent scumbags from getting rich out of people's despirate hopes and dreams.

Canada has a massive immigration problem right now. There is a student visa loop hole thats just been fixed where people would get a student visa at some 3rd party “institution” then bring their entire family along with them on open work permits.

I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Lot of people come to canada through student visa. They get billions of dollars in the form of college or university fees.

The immigrants who come here on student visa and do 3 jobs to survive are not a problem. Problem are those who pay big $ to come in. They are the ones who launder their money through Canadian real estate and make Canadian living costs rise. They use Canadian real estate market for speculation and live off flipping houses and condos. But people also forget the amount of money governments make just by issuing visas.

There is no back check no education verification, those who cant even pass grade 5 test are being granted student visas, every aspect of immigration is a scam.

first i am an immigrant for 20 years. i see the problem has been rising. \nthe problem is not just immigrant, its the overseas students also. Gov try to solve the issue but they are doing it blindly. the problem are those small schools that focus on making school as a business and let people get working visa. \nwe need doctors and nurses so badly. why cant we take more doctors and nursing, have universities specifically train then. we can also have golden visa and wealthy immigrants to come in . we dont just need cheap labour, we also need money. \n\ni cant wait for next election to vote this gov out!

The main issue isn't just the number of immigrants, but also the quality and the criteria for entry. When I immigrated 10 years ago, there was a rigorous process involving thorough document checks, including verification of university degrees and skills. Now, it seems that the requirements have become non existent simple visitor visa. People can apply for jobs here and if accepted, they can easily change their visa status to a worker. If not, in most cases, people simply go illegal and maybe pay for lawyer.

Most Indians who have been coming here are doing so by signing up for low-value courses offered by these diploma mills and they don't have the means to sustain their lifestyle here. What they do know is that they can earn an income through a side hustle by working as uber drivers or food delivery drivers during their free time. Most Indians who have been coming here since 2019 come here with the sole aim of getting a PR visa - education is just an excuse to get the visa.

Stop issuing international student visa & temporary work visas. Save the seats in Universities and colleges for our domestic students. Put a cap on the number of international students we allow into the country.

I remember the exact same thing happening when I applied for a travel visa to India in NYC , a young woman’s father had died 3 days before and they were given her a hassle about it till she was crying. Many years later I told this story to my then fiancée who was Indian and she said consulate/ embassy officials are nasty as hell to their own country people and nicer to non Indians

Canadian government is not going to listen and control until US start visa in Canadian then they will wake up. If I am there I will definitely start visa for Canadians even for their politicians.

I am an international student and if my visa expires then I should leave Canada, they should not blame other people that they are being lured to get PR, it is their responsibility to check if their immigration consultant is legit. Immigrants should respect Canadian Law.
