Yes, I think this anti-immigration rhetoric started after the early European immigrants handed out blankets infected with small pox to the indigenous. It's all gone downhill since then. \n\nAs an immigrant without stable housing after 19 years, I can testify that the Canadian dream is dead.

Immigration has become an epically pivotal subject globally and yet it’s presented as a source of political ideology oppose to basic human dignity that without the promise of greener pastures where someone can start over and experience what other people experience, their greeted by border barb wire and intolerance, deportation, not to mention the perils of traveling choppy waters on insufficient crafts. The humanity in me says be grateful as a citizen that has been privy to a place where I can be sanctimonious about the possibilities of issues that someone will hypothetically solve.

I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

People are fighting each other without realizing that the real problem has always been the growing capital accumulation since the 1960s, which has led first-world countries to face this issue nowadays. Most politicians don't want people to stand up against the wealthy, better to have an easy target than to face the actual problem.\n Eat the rich!

I am from Poland, a country which is attacked by weaponized migrants. We have never invaded anyone, or been bad to anyone. We've been the victim throughout the last 200 years. We've clawed our way to prosperity very slowly but diligently, and now we are expected to just allow everyone into our country, without them respecting our history, language and traditions. We are a monoethnic society, and thanks to that we are one of the safest countries in Europe. And it will stay that way. Not a single illegal migrant will cross our border, and Poland will never change into a migrant hellhole like the UK or France. We will defend our country, as we once did against the Nazis and Soviets, so will we defend ourselves against forced change of culture and banditry.

I've been trying to get gov assistance for months... the exact walmart order I used to get for the week now cost 300 more and they will not give me any assistance... while these ppl get the assistance housing without doing a damn thing

I live in Niagara Falls all my life. I can’t afford to keep my self and son fed without assistance or barley keep the lights . 10 mins away they are living in hotels, getting food, diapers. Hygiene all for free as well as a monthly pre paid card or cheque from 1800-2800 a month… I’ve lived here and payed taxes for over 30 years. Where is my help?

Without a LOT of immigration the truth is that western countries like Canada and most European countries would simply collapse in a few decades for the problem of demographic decrease... My european country of 10 million habitants is being literally 'invaded' by a huge influx of immigrants as we speak and to be honest there is no other way to make the country viable in the long term. We the western people stopped having kids decades ago and now there's no turning back...

Canada’s quality of immigrants has gone down drastically over the years. That is the truth. While the US has upheld their standard, Canada seems to have slacked in that. That is the problem. You need quality immigrants coming in who can integrate without having to assimilate. You can maintain your cultural identity but also integrate into Canadian society similar to how the US allows. I went Ottawa this year after 17 years and found that in Ottawa nobody respect traffic rules, also many people living in the streets and drug addicts in the street. They bring too many refugees and immigrants without having enough infrastructure.

I am an immigrant myself and could not agree more with it. The government is bringing in people blindly at the cost of jacking up prices to unbelievable levels for shelter, food and so on. Jobs are taken away from locals and has been handed over to new immigrants, our students are struggling to find jobs. Crime is on the rise . It almost seems like the they gave up the immigration vetting system and are bringing in people without due delegence. This is NOT the Canada I came to more than a decade ago. It has changed and continues to change for worse unfortunately. My vote is never going to a liberal ever again. They failed this country big time

It‘s not just Canada; the whole of Europe has been invaded with uncontrolled migration! This has caused so much instability in the economical & social aspect! It is easy to get in as a refugee into Canada or Europe without any documents but hard to get out without any documents!

The percentage I saw is small bcos I know that the Indians are more than that in Brampton. Is just that they don't use Brampton address because of auto insurance. Per capita GDP in Canada has been falling as immigration rises. Remove the real estate bubble from the calculation and the decline is even starker. Canada has absurdly low capital investment (outside of real estate) leading to declining productivity per worker. Without drastically curbing immigration to tighten up the labor market real wages will continue to fall.

These immigrants are driving our streets without a driver's license or insurance and are being let go by law enforcement. I just came back from Montreal through Vermont and can say, without hesitation that there is very little border security outside of the primary crossing points. They simply do not have enough officers to monitor the border in those largely rural areas.

As an immigrant, I believe that the rate of immigration should be slowed down. There are currently insufficient homes, jobs, and healthcare services. The situation has become particularly dire for new immigrants after the pandemic, forcing many to live paycheck to paycheck without time to assimilate. Additionally, the imbalance in the number of immigrants from different countries can hinder assimilation. While I fully support diversity, it is essential that we come together as Canadians to build a unified community rather than creating isolated enclaves. Many immigrants arrive seeking opportunities but are often unaware of the realities of living here. The government needs to take responsibility for allowing this situation to develop and should do more to promote and uphold Canadian values. Also, the system cannot function effectively without proper checks and balances, as many people take advantage of it.

Canadas natural immigration rate is about 350k/yr. At the same time we were facing a housing crisis caused mainly (at the time) by oppressive and inefficient regulatory systems. That was before Trudeau, without explanation, increased immigration to 1.5 Million per year. Canada used to immigrate primary families with a 50:50 male female ratio. Now we primarily import single military aged males resulting in the current near-70:30 male female ratio. This is a massive concern.

We can't blame immigrants. We have to blame the government who issues Visas. Without Visas they cant entire Canada. Its the incompetent government starting from Sean Fraser, Marc Miller and of course the wrecker in chief who opened the flood gates. Diversity is when you have a mix bag of people, not 8 out of 10 people from just one country.

Canada was not anti immigration when the people coming were needed, they wanted to contribute, and they understood and assimilated into Canadian culture. Now they come, contributing nothing, straining our health care system, causing a housing crisis, and most importantly, bringing their culture and beliefs, displacing ours. I support immigration but there are issues and we need to be able to discuss it without assumptions or name calling. \n\nYes, housing, rentals, and houselessness are all issues as are lack of doctors. That said, we never discuss the million little things. There's more litter. It takes longer to order fast food. Our winters are lonelier as people hibernate. 4am phone calls home disrupt sleep and cause stress and tension. General language barriers. Cultural barriers, I personally love referencing movies. The prejudice migrants bring. Is our National IQ increasing or decreasing. These are legit issues and questions, I could name 1000 more.

Obcourse, If you walk suspiciously around baby's stuff and without buying anything, anybody would approach you, thinking, you might need some help or got confused. Its a normal procedures in a store. Its like a Provocative act. We are human, not a god, also human differs one another, in terms of culture, temperament, upbringing, therefore a slight filthy language will occur.
