I lived in Canada and didn't find Canada all that great. I'd say America is a far better country than Canada. Growing up half of my relatives were Canadian, and we visited often. It always seemed that Canada was a cleaner, friendlier version of America. I still visit on occasion, but it's not the same country, either is the United States for that matter. There's no escape!

I’m a fifth generation Canadian and I’m checking out opportunities to leave Canada. Inflation, immigration, crime, and the worst government in my Lifetime. I had no idea the Liberals could wreck a great country so quickly. It’s always easier to destroy than creat so I don’t see it getting any better soon. Or ever.

At this point, it's not immigration anymore, it's invasion. So many don't assimilate, they just strictly stick to their communities and their ghettos, and don't mix with the rest or learn about Canadian values. It's not racist or xenophobic to want to preserve the country as it's always been. I have had many interesting experiences at the Indian Consulate. But fortunately no one screamed at me! When my late beloved Mother passed away, I took the the tried and tested method which always works in India, my good friend had a friend who knew the Vice Consul at the Embassy, I was discreetly taken into his office, where I showed them my last Indian Passport, and within 20 minutes my American Passport was stamped with an Indian Visa. In the meanwhile my contact was engaged in a friendly conversation with the Vice Council. \nThe problem with our Consulates abroad are, they are understaffed. And with the growing numbers of our diaspora in these countries, they are unable to handle the huge workload. And we are not the most polite people on the planet. Hence both sides tend to get into frequent clashes. On the other hand I have been into other nation Consulates, here they all have a system, and an online form filing program that is user friendly and easy to fill out. Everything works like clockwork. In some countries the Indian Consulates do offer emergency services even on weekends.

Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

I think everybody’s overreacting reason is that everything has been done for a reason, nothing is ever done from governments that doesn’t benefit in the long run. Things are always done to a certain level and then start to get under control. What everyone sees in this decade is not necessarily the same in the future happening to the favor of the country and stabilizing and making the country more and more balanced.
