Ive lived in brampton for 5 years. Yes we do have a good number of our people here. \nTalking about temples, thats what indian people do, we are religous. And i dont see anything wrong with having our temples built the traditional way. The city had no issue with it thats how they got permits to build. \nWhy so many of us live here …. Brampton is located very close to all major cities in gta. It has a good public\nTransport network…. A lot of colleges both convenient for the students. And more over the govt did not specify where new commers should go. \nI thought canada was always a land of immigrants from hundreds of years so dont know when they say too many of us here. We came like others…. Did the paperwork… got approved for visa. Students pay 3x the money for the same course a canadian would pay. Its contributing to the economy.

It's really getting ridiculous - I'm making 6 figures, and was living comfortably until 2018. Now I have to pinch every single penny. One thing that changed is I had my first-born. But it should not be this expensive to raise of family of 1 child. It's getting ridiculous. I got a chance to get shifted to North America 24 years ago. By then I had reached a CXO level job in India and that company gave me a choice. I decided it was good in India, and my salary went up as the years went by. In USD terms I might have got lesser than in NA, but in purchasing power, I got more, I think.\n\nThen India's growth after Y2k happened and I got other jobs, and participated in stock options with start-ups with dynamic founders (India has a decent VC-PE network now, especially for technology people). 5 years ago I decided no need to work and be on my own, doing stuff I always wanted do, but income was more priority. Today I realise most of new wealth is being created in India: new ideas, new services, products, delivery systems, etc: all being thought of in India. Why go abroad, except for a vacation?\n\nToday I have a fairly substantial net worth that got created through those wealth sharing jobs and I realize when I visit NA, that I would never have got this, not unless I had been there for a long time, and certainly not in Canada - that's pretty clear.\n\nToday, India is the place where wealth is being made. If you have a product or service that is successful, or are a part of such an enterprise and get to share in the value creation (that's a risk, not a given, not guaranteed), India is the place to be. I have an idea of what this man at the beginning is talking about, not the homeless aspect but being turned down for nonprofit programs, I am on a government disability pension in b.c I was making some strides to better my life such as schooling etc, then my last living family member my father passed away in 2014 and more and became extremely depressed and had thoughts of suiside, I told my doctor what's happening to me, and he made letter after letter to mental health on my behalf, for some assistance, and I got nothing, because I did not fit the mental health criteria of sleeping in a tent smoking crack, meth or shooting up etc, I'm guessing because I was still paying rent and eating that I was not unstable enough to get any assistance, or go back to school etc but at the same time, literally tens of millions are spent annually on the coast for those on drugs and in tents and all it seems to do is enable the problem, while those who want to work and get on with thier lives get nothing.....

The least you can do is not comment such provocatively online against other ethnicities or is this atrocity still there in your blood. It's very simple. I've honestly never really thought of it but as a Canadian that moved to the UK (Scotland specifically) it is crazy to have it broken down this way. My partner (Scottish) and I talked about the pros and cons in living in either country and we came to the conclusion is was better to live in the UK. TBF she is an engineer and in the future it may be better to live in Canada but right now between the salary and time off (20 day (CAD) vs her current 40 days off plus flexible working days (equals out to more like 44)) it's better to live in Scotland. I was also able to find a much better high paying job here in the UK (Edinburgh no less) than anywhere in Canada and have continued to work here in the UK cheaper.\n I hope to move back to Canada one day but don;' know if it will ever be possible.
