I'm Canadian who took the same decision a few years ago, I've wasted 13 years of my life in Canada, I lost my money, skills, motivations that I brought with me. I left my grown up children there because I can't sell my values to get some Canadian dollars. We went to Canada to help and to have freedom, not to be discriminated and get hired in low-level jobs. I'm happy that I left and I enjoy the sunny weather most of the year in my home country even if I have little money. It was a wrong decision to be in Canada especially after I've seen high-school graduates got hired in positions that I've Bachelor's degree can't get it. I've been graduated from a Canadian college but still can't get those jobs. It's not acceptable to be a second-degree citizen just to get a blue passport.

Universities need ask student visas from the government. A university should only get a visa based on the percentage of native students. So UofT that has a lot of Canadian students will get approved for more Student visas than a no name college with very little Canadian students.

You are absolutely right dear. I've lived in Canada since November 1968, moving from England where I consider trying to live there to be even worst than Canada. I am 82 years old now, having survived through a number of hard times here. However when I have finally paid off my mortgage, I'm going to have a little money to travel for three or four months every year, but I have to stay in Canada for at least 183 days each year to continue receiving my pension.

Fabulous video! US viewer here. But we often vacationed in Quebec’s Laurentians and our daughter went to Ontario’s University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree about 15 years ago. UofT was rigorous, to say the least, but she did it in 4 years, unlike some of her peers. She LOVED it, and made many friends, including internationals. They’ve stayed close on FB, and even get together (some flying in from other countries, including the Middle East and Asia) every 2 years or so back in Toronto. We’ve found the easiest way to make friends is by going to university or college together and living in residence, rather than once we’ve enter the workforce.\n\nThat said, and as unpolite as it may be, the root of Canada’s problems are exactly its politics. IMO Canada’s misguided liberal policies are to blame for its stratospheric taxes, cost of housing, increasing crime, tolerant drug culture, and deteriorating health care system. That Canada now encourages voluntary euthanasia to reduce health care costs should say it all. Margaret Sanger would be proud. And it promises to get worse as long as Justin Trudeau and his ilk are in power. His lionizing climate change intervention at the expense of what really impacts Canadians is sheer madness. Conservative Party Pierre Poilievre and like-minded politicians could fix it all.\n\nHappily, here in the US, the conservative movement is growing and energized. Canada is expensive because of the high levels of corruption everywhere: Government and Public Works are a joke. For instance, to change a street light post they use two trucks with telescopic baskets; almost in all public works, there is a huge number of heavy equipment most of the time unused, or just mimicking work, and add to that that institutions don't work as you would expect (Health, Police, Media)... For those who came from developing countries, most likely there is more efficiency and modernity in those countries. The other big negatives are the lack of a national culture, inexisting trasport from big cities to small ones, and also too little social life in big urban places. Normal people would survive all of that and stay, but the wokeism, push of the transgender agenda, cancel culture and the stupid racist anti-racism inclusive trends, are unbearable for the average, normal person witch children. But not all is bad, Canadian landscape is beautiful...

I lived in TO for 20 years. Didn’t like the climate much and was looking to move somewhere south but not to the States. Ended up in Merida, Yucatan, purchased lovely furnished colonial house with the pool, former AirBnB, 1km away from the main cathedral. No need for a car. Paid little 6 years ago for the $$ most people can’t afford to renovate their kitchens in TO. Monthly bills are $140 CAD including all the services, property tax, excellent internet, electricity and yes we use AC when sizzling hot outside. The best of all there are some direct flights to TO and we do visit in summers exclusively ?. Overall ….we are born again, the best decision ever. Still love TO but too pricey for us as we need more than $140 daily for survival!

I visited Toronto in 1986 and I've had friends from that city. The whole world is changing and facing the issues you mentioned in your video. I had lived in Seattle before its decline. I'm in Pittsburgh temporarily and I had lived recently in Erie, PA. They all seem to be facing the same situation--housing crisis, homelessness, and crime. And in Pittsburgh, limited social services.\n\nHowever, I'm sad to see a socialist country such as Canada suffer with these ills. If a socialist country can't take care of its people, there's little home for a capitalist country like the US.

I respect your decision to leave based on misalignment of values and other factors you cited. I wish newcomers would be aware of these things before they moved to Canada. Anytime Canada takes in a flood of immigrants and refugees whose value systems don't align it creates longer term issues for society and the country. Biden is doing the same thing by allowing a flood of refugees, little does he realize what the long term impacts will be.

Not all provinces are as expensive as BC. The old expresion of BC-bring cash . On the other side of the rockies there,s something called Chinook winds , which deposits warm air from ,yup from ,BC and it,s dry as well . Also you,d be giving up free heath care ,stable policing ,stable goverment ( no revolutions ), US included . Before you give up you,re Canadian citizenship ,you may want to test fit other places first,just saying . But lucky for you getting to make multible U-tube videos to finance for wherever you land up . And when you land in another country you can make more videos about how you,l , Return , back to one of the best places ,on the planet . Toronto is the most boring, non-descript, major city I have ever been in my life. Sure it has all the amenities of a major city, but they do it boring. Landscape, boring. Architecture, boring. Neighbourhoods, boring. People, boring and a little stuck up. Seriously, the city is a character vacuum with no real distinguishing features. Montreal is everything Toronto is not and at least Vancouver has the dreamy landscape. Indian restaurants are alright tho.

People saying that Toronto is bad, and it's gone downhill past 5 years but you could say that about any country and any city. Covid Struck, two wars happening and a little economic shipping route battle as well!!! It's bad everywhere and while you might be paying $2.5K CAD a month on rent it's no where near as extortionate as other larger global economic cities!!

Toronto is probably better off without this whiny little Princess. for all it's faults it is still one of the safest places to live in North America , and certainly the safest in Canada. She compares it to Tokyo which is even more overcrowded . If cost of living is the Criteria for where you live then certainly go live in Tokyo. Personally I'd much rather ride the TTC to work than Tokyo's commuter trains where they pack them in like sardines. Sayonara, sweetheart !

I have been in US for 20 years and can understand the experience that you are sharing. Frankly, countries like US and Canada are not for people who can’t do some basic things on their own. \nPeople leave their families and comfort of their home and come to these countries either to earn money, eventually have a good quality life or to provide a good quality education for their kids. If you don’t have a reason good enough to make that move and keep the option of running back home on facing little hardship then there is no way you can live in these countries. Forget about going and living in other countries you can’t even go and live in another state within India. Do you think it’s easy for a North Indian to go and live in South (or vice versa) where they encounter language and culture barriers? \nYou were in much much better situation as you already had PR and didn’t have to go through stress of handling uncertainty on your visa situation based on job.\nTrust me it takes few years for you to get adjusted to new environment, culture, people, food etc. But, as you spend more and more time in these countries you get more accustomed to way of living here and then you become so comfortable with it that you don’t want to go back at all.\nDon’t want to judge anyone but I guess in your case at your age with family already settled in India you didn’t have a solid enough reason to get out of your comfort zone and give time to get used to such big transition in your life

People immigrate to Canada because they failed to succeed in their own countries. Many of them have fake degrees. . I have met many of them at work who know little about what they claim their degree is in. A wealthy businessperson in South America or Asia has no interest in relocating to Canada. Why would someone leave a tropical paradise and come to Canada unless they're a nobody in their own country.

How is this true? I always thought of Canada as the little (but more prosperous, friendly, safe and polite) brother of the US. A place that might be nice to visit or even retire. I am only here as I am flying to Toronto from Dublin soon. First Sweden, now Canada. What is going on?

Born and raised in Toronto and i can tell you that life has become miserable here after covid. Your money isnworth nothing unless you make insanely amounts of money. You work your butt off to just pay bills and little money left to save for a dream that you can never afford. If it wasn't for all my family here I would definitely consider leaving it all behind here because this country as beautiful as it is has been depleted by our current government parasites.

I think some of these colleges were trying to recruit me when I was looking for masters program in USA. I was smart enough to not fall in the trap, I applied to NYU on my own and got in. The recruiter was trying to fool me to go to some weird college in california in USA. I think it is very easy to fall in the traps of the recruiters because most students and parent know very little about american/canadian school systems.

I want to leave australia for exact reasons. I have 2 little girls. One day walking at the beach we saw a man with big belly walking around in very revealing bikini. I take my kids far away so they dont see him. Sad thing is no one notice him. People in west have lost the plot. Lost their head in the clouds. If they think thats acceptable i dont have to accept it. If your kids are not at school yet dont over plan it. Let Allah guide you. We are currenly in bali. And will travel malaysia turkey and egypt. Singapore is a much more congested place. Real estate prices are on the higher end.\nCanada is a very cold place but in certain states, Canada gives free land to settle immigrants. Plus, as you stay in close proximity of the US with similar timezones. So you can find jobs in American companies. Singapore is from a different timezone and there is very little overlap between California PST and Singapore SGT. \nAs the global warming takes effect, Singapore will sink, while Canada becomes warmer, more natural resources are unlocked in Canada. Not to mention, Singapore is sorrounded by Islamic nations, and there is high probability of terrorism happening in near future as radicalization increases in that region. War is already happening in Burma between Junta and ARSA. And when civil war happens, so happens the in-flux of illegal arms and ammunition. Canada is far far away from these warzones.\nMost people should prefer Canada over Singapore, unless you have any specific ties to South East Asia, like you love the Asian food or you need to stay in close proximity of your family and friends.

I want to live in a little in a diverse community. My neighborhood in Scarborough is 90% Indian or Middle Eastern. When you have so many people of one ethnic group they do not assimilate but form a mini ghetto town They were telling us what to wear and what to learn. Secondly, Canada is full of vagrancy. Trudeau is the worst leader in the history of Canada's existence.

I m an Indian Christian, born and raised in Malaysia. My homeland. We are a nation of different cultures. Malay, Chinese and Indian. These are the 3 Major race but we are called Muslim country. We live in peace and harmony. Everyone has their rights to believe in their faith and live peacefully together here. Inflation is bad here too but still affordable. For expats, If you want to migrate to Malaysia, make sure you get high wages in USD and a company that will renew ur contract. You can't be citizen but you can apply for PR.. but the process is not that easy. Some of my friends who are expats still live here after 15 years without a PR. Our country is small so it's not easy to get it. Your children can get into International schools or home schools WITH UK IGCSE SYLABUS TOO... its just pricy a little. Other than that, Malaysia is a beautiful Tropical country with beautiful and friendly people to live with. Malaysia truly Asia. ❤

Before moving please make sure what you would be doing in a new country for living? Will you be able to manage until you pickup your earnings. You have kids!! will you be able to pay for their educations, house rents, medicine if necessary etc. so on and so forth..\n\nBut one thing i wanted to check many Indians are moving to Canada for a better life, i''m little surprised to see you moving out of Canada, why don't you guys try jobs in IT companies? They pay well and it should solve your major problems, the winter thing you can control by using heaters and Government thing i think it would change after sometime.. I'm so glad I moved to Vancouver. It's not great but a little better and it's warmer. Doesn't rain as much as said. I'll take a bit of rain instead of the freezing cold. Toronto is much more fun. Way better vibe. Van sucks. People are cold and creepy. Say hello and a person runs. Have no sense of humor. Really dull people.

I left in 2006 for better opportunities. The city was declining back then but slowly. Come back for a visit every few years and astonished how awful getting around the city is and just how little the city has to offer. It mirrors the decay of Canada as a whole.

I lived in Pakistan for 5 years for medical school. As much as I appreciated it, I knew I could not settle there. You will appreciate all the little things once you move. You can get ripped off by utilities company over there. Unless you know someone in power you don’t stand a chance. The inflation there is much higher than here. Some days you can’t find any meat or other foods. Almost everyone is trying to rip you off. Also safety is an issue. I was young and dumb. I was never targeted but it happens to locals all the time. As a westerner they can spot you a mile away even if you dress like them. You’re complaining about the cold, wait till you feel the heat. Electricity goes out all the time. You need to know people and have family in these countries. You can’t get things done independently like you can in the west. Also there are very few jobs that allow for the standard of living you are used to. If you are willing to sacrifice 90% of what you have now then you might have a chance. Lastly, you will most likely have to put your children in an American school when you get there because they don’t speak the language and they will act like westerners. And hide your wife from YouTube for God’s sake. If you had a billion dollars would you broadcast it to the world?

Salam...Torontonian here. Last few years i have been in the same boat but cant decide where to move. With 3 little girls and all the reasons you also mentioned i dont see a future living in this chaging environment. I did grow up in UAE so i have experience living in the gulf and have visited recently, its got expensive and cant stand the sutle discrimination that exists within the system. Next, moving to places like Malaysia, not sure about finding quality work with good income buts thats one of the top in the list, with turkey and souther USA (i know). \nGood luck on your journey and keep posting :)

When I moved from Canada, back in 2002, I couldn't believe how Canada was talked about. People spoke as if Canada was some dreamy, perfect world. It didn't resemble the truth in any way, even then. People of other nationalities believed such outlandish things about Canada. I realized, suddenly, that very little truth was reported about the country. For me, once I reached adulthood (1990s), I knew I wasn't living in the country I had thought Canada was. Even then, it just seemed that whichever province I moved to, people were just barely getting by, yet were strangely content or complacent in life. It was generational, social conditioning. Many can't see beyond it.

Consider moving to Kosovo-it is a majority Muslim population that is western oriented but also traditional in a cultural sense (not necessarily a religious sense). Although it is majority Muslim, there are secular Muslims as well as Catholics and Orthodox Christians who live in peace. You can hear the call to prayer five times a day and see observant Muslims without it being all consuming like somewhere in the Middle East. Since you are from Canada, you might find it a little suffocating to move to some place like Saudi Arabia, even if you are observant Muslims. Finally Kosovo has a very cheap cost of living, many people speak English, and you can be on the beaches of Greece within a few hours drive. Probably not on your radar so just a thought.
