To those who called Trump a racist for building a wall, he is not racist its for situations like this. Now America and Canada can't even afford to house and take care of their own citizens, so all these illegals coming in and flooding the housing markets, the social services benefits and criminals from illegal immigrants flooding our streets with cartel drugs, prostitution, extortion, over populated criminal justice system, and they aren't even legal or gone threw point of entry at the border. How is that racist? Its not racist its just trying to prevent all systems from being flooded with illegal immigrants. It doesn't matter what country they come from or the color of their skin. Its about protecting the American and Canadian way of life.

Oh my goodness...Canada seems to have run out of red carpets...Canada has problems. It has racism. It has sexism, yet with only high school four of my sisters became bank management and executives...and we have a blue-collar mixed-race heritage. But despite that Canada has a tiny tiny economy compared to its immediate neighbour and still delivers an impressively comparable lifestyle...plus a health care system that struggles to find a way to be universal in our post-pandemic world...that actually saved my American-immigrant husband's life. If you can understand the sheer competitiveness of trying to get a job in this marketplace then you might understand that despite Canada's best efforts it's not the land of Oz. If other countries are better sorted and have your dream jobs waiting by all means have that good life where you can. If you want to work towards building a future in a relatively safe and free nation...and that will mean taking part in ironing out age old problems...maybe Canada is for you.

High taxes, high energy prices, low wages, too much government, crony capitalism, real estate being treated as a speculative investment, too much immigration and nowhere to house them, regulations that deter entrepreneurship, poor health care, refusal to invest in our resource industry, refusal to invest in core infrastructure, declining civil liberties. Lot of these problems have been festering for a while, but things have really gone off a cliff since Trudeau was first elected. Even if you get some wise and saintly philosopher king to replace his corrupt arse, these problems will take years, probably decades to fix. I'm in my late 30s, and basically if I want to get out of this rut, I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and figure out a way to move to the States. I'm getting real tired of grinding my butt working and having nothing to show for it.

This a Biden Admin blunder. When you advertise to the world that the US has free lunch, don’t be surprised when the border gets bum rushed. I'm a Canadian living in the UK now. I love Canada with every piece of my heart but couldn't see myself ever being anything other than working poor there. I went to college but couldn't get a job in my field so had to take whatever minimum wage I could get, couldn't afford rent let alone buying a property so moved in with my parents and there isn't any support from the government for average citizens, only if you're an immigrant, disabled etc. I'm not against helping immigrants, disabled people or those that need it, just sucks that if you don't fall into certain categories it means you'll always struggle in your minimum wage job.\nLife in the UK isn't perfect but I was able to find a decent job here, the public transit is actually usable, phone plans and other bills/groceries tend to be cheaper and the working conditions are significantly better. Like I get 32 paid days off a year in my average job which is just wild to me! In Canada my sister who is a police officer only gets 15 days off a year and that's a lot compared to other people, like I never use to get any paid time off at my previous jobs. I miss parts of living in Canada but for the time being the UK is making my life a lot easier.

Immigration levels are causing the housing market boom. Colleges are paying the government of the day to keep immigration laws lenient as this would encourage more international students. The result- the quality of people coming in this country has dramatically declined. The healthcare has been hit badly as the wait times can be months. Everyone wants to come to Ontario causing unemployment as immigrants work for less pay and ordinary Canadian can’t afford to work for that less. People keep on buying houses and renting it out and millennial can’t buy houses anymore. I don’t know how will canada feed all of us when AI takes our jobs. \nThe past 5-8 years of Trudeau has ruined my Canada.

In Canada, it's got many characteristics of a bubble that will crash during an interest rate rise or economic crisis.\n\nAlso income inequality is not the whole story. Wealth inequality has been rising rapidly in Canada and is made worse by rapidly rising rents and inflation. Owning a home outright or with a smaller mortgage means spending less of your income on housing in Canada's current system, so even at the same income level homeowners are dramatically better off than renters and renters have noticed. It's one thing to point at some graphs of the Gini index and say inequality isn't that bad, but that's not good enough when regular people see homeowners buying fancy cars and taking lavish vacations while renters scrape by.\n\nFurthermore, you pretty much ignored the demographic concerns in Canada. We have an aging population, which means we either need high immigration that worsens the housing crisis or higher taxes to pay for growing healthcare and pension costs. Neither option is good and both paths lead to increases political and economic instability. Demographics is one of the main reasons the OECD has a poor outlook on growth in the long term.

Sad part is that any “anti” immigration stance is just unamerican. But this is obviously out of control. Make an Ellis island type facility on the border. Take their name and info with a waiting period to find any criminal records or prior deportations. Give people the chance to do it legally and stop treating them like cattle in make shift camps. If this video wasn't about Canada you could very well believe that this video was about Australia. We are pretty much the same. There are too many selfish idiots in this country who want to get rich quick through property investing. As a result of this everyone is mortgaged up to their eyeballs in debt. People think that owning investment properties means you're some sort of god. If we didn't have any resources our entire economy would be focussed on building homes. The thing is, the houses that builders build in this country are terrible. They don't insulate well, the materials used are crap, the workmanship is poor. People on average now take out mortgages 6-7x their income. To keep property booming we open the floodgates for immigrants. The societal landscape of our country is changing for the worse. Looking around Melbourne and Sydney, most people are either Chinese or Indian now. These people run away from their countries (which they think are crap compared to the West) and then they buy houses here resulting in people born in Australia losing out.\n\nThe entire thing is a god damn ponzi scheme.

The last time my landlord came to collect rent, I invited him to come up to my apartment to show him I was taking good care of the place (and to hopefully discourage him from renovicting me at some point in the future). He said he didn't have time, as he had to go collect rent from 11 or 12 of his other properties around the city. He also mentioned that he had never seen the inside of my apartment before (despite the fact that he owns it). He has only been in the country for a few years, but apparently he already owned a lot of land here before immigrating. He's a very nice guy, but I can't help but feel that there's something seriously wrong with this picture. We can't base our entire national economy on selling our land and resources to rich foreigners while we produce nothing of actual value.

I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

I dare everyone to go take a look at a bunch of data from GDP per capita, Crime, Business investment to immigration...you'll see a massive inflection point from 2015 on... anyone what to guess who came into power in 2015...what a disaster.

Don't let them come! I know that there are some great Venezuelans out there but there are also some criminals who just try to take advantage of the situation. If immigration happens, it has to be in order and planned. Other SouthAmerican countries took the massive immigration as a way to help Venezuela and ended messing up their economies and lives of their inhabitants. It seems that Canada is not a successful and prosperous country. It has become almost impossible to buy a house by working. it takes millions of immigrants but there are already millions of unemployed in the country, do they take so many immigrants to fill the empty lands, yes, but immigrants are not filling materials

There is absolutely horrible living in Canada. The country is so freaking cold. Home prices are ridiculously high. It takes 20 years or more to save for a 20% down payment on the purchases of homes. High income and consumption taxes make it impossible to save money. Rents are 2/3 of an individual's monthly income. Food costs are very high due to recent inflation. Most Canadians are unable to pay bills more than $500. Yet, Canada wants to attract more immigrants by promoting this country as a nice country to live.

Dude, just separate the families on one side, the single people on another side have them make a single file line instead of pushing through the military and being disrespectful to the same people who can help them. I think the one thing wrong in this video is I don’t believe Canadian’s would rather spend more on living then elsewhere. The cost of housing takes up most income and therefore can’t invest it… not much of an option. After watching this video if you think that what is going on in Canada is not crazy, then take note of the fact that Trudeau government is also making it even harder for gas and oil companies, mineral extraction and even farmers to basically do their job. While Norway, Arab countries and even US are ramping oil and gas production, in Canada Trudeau is concerned more about increasing carbon tax and the rainbow flags. If you're thinking of immigrating to Canada, better consider Europe, USA or developed countries in Asia. I was lucky because I bought property back in 2016. Some of your points are great - some are regional - housing issues are definitely a problem in some cities - Toronto and Vancouver are ridiculous- Calgary at the moment has tight inventory- landlord issues really depend on where you live. Taxes are due April 30th not the 1st. It can be difficult to get hired in your trained profession as an immigrant for the reasons you’ve shared. Our company consists of about 80 percent new immigrants, but we need people with Canadian work experience on their resume. It is costly training - and firing is something we DON’T want to do. So we need good references to hopefully avoid that issue. You were very fortunate to get a Dr so quickly. Again the specialist referral issue truly is more about your Dr than the system. A lousy Dr won’t refer patients because they don’t have the contacts. It’s more complicated than you’ve shared. I have had no problems with referrals because I’ve had good Drs. New Drs will have a harder time and unfortunately those are the ones taking new patients- hopefully those issues change as they get established.

I’m Hispanic and it breaks my heart. I’m not here to insult no one because I do not know no ones situation. I just see people who are desperate but I also believe we should no longer take any more immigrants until we resolve our own problems.

I'm a Canadian citizen I came legally under Federal Skilled worker pathway. I had cancer and recently lost my eyesight due to slip and fall. I sponsored my nephew 2021 as I am alone in Canada. But as a taxpayer, it hurts ?why does it take too long for immigration to consider its own citizens. My nephew had his medicals in August 2022 and nothing from immigration up to now. They prioritize Ukraine and Syria over taxpayers citizens. Too unorganized and fake. Pretending to help people at war and calamities from other countries neglecting its own people who contribute to economy.?

It’s not fair for people who are immigrating under skilled worker track. It takes months or years to get all the required qualifications, paperworks and verifications to get to Canada. Some people will just need to walk in.

I agree with some of your views on Canadian immigration. You mentioned a PR timeline of up to 1 year. That’s what it says in the application process but in reality isn’t always the case. It usually takes much longer esp. if your case file is unique or complex. In order to manage people’s expectations. There’ve been cases where applicants in the express entry process had been in it for over 3 year before receiving their confirmation of permanent residency. It can be a roller coaster journey that you need to be prepared for mentally.

Two solutions. Deport and stop letting immigrants in the country. Since they leaving they countries take it over and develop it like the United States for them.

If we still had manual labor factories like America used to before companies used poor countries for cheap labor, we could take in a lot of immigrants and be an ultra global super power. China wouldn’t be able to compete. Too bad Chinese people are willing to work slave hours for slave payment?
