I hate this so much. I know it’s not these peoples fault that their countries aren’t helping them but America isn’t even helping its own people. Imagine how it feels to be from the US struggling and then these people come and somehow our country has the means to help them when they won’t not can’t won’t help their own. What other country do you know of where you can just decide to cross their boarder demand help and say you know what I’m just going to live here illegally now. And if we don’t help them they have all kinds of ways to sue the state and demand help even though they’re not even citizens. That’s what’s crazy to me. They make you do a bunch of stuff before you can travel and some countries won’t even let you visit let alone live there with or without a criminal record but these people can just walk right in. Any countries borders are important they are there for protection. Ours are not being protected which means the country is not protected. The scene where Roses mom is in the boat with that other lady who has new money the chubby one. She wanted to let people on the boat that were drowning around her, and dude wouldn’t let her. It wasn’t because he was being mean it was because if people started holding onto the boat and trying to get on the boat they would panic, and eventually everybody would swarm the boat. Well the same here there’s people who are already drowning, and other people from other countries want to come here, but all they’re gonna do is sink the ship, and then there will be no help for anybody and everyone will be doomed. You stated you've lived in smaller cities or towns and found them to be nice ..... you're a white guy.... of course you're gonna find the people nice and friendly. It may not be so friendly or nice to anyone who's not white though. Health care coverage through a job means if you lose your job you're screwed for health care while unemployed. I’m not sure about the rest of the country but in Quebec you can’t just go from School to permanent residency. You need to apply for a work visa first and only then can you apply for permanent resident, acceptances take upwards of a year and that’s if it’s a single person. If you have a family or even a spouse more paperwork so it takes longer, I know a few people some who are single and got accepted and families. I know someone who’s been here for years and has extended his work visa because the permanent residency is taking so long because he has a wife and child. Afterwards you need to remain in Canada for like 3yrs before you can apply for citizenship.

Here’s the thing, you are like a fish that is unaware that it is immersed in water. You defend the States in a way an abuse victim thinks what they are experiencing is normal. Trust me when I say people living outside the U.S. (even ex-pat Americans) look at your country with horror even while appreciating visiting your sights or admiring certain customs. You are inured by the conditions in which you live. You are defending your country without being aware that it really could be quite different and many things you see as normal are only ‘normal’ in the States but are actually quite awful. I don't get the argument of better care for american healthcare - maybe because there is 10x the population and so you have more doctors? But I don't really think the care is any different, unless you have some new rare disease, medicine and science are universal. Back in the 1990s about 10 of us were recently graduated nurses from Canada. Going to the states in Texas was Big Adventure. Two of us stayed because they got married but the rest of us move back to Canada within about 5 to 8 years. I loved it down there but Canada felt safer to raise a family. All three of my kids were born down there. We all still love America, Canada's less-populated property is cheaper if you don't live in the major cities, but I think we all mostly maoved back because of family reasons. There is no real Financial incentive to stay because the lifestyles are so similar.

The system is not broken - the primary goal of US immigration is to keep people OUT. Canada has an abundance of natural resources and living space, and needs people. The USA already has an abundance of people. As this video shows so clearly, billions of people want to come, while unemployment continues to be a problem. So, while the immigration system is far from perfect, it accomplishes its primary goal of filtering out the most qualified and most determined people and sending the rest back home, thus keeping jobs available for American-born citizens. We can disagree with the goal, but not it's success.

Bringing all these different cultures together… but if too many from one country show up, they’ll make a community too large that they don’t need to melt with the population. There are Chinatowns and Little Italys and whole Mexican communities, but ultimately everyone has to interact with everyone else. Allowing 300,000 Indians to get green cards every year and only 1,000 Norwegians would lead to the Norwegians merging well with the country, while the Indians would all move to one or two cities and make entire sections of the cities like small versions of their own country. Which is the last thing we want. Once an immigrant community gets enough power to be a voting block, things are scary, but once it has enough power that they start getting their own representatives and passing laws for the rest of us? Laws the look like laws they had back in their own countries… that led them to run from their countries in the first place? It’s a concern. We want people to adapt to the USA and not try to adapt the USA to them. Over time, the US does change due to the growing voting blocs. But that’s after generations of those immigrant populations getting larger, and their children being born and raised in the country they’ve adapted to. When I see a protest of Muslim immigrants burning pride flags, or Chinese and Spanish-speaking Hispanic immigrants who never bothered to learn English, I see problems with our immigration system. But the kids of the Arab immigrants will be more tolerant, and the Hispanic kids will have grown up in American schools. Most Chinese-American kids might speak some Chinese at home with their parents, but they’re worse at it, and their first language is English. It takes second Generation immigrants to really start meshing with America. But if entire school districts are all Indian, and every store, restaurant, and business in a whole town is Indian, then those kids won’t adapt to America. They won’t get bits of their home culture from their time at home and with their neighbors, while also getting bits of American culture from their classmates and other people around them. Nope. They’ll only be exposed to the first Generation who completely took over the area- IF, we allowed for unfettered immigration from the largest countries. It’s a fact that immigrant communities like to stick together. But if not enough people are in that community that you need to reach out to others around you, it helps expose you to the rest of America… Anyway! There are a ton of shows that indirectly show this phenomena. Fresh Off the Boat. The Sopranos. Even Brooklyn 99. We see as traditional and hard-to-adapt parents have to deal with kids in the next generation who are more American, don’t follow the same customs and traditions as their parents, and overall just left more of their old culture behind. No one is asking that immigrants abandon their cultural ties, but if you come to America, there are things that people need to change and accept if they’re going to live here.

Watching this while my passport is being stamped with my permanent residency visa at the Canadian embassy. 100% agree, Canada is definitely poised to win the war for talent while the U.S rests on its laurels. One thing I would like to note is that Canada is not welcoming in only highly skilled workers. If you can work at a Tim Horton's you qualify. This has lead to a flood of new workers who HAVE to have a job in order to stay at a time where the existing labour pool is refusing work due to pay lagging far behind inflation for two decades. Those salaries discrepancies you listed are not exclusive to the tech sector, they are economy wide. Often you'll here talk of a labour shortage in Canada, but ask for the number of applicants to jobs and you quickly find out the reason no one accepted is because the full-time job offered requires a part-time job to barely make ends meet. \n\nAnother factor is that housing happens to be the bread and butter of ~40% of our MP's. Hell our Minister of Housing himself owns properties that have appreciated massively due to the lack of supply and high demand. He then goes on national TV and says high immigration will solve the housing crisis despite Canada already having over 4% of our entire labour force already in the construction industries (America is a little over 3%) and the men and women who build our houses being unable to afford the homes they build ($22.07/hr CAD average or ~$16.66 USD. compared to $22.29/hr USD). 14% of our national GDP is housing. 14% of our entire economy is just money changing hands internally with nothing of value made. \n\nThen you have the combo of landlords benefiting from the immigration programs who try and evict the tenants on their properties to replace them with immigrant labour. They then take the cost of rent right out of their salaries. The workers can't quit their jobs because if they don't have a job they are at risk of being deported and also loosing their homes so they end up shacking 8 to an apartment to try and make ends meet. This becomes the standard the rest of the economy has to meet. \n\nIt is a rare sight to see someone who is anti-immigrant in Canada, but the majority of people here understand that immigration is a problem the way it is currently run. You have people who come here hoping for a new life being forced to sleep outside under bridges because while they may have a job they don't have a home and the shelters are already 200% capacity. Tent cities are the norm in any major urban centre now. There are crack dens in Toronto that are the same price as Castles in the UK. And this problem is only going to get worse.

Use your guns to stop them. Once enough are laying on the floor not moving the rest will think twice.

You are so blinded by the American propaganda machine and I really suggest you at least do some travelling out of country for a prolonged period of time to see how the rest of the world really is. I hope some of these harsher comments at least open your eyes. I am born and raised Canadian who used to spend about a month a year in the states and now I can’t say I’ll go back. The gun violence just in the last few years is sickening. Having bad places to live doesn’t apply to the US anymore, everywhere is bad to live and it’s only a matter of time before the reality comes to YOUR small town. Usually I really like your videos but this one hits a little too hard on how everyone in America has been brainwashed into thinking their normal is ‘great’. Hey..This very helpful,my query is does the degree or NOC chosen matter? Like are there professions that are more sought? Like Australia i believe its easier to go as a skilled migrant for Doctors,Engineers,IT etc the rest of the professions is very challenging and nearly impossible to get invited to apply Does someone in the marketing field stand a chance? Also,are the points required for different felds the same,like the cut off is for example 500(for Doctors, IT, nurses, Drivers etc) or do they have different cut offs for different NOCs? Also,how did you settle there once you arrived? Did you have someone to host you? How long did it take you to get a job?

No way, I have been a Canadian snowbird for 12 years, sold my house in southwest Florida and I am very happy, too many guns, out of control political extremism, and God created every one equal, not Americans first and then the rest of the world.

I pay 0$ per month for healthcare in Canada. I had 12 months of maternity leave for my son. I’m terrified that someone would ‘pew pew’ me or someone I love. And most importantly, people take their dirty af shoes off when they enter my home. Oh…and many American people are just not educated about the rest of the planet and this would drive me nuts.

Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. You definitely have some better weather. Oh, and if you all toned down the religion a bit. Annnd stopped trying to play world police while simultaneously bombing other countries into oblivion to steal their resources. That’s been going on for far too long, and I don’t think the average American citizen even realizes it.

9:30 Actually, Tyler, many children are being shot on a daily basis in the USA, just maybe not in schools. America has over 100 times the numbers of guns deaths for children per capita than Canada. Also your mass shootings are so prevalent that they do not even make the top news in the US anymore, but the rest of the world sees it. I can't even think of the last time we in Canada had a mass school shooting. It does happen, very rarely, about once every 3-4 years, but it is mostly just one on one violence. I think it was 2006 when we last had a mass, indiscriminate shooting in a school.
