I got really lucky and my mom sighed us both up for public housing almost 26 years ago. So i live in a decent one bedroom apartment. It's not the best area downtown. But everywhere else around me is great and only walking distance from anything i coukd need.d?my work is also just two blocks away from my apartment. I work in harm reduction and its sometimes pretty depressing. And my apartment is an ok size. But i get freaking mice. I had to get a cat to catch them and it works. But i shouldn't have to even do that. But my rent is insanely cheap. I feel baf cause gettin on the housing list takea years. Toronto is expensive .

We came to Canada 17 years ago, with nothing, we were lucky, a few years later the kids were moving out, we both are self employed (skilled people from Germany) we worked like oxen, still do, we paid off our own house and soon 2 more rentals, we are close to retirement. Canada was extremely difficult at the beginning, they don't accept knowledge from other places, even if it comes from places like Germany. You got to do it the retarded Canadian way, If you're just some poor lad who works in a Hamburger factory you will stay poor for sure. There is no affordable housing, a blue collar job will keep you poor. You gotta be self employed, THATs the only way here. Winter sucks, we will soon spend our winters abroad. Canadian government is run by communist criminals, there are skilled people moving out of here, lots of them. There are druggies roaming the streets where we live, (and everywhere else) if one ever wants to break into my house I am legally not allowed to protect my family, it's a joke. A bitter one.

They knew WELL in advance that accepting too many immigrants, and not building a matching number of dwellings for them would cause housing shortages and push up prices greatly. They also knew WELL in advance that higher housing costs would destroy discretionary income and push living standards down for the working class. There's no surprises here. If they say otherwise, know for certain they're lying.\n\nCanada's economy is suffering because too much income must be allocated for housing, leaving far less for everything else. Anyone else notice that the increase of truck driver accidents correlates almost exactly alongside the time that we make Indian truck driving licences count in BC? If you are born in Canada these days it costs $19000 to take the class 1 test, but if you are an Indian immigrant you just need to prove that you drove truck in India and they give the licence to you.

Lived in India for 31 years and done 100's thousand kms in good old Maruti Suzuki, most of the public/private bus and truck drivers are A holes in India. There are lot of A holes on our freeways/motorways as well but the %age is lot less. If anyone is seeking for a commercial license in North America from other countries, they have to go thru strict training else there will be high speed moving freaks. There is no concept of stop sign in India.

Look at the minimum wedges in Australia and NZ comparing to their cost of life ? You have the same rental and real estate prices for double the salaries . \n\nLetting foreign interest buy out land and properties trough bidding wars to the point of kicking out Canadians of the market caused this . Wow! This is great and commendable efforts to share your knowledge to benefit the wider community. You have nailed and described all the points so well. I live in Australia and thankfully it worked for us and we are fortunate to enjoy best of both worlds, it doesn't work out that way for everyone though, we indeed worked hard for it. I suggest only venture in these countries if you have skills which are in demands there, else think 10 times or think hard before making a move.

I have friends in the Philippines that wish to move to Canada and all this info plus what I go threw here is good info for them that canada isn't as good anymore as it once was and is very hard to live in and is said from all around canada that more are locating from here to some where else.

And the Israeli people have a right to be secure and live in Israel without the fear of being attacked and killed by terrorists groups or anyone else who hates them.
