You fled the richest nation in the world, for Canada\n What did you expect? \nCanada takes refugees from war zones not from NYY.. Canada doesn't just hand out money. Especially to people who think they can jump our border and our immigration process. There are plenty of people who spent a lot of time and work to earn their citizenship legally. How is it fair to anyone but you lol. Break the law pay the time. Don't come here without even spending a few hours looking into at least our laws ! Duh!

It sucks than Latin American people can be accepted, we have to accept Americans instead and yeah they come and spend money but they come to spread their bad habits, deseases and more and just because we live in third world Countries, thanks for the labels USA.

I don't get it? He spent 15k on a lawyer to gain asylum in canada, why wouldn't he spend that money on becoming a us citizen? Everyone I met that went through the process to be a US citizen said that's about what it costs? I imagine it's easier here specially having kids and an already established life even if you were here illegally to begin with?

Why did he spend that 15000$ to get his citizenship in U.S. or Canada sounds like he wants something for nothing... Freebies...

I'm white and I often feel like I am being followed in stores, doesn't mean that I'm being targeted, doesn't even mean that they are following me. How about the CBC spend some of my tax money on doing a report on how anglo white men are being discriminated against in Quebec, and how affirmative action is actually discrimination.

Powell's Bookstore in Portland, Oregon used to follow my husband who is Native American around but not me if I was alone. I eventually got pissed and turned around and called them out on it and they stopped following him if I was with him but continued following him if he was alone. We finally gave up on them being decent and started buying our books on Amazon even though we prefer to spend at independently owned stores.

I still get followed(STALKED) in stores that I regularly spend a good amount of money in.. I can't stand it.. We had one of the grocery store staff asked by management, to run out and flag my cab because i had looked at a toy but ultimately decided not to buy it.. They assumed i stole that giant toy.. That I totally didn't end up buying with my $220 worth of groceries.. Ridiculous! I regularly spend my fair share!!

I'm American and my only exposure to Canada was spending about 10 minutes walking around a Wal-Mart in Windsor. \n\n...so I can't really speak on the subject.

America is not all about war war war and guns just because we have a big military jeez! And not everyone here has a gun, there are some people that just don't like them for different reasons.\n If you come to a place like Texas yea just about everybody here has one I do, but there are still people even here that don't like um. You can't be an expert on another country by being there 100 something days. And I don't understand where everybody has this impression that all Americans are fat. Americans come in all shapes and sizes the same as everywhere els and other parts of the country are more health conscious than others. In every state you will find hundreds of gyms and plenty of muscled up fit Americans.\n As for the health care thing, I don't get it either but that was Obama momma and his stupid ideas, he was trying to destroy this country on purpose you know he's a muslim and we will never let one of those bastards sneak their way in office again. Now that Trump is in office he is trying to fix that or make it better some how. I have often wondered why can't we have a healthcare system like Canada's but America spends all of it's money on so many things in the world because of our position on the world stage we just can't work that out, thats what happens when you're the world super power.\n Most Americans have health insurance through their employer, a certain amount is taken out of our paycheck every month and if I get sick or have an emergency I pay a small co pay at the doctors office which is 35 dollars and emergency room co pay is 150 the insurance pays the rest.

Wonder why these businesses spend so much time, effort and money just harassing customers who may buy their product?

This is a bit one sided as this study showed Caucasian businesses. How about Asian, Black or other races' establishments and see how they faired with racial profiling. I used to work with someone that worked for high end stores and she mentioned that they do actually go to class to spot someone that will actually spend money vs someone who just wants to window shop and yes they also taught racial profiling. Sales associates will cater more to well dressed shoppers compared to people who wears plain clothing.

Canada's cold, expensive & boring. The people here spend 1/3 of their time talking about America and the other 2/3 about hockey and how accepting and 'nice' they are. Our country hates Americans yet they rely on American brands, tv etc. For their livelihood and know more about their political situation than their own. I want to move sooo badly

I would very much like the muslims to tell us real Canadians what contributions that they are making to our country as a whole. How are they making life in Canada better? How are they bringing stability and growth to our country? They spend time teaching their silly little book to the people in their flock but nothing about Canada, our values, our hopes and aspirations for the country. The silly little book does nothing to further the common good of Canada. It only forwards the wants of the muslim community.\nAnd finally, religion is the bane of intellectual thought. No one and I mean no one, can know about the mind of a god that does not exist.

There are mountains of Other problems among Muslims/.\nWhy are we spending all our time on Hijab and Niqab while neglecting other major problems. As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.
