From one side Im sorry for them…We should expect even more of them since Israel actions recently…On the other hand they pay 5-10 000€ / person to get here…Salaries there are 200-300€ max, so how they should afford that? After Covid - in Pak & Ind - Canada was the most desired destination. I think I saw that young woman on the news a while ago saying her rent was going up . two sisters anyways . I'm sorry to her about her sister. but you have a rental agreement with Mr Singh and should adhere to it or get out . and the other people should get out of that house also or keep paying your rent till you come to an agreement with the owner of the home in Brampton . the law has to change .

Great assessment. My wife left Vancouver 22yrs ago. It was bad then and has only gotten worse. Sadly the residents would rather smoke a joint than vote for a conservative govt and attend a church. There are very few normal people except the dredges of society who migrate to western countries and maybe a few super super rich. The west made it so hard to jump through all the hoops that normal middle class would not want to put in the effort to degrade themselves and go west. As an Indian immigrant myself, I have tremendous sympathy for Canadians. \n\nThe so called diploma mills were always a danger but online classes during covid meant they could quadruple their attendance (and thus, their bottom line). The degrees offered by these colleges are worthless and that's why anyone who's moved to Canada in the last 4-5 years is finding it difficult to get meaningful employment.\n\nOn the other side, the Canadian dream really is sold as a cheaper and safer alternative to the American Dream. This is especially rampant in the state of Punjab where people from villages sell their ancestral property to move to Canada as students only to find the stalemate that is the job sector.\n\nThis in turn puts pressure on the economy, the housing market, and the welfare programmes. I think the immigration needs to halt for a while. A LOT of students are lacking in technical and linguistic skills to propel the Canadian economy and society forward and they'll need to not be given Permanent Residencies. PR should go to highly skilled immigrants who are integrating into the Canadian society instead of turning Brampton into mini India.

I'm an immigrant to Canada. I've been here for 35 years (came here when I was 6). The current immigration/migration/ayslum seeker rates have gone completely insane. It isn't racist to think it's gone overboard. I went to very very multicultural schools. I grew up in Toronto and have lived downtown for 20 years now. I love our multiculturalism but there are limits to immigration if there simply isn't an infrastructure to support countless hundreds of thousands of people trying to move into the city each year. It's not sustainable at all. The roads aren't getting bigger, the housing zoning isn't getting easier, new hospitals aren't being built. You cannot try and cram 4 million people in a city built for like 2 million people. People moving to Canada simply do not realize just how absurdly expensive this place has become. What's the better alternative being poor in India or being poor in Canada? Because unless you are making 100k a year you are going to basically be poor in Toronto.\n\nThe big big difference as someone who has lived downtown Toronto for 20 years is now the homeless are very multicultural. 10 years ago it wasn't like that as much. Now people from every race and every background are at risk of homelessness. It's a rate race, it's a very competitive city for housing and jobs and as soon as you aren't in making $$$$$ you will fall behind.

Canada is so broken now. I came here in 2010, it was amazing back then. Now, every single day I regret not moving out of Canada earlier and not changing my career on time. There is no living standard now and its about surviving now. Everything I am earning is just going towards bills and tickets. The cops are everywhere giving fines for smallest of mistakes to make sure refugees and asylum seekers get paid almost $2000 every month. Also, if you are making above $90K household wise, you are done, you cannot get so many benefits from the government. Basically, now working in Canada means paying for lifestyle of lazy people.

Canada needs people for low end/tough jobs, but also high end jobs. The problem is importing a bunch of people into a broken system is not going to do anything but cause problems for the most part. Canada should have invested in the people already here, change the laws and policies, get rid of the red tape and have common sense legislation.

We'd go to Whole Foods and fill up cause the assumption was the bougie people went there to do the same and so it'd be less likely that we'd get bad batches.\nWhen I got back to Ontario I remember thinking to myself damn I can finally drink out the tap again.

The ruling class is using immigrants as cheap labor. They don't care about their well being nor do they care about that of Canadian citizens. They want to bring in about 550K each year going forward when people are suffering. They don't build nearly enough homes or rental units. We don't have enough doctors and nurses. We get paid West Virginia wages but must pay California level housing costs. Diploma mills have sprung up like crazy charging $40,000 for worthless degrees. There are not enough jobs that pay even minimum wage. As a consequence many who immigrate to Canada leave after a year or two.
