Thank God for the internet, it allows us to hear the thoughts and feelings of others, especially the young people. Everything you've said is true but the other side of the story is why many people decide to live here. Maybe you should do a piece on why people want to live in Canada. I am here 40 yrs now and i still love this country. If you stay long enough you will get to love it too. differences spark excitement.

I listened to your chat. I did not appreciate some of your reasons for why people leave Canada. First of all life is what you make it. There are lots of things to do if you are interested in being active. Canada is a very beautiful country and there are lots of places to visit and enjoy. \nYou need to educate yourself about what people are paid in the US and Canada. The minimum wage is a lot higher in Canada. I suggest that you leave Canada and then you will appreciate what a wonderful country we live in. Go to Trinidad for example and buy groceries ...pay over a thousand dollars a week for food, then tell me that food is too expensive in Canada. (25.00 for a box of cereal)!Go to a hospital there and you will wait for a whole day just to be seen. Yes, we have a shortage of medical doctors and nurses here, but they are trying to fix that. Sure we pay taxes, but if you or someone in your family needs a heart transplant, a knee replacement or whatever, you will get it FREE in the hospital, and while you are in the hospital, your bed will have sheets and pillow cases. Drive your car on the roads in Trinidad and the potholes will ruin your tires, not to mention the frame of the car. Your taxes also maintains parks, roads and bridges for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. The government has no control over the weather, so complaining that it is too cold or rainy is up to mother nature. During the lockdown I am sure you received money from the government to help you, everyone did. Do you think other countries paid their people money to help them get through this crisis?? NO!\nI love Canada, it has been good to me and I never regretted emigrating here 42 years ago. I go traveling to other countries and I see how other people live and I am happy to come home. Appreciate what you have or if you are so unhappy, use the passport that you said is so powerful.

You started the video with an opinion not a fact. You can In fact gain wealth here. You have access to RRSPs and tax Free Savings accounts to help with Taxea for people earning over 6 figures. No one has tries to take your money, the policies are clear as day. You also have access to the Canadian stock market where they will allow you to keep 50% of your excess and tax the other 50%. Your statement needs way more context and a broader discussion. Stil love the video but we need to state all the facts. Also the mentality of me paying taxes and taking care of people is what causes my home country on Jamaica to be in trouble. Your little tax money ain't taking care of anyone. There are over 23 million people here trust me we are giving cents to initiatives in Canada. Quality of life, Security, Health Care, Children Support, Old Age Pension, access to great jobs if you are will to put in the work and start over. Again we can't come here and expect to just fall in. You just joined a line of thousands of people in your career field who have been fighting to get great job opportunities. You have to fight and you will be okay. Or do what many people did and change your career and you can have a special life here. Obviously nothing is better than home

Cold weather, it`s punishing to my joints,not to mention dragging myself to go to work in the winter, real punishment to the spirit.A foreign passport(swiss) opened countless doors for me but I cant imagine being anywhere else than here.And if there is a day I decide to leave, it will be back to Africa but not any European country.\nWow we have minimum 4 weeks vacation here, in my working place,we all have 5 weeks and I love it.Unfortunately we can`t take the 5 weeks in one go, you have to divide it into 3 or 4= 1,2,1,1.

I think relocating to Canada and subsequently leaving is a product of not having proper information or having a misconception about a western country before moving there in the first place. There's an emphasis of 'you really have to work hard' for new immigrants which they generally take for granted. Quite frankly, only sincere people empathize on hardwork. I find that most people seeking suggestion/advice always want to start from the top to bottom rather than bottom to top. Every society has it's own challenges. New immigrants who have just been in Canada for only 3years get frustrated while comparing themselves with people who have lived in Canada for 15 years. Growth is a gradually process, when it's automatic it's too good to be true!! All these similar countries run the say type of system, you gotta love where you chose to live. With that being said, we will continue to welcome new immigrants who re willing to start from the beginning to grow their dreams and wave goodbye to people who came and decided to leave. I love Canada ??

I'm American born of Haitian descent and I think these type of videos are annoying. I find that Africans/Nigerians love to country hop while adding little to nothing in the way of cultural and social betterment in their temporarily adopted countries. When I travel it's out of a genuine love of travel versus constant economic movement. Stop expecting that one country is going to give you everything that you're looking for. There are pros and cons to living anywhere. Happiness and fulfillment comes from within self and not always geographical borders.

Immigrating to Canada to seek greener pasture is abracadabra. The fact is when you made an important decision that fails, you escalate your commitment to that decision. That’s why many can’t go back home, while others seek migration elsewhere. By and large, Canada is a lovely country where you don’t have people killing each other by the minutes. Like you said, it’s a tradeoff and it’s either you go to the US where you are 10 times likely to become homicide victim, but have much better occupational mobility and opportunities or you choose Canada where there’s peace and tranquillity, but low occupational mobility and limited opportunities.

Im Asian and I love Vancouver! The weather is beautiful and mild! I enjoy the rainy days cozying up with nice jazz music on gorgeous cafes and restaurants Vancouver has. It is expensive yes, however if your Asian its not, you just havent explored the Asian market place, cheap housing are also available in the outskirt cities and the best part of it is you are near the beaches and outdoor recreation and fun! Taxes are high yep thats true however with three different surgeries my family had from Apendicitis, to Gall bladder stone removal and stent angioplasty that could have cost us millions but got it for free, also the Free education, Child support, CERB, etc, taxes doesnt seem to matter anymore. British Columbia's mountain ranges, ski resort, hot springs, also Albertas Banf, Jasper, and Canmore for me are truly majestic safe and beautiful! Ive been all around South east Asia Europe and even the middle east however the welcoming nature and culture of Canadians and the power of a canadian Passport for me trumps all other cities in other countries. If you want to learn extreme news go to Asia like, China, North Korea, and the Philippines, also the USA the most extreme of them all! Rules are indeed frustrating but Canadian rules are nothing compared to Singapore, if you want freedom try India, try to walk in sexy clothing on the streets. In the Philippines everybody drives drunk specially on Friday nights. The Canadian mindset of a Multi cultural communinty and the welcoming athmosphere of their thinking for me is the reason why Canada is truly the best place to live.

I also put up with the high cost of living due to the multiple taxes to be paid, the highest in North America, which means that, paradoxically, it still costs less to live here than elsewhere in Canada and to the social safety net Quebecers benefit and which is the envy of many citizens elsewhere in the country. The shadow on the board: the hostility and racism of English Canada, including most Anglophones in Quebec and the allophones who join this recalcitrant community towards Quebec and Francophones in general, the ambient wokism, the complacency of the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, who has transformed the city into a huge bike path, Justin Trudeau's hypocrisy regarding Quebec legislation for the protection of language and secularism, which he intends to challenge before the Supreme Court of the country . If I weren't so attached to Quebec, these would be the main reasons that would make me leave Quebec, but to go where, like the wandering Canadian of song, banished from his homeland... Where? Spot on with everything. I always rant to my friends about all of this. I’m moving to Europe from Toronto. I have a few options thanks to my work but still trying to decide which country. I guess theres a reason most Europeans don't immigrant to Canada anymore compared 2nd/3rd world countries. \n \nLifestyle, food quality, work culture etc. I love F1, soccer and European history, so thats always a treat while im there. I can’t see myself getting married and raising a family in Canada. All Canada not only Vancouver it’s very isolated.\nPeople can’t afford to buy a house because the house marketing is 3 times the price compared to USA. The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. You have to wait (to be true emergencies are different, they are good on that) you have to wait like 12-24 months to get an appointment with a specialist (gynecologist, etc) dental is not covered. \n\nExcuse my English I know it’s not very good but I love your video and I had to left my comments

After watching this video, i still want to make my move to canada in the next 1 to 2 years. Because canada is a big upgrade from usa. Im from texas and i hate the hot weather that lasts 11 months of basically summer. and always dreamed about cold cloudy weather instead. Im 21 and im planning to get my education there so it's not really a big problem for me compared to other people who already studied in their home country. Basically life quality is better and i dont have to worry about the sad things that happen here. I love canada and i want to be a proud Canadian.

Try to impose Christian law in their country your HEAD WOULD BE CHOPPED OFF ! If they love these religious laws so much why not move to the country that enforce them ??

I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.

In your opinion/to your knowledge, do immigrant teachers easily pick up their trade? I'm a high school teacher and am thinking about emigrating. I'm from the Netherlands, so the financial bottom line is pretty much the same, if not slightly better in Canada. I worked for 2 years in the US, near San Francisco, and I miss the way of life, there was just more to do and more nature, I've been thinking about going to Canada because the climate is somewhat more alike to my own, the country is better set up than the US, and I love the nature.

I'm from québec/Montréal, I love my country. I still hate winter even if it's short december to mars but it's great for peoples that love winter sports. It's a peacefull country and we don't like war.

Quebec, Nova Scotia and NFLD are tied for history. I suggest visits to Fortress Louisbourg & The Citadel in Halifax and yes Montreal & Quebec City are historic and lovely. You have reminded me of why my friends from the subcontinent love Canada and wish to make their home in our drop dead beautiful country. Really, their is no worst in Canada unless you want to live on the beach all year. Then your likely to get skin cancer.

I understand this fully as I came to Uk as a child 60 yrs ago. .. I feel the same way today. These western countries lack sense of community and neighbourhood... and spend most of their lives in loneliness thus leading to depression. 14 years ago my father passed away and I brought his body back to India .. as he loved coming and spending his retirement years back home in India.\nI miss him so much and also have started coming to india every year since his death.I’m also retired now. \nI have come to understand how people from our countries look forward to emigrate to make a better living and earn money without realising the consequences that this will have on our lives. \nThank you so much for this video.?

I have been to many different countries. Seems people pay rents or mortage and only go in the house to sleep in many countries. Families all live nearby. Being a single parent here is a hard life. Even family wont help you much of the time. In countries I have visited..most life seems to happen outside, groups of people outside talking or walking around, lots of life and activity. The USA is the land of the lonely, broken families and people strung out on drugs or drunk. If you are not watching your child, they can be kidnapped. Many people dont allow their kids to roam around alone. I crave to go to other countries and enjoy. I love the USA, dont get me wrong. Saturday nights here, Tucson, 1000s of people are partying downtown.. so there are things people do communally here, partying is one of them. Some sporting events as well.. huge crowds of people go to various sporting events, football, basketball, baseball and hockey are the main ones.

I've been to many cities across indias length and breadth for job and education. Every place I went, first thing I did was to befriend the neighbourhood tea stall/tobacconist (used to smoke back then) there's one at every corner. You visit that place regularly you share a laugh and a nod with other regulars. To the point they ask abt u if they don't see u for a couple of days. Then u add them on Facebook and see th living their lives for the rest of the life. \n\nWe talk to random people everywhere and in India atleast, a stranger is truly a friend you're yet to know. And that is what I love the most abt my country. And can't imagine living anywhere else.

It’s totally different mindset.\nA home is for family (not alone), safe place. \nIn the States is privacy and if you want to be involved in a hobby, sport, etc. you go and get involved in a club!\nLook at a movie from the 1960s, i.e. ‘It’s a beautiful life’ the whole town was involved in each others life, you truly feel the love from all your neighbors.\nThat changed with all the different immigration changes, and different cultures that are not assimilated and they form their own sub-culture. The whole American experiment was for immigrants to assimilate in the American culture, but as mentioned that has started to get lost, because now you have many neighbors that don’t speak English. \nI don’t think what he is describing in this video about the countries where he is coming from are that efficient, where people stay outside all day and talk all day and not actually doing any work, but just talk, talk, talk. I come from Eastern Europe and that was what my parents and grandparents did everyday, a lot of youth now just want to be left alone and do their business and have their circle of close friends to be productive with their time.\nI would say for the American people, immediate family is what is strong.

I love India. Lovely country. Rich culture. Best place to bring up children. Big family. But it all depends on person to person. Will never feel lonely. Very kind, compassionate and loving people. In America too much cell phones nobody talks only text. Cold people no interaction no socialize only depression, drugs, drugs, drugs, money money, money, cell phones all day and fighting . \n\nPeople mean rude in USA I fight with everybody in USA too much racism. Life is good, you keep watching even the awful movies from your country, connect with the friends back home and read every news bit longing and comparing the life at home…that is the life we lived\n\nSuddenly, after my husband’s death, the light bulb finally turned on and moved to India to raise my son 6 years back. The impromptu play dates, relatives and friends dropping in, the casual conversations with the milkman, newspaper guy, the screaming noise when the kids are getting out of school, friends volunteering to take your kids for a weekend getaway… these little people connections are so important. \n\nWestern countries economically developed. But hungry for love and connection..

I am Dominican and American citizen. This is SO REAL! We lose so much to win income and things. But LONELINESS is a great price to pay. Here you will lose your identity, your roots, your life , to become maybe more financially stable. I love America, with all my heart, but I realize it is a totally different world. It is designed to work, work, work, and forget about family, friends, relationships. We will get more toys, more things, and more order and organization, less open corruption, but will also have to settle for less life in community, settle for materialism and individualism. Settle for a lifeless life. Loneliness is a very high price for a better car, or bigger house or opportunities. And still...I.love America. My advise, unless you have your whole (or many) family here..\nStay in your country!

This really comes down to introvert versus extrovert personality types. Most Western countries are great for introverts who need their space to function at their best potential. If you are a Type-A extrovert, a social animal who thrives among multitudes of people, then you'll just have to work harder to establish your circle of friends and you might be miserable if you're not able to do that. I live in the United States and I love being not bothered by anybody. No complaints at all. No marks for guessing my personality type of course.

Hi I am from Sierra Leone ??, I know the culture and lifestyle are quite different, Africa is noisy and busy round the clock but if it up to me,living quietly like this wouldn't change my mental status because honestly I live like this in my country.\nI don't like partying or going out much,I just love my own peace of mind and quietness.\nI agree with what your saying but not everyone sees this as boring, many in Africa lives in villages and towns just like this

I'm Canadian and I love my peace and quiet. \nIn most countries, where people are crawling over eachother this kind of life style is a luxury.

My step-sister lives in Whitehorse and claims to love it there, so much so that she barely comes back to Ontario. I guess it just depends on the person. As for me, after having lived overseas for a couple of years in the UK, I can honestly say that there's just no place like home. Canada, like any country, has its issues but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else permanently. :)
