A lot of people actually spend a lot of money, get higher education, get English language accreditation and rack up work experience just to get to Canada LEGALLY as an immigrant, where they have to start from the bottom again. People like Jose expect to just breeze by and benefit from Canada's resources with schemes and false claims of asylum seeking. He should be deported. He hasn't even made the effort to speak English and acclimate.

Get out! Canada doesn't even take care of its own aboriginal people. No fresh water, homes for shelter, or schools. This border crossing that people are getting away with is disgusting. I'm sick of these sob stories. Are those people really that stupid? I'm beginning to think they really are. This man had been in the States for several years according to this video. He was in the States illegally. He clearly never bothered to learn English, and it looks like that for his family too. Then he gets scared because Trump got elected and actually starts ENFORCING IMMIGRATION LAW. So he flees to Canada just because of something a really STUPID and poorly liked PM says. So he takes his family and again is expecting to be given asylum, and then does no research to find out the facts about Canada's immigration system before he goes there. Then he complains about having to spend all his money. Oh gee, did he actually think they would just give him free everything??? Clearly the threat he's complaining about in his own country is not that bad, since Canada rejected his asylum. So what does he do? He refuses to turn up for his hearing, and then he flees to another province. Totally criminal activity. Canada's immigration people need to round him up and deport him. It's his OWN FAULT he is separated from his family. HE BROKE THE LAW!!! There are CONSEQUENCES to breaking the law. Sheesh!!! I'm so sick of hearing these sob stories from these freeloaders. So you're accepted into the USA under a protection program, when it starts looking like your program is ending, you jump ship and start trying to ignore your program that your in that states you have to go home...\n\nThe mere fact that you're escaping to Canada shows you don't care about you immigration program and agreement, so why would we want to accept you? You'll just take as much as you can from our resources and economy and then jump ship the first chance you get, when you think there's a better oppurtunity.

I am emigrating to Canada as a permanent resident and I'd like to weigh in. You have to have $12,200 before you can arrive, you don't get government funded healthcare for 3 months or other benefits. I agree with this policy

America is not all about war war war and guns just because we have a big military jeez! And not everyone here has a gun, there are some people that just don't like them for different reasons.\n If you come to a place like Texas yea just about everybody here has one I do, but there are still people even here that don't like um. You can't be an expert on another country by being there 100 something days. And I don't understand where everybody has this impression that all Americans are fat. Americans come in all shapes and sizes the same as everywhere els and other parts of the country are more health conscious than others. Yeah, we're not so awful... I'm American, living in Canada, and honestly, I'm here for my husband, who is Canadian. I absolutely ADORE him. The only thing that annoys me about Canada is the fact they seem to hate diabetics, anyone on a low-carb diet, or anyone who just doesn't want to eat a ton of sugar. In fact I can't get anything sugar-free in a store (simple things, like sugar free coffeemate, sugarfree cake mix) unless I pay, I'm not even lying here, TWENTY TIMES THE PRICE on Amazon, (I'm not paying $85.00 for a 10.2oz canister of coffee creamer... WTF?) That is 3.49USD in any walmart. These people have to be kidding me.

I am czech, we relatively recently (1989) get rid of totalitarian communists here.I just do not get how is it possible that Canada or Muslims in general are so welcoming to the totalitarian systems - where women are forced to cover the faces. Canada is so far ahead in dealing with a true multi race society! Wow!!! It's impressive! Other countries should only hope to get near to this standard. Canada is not all the way there yet but if they continue trying like this. Wow!!!

We live in N.Y. about 2 hrs from the border to Canada and we love to go to NOTL for a quick vacation whenever we can - usually 4 or 5 times a year! We find Canadians to be WAY more chill than Americans and we love visiting Canada. One thing I'll tell you is figure out the insurance because we've had employees who didn't bother to do this resulting in them having none. When that happens, and you file your income taxes, the IRS takes a fine out of your return. The first year it's like $100, but it goes up each year. After a few years they can fine you like $600. Depending on how much you earn you may be able to apply for assistance in paying your health care premium or may not have to pay at all. I would encourage you to do that before you start getting fined...and welcome to the USA lol!

As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.

I am an ex-muslim and I live in Turkey. Here is not Middle East but some people want to turn here to Middle East. They want sharia and they are not weak. I wanna get the fuck out of here and live in place with respectful people like Canada.
