I was born in Ottawa. Over the course of my 45 years I have watched the country become progressively worse the entire time I've been alive. I don't begrudge anyone jumping for their lives at this point. My only wish is that everyone in the world acknowledge that the only thing that makes Canada a horrible place to be is the government, or at least the government for the past 45 years.

I worked with a Pharmacist who Escaped Canada almost 20 years ago, now he wanted out for Tax Purposes , he definitely was not a Typical Canadian and he probably didn't see this Coming, he just wanted to keep a Much higher Percentage of his Check and knew from his Parents that would never happen in Canada

Canadians are paying a deep price for their naivete electing a self-serving narcissist to run the country. Everything collapsing in your face. Once the government changes next year, everyone will realize that the situation is likely 10X worse than they thought. Leaving Canada is certainly sad but good decision. Hi Alina !! Good for you!! GOOOO!!!!I lived in Japan and China for a decade. I came back to Canada 4 years ago to find a decadent, unsafe, expensive country. Canada is not the shadow of the amazing country that I deeply loved. The only way I could survive these last four years was to leave Canada for at least 4 months a year. I am leaving Canada again tomorrow, but this time is for good. Do I feel sad? not anymore. I will always remember Canada but the new reality is just a nightmare !!!!

It's coincidence that Canada started to go downhill 10 years ago as it was when our current PM took office. I moved here in 2022, built my life, my family, but now my goal is to move out... VERY SAD, BUT TRUE.

Still, Canada can provide you a strong passport. I suppose you never experience the pain of having to apply a visa to every country you go except Singapore.

How did they sort out their housing difficulties but not Canada? Try to be creative problem solvers and be humble and learn from others. That's fucked up and it makes really freaking mad. I worked so many years and over times for what. I got chronicly ill didn't work for 3 years and got SSI and I don't even get $900 dollars. Migrants just walk over and get $1,400 WTF I'm a citizen who came here legally and paid my way ? I have nothing against migrants but darn you get all those benefits why then give them so much money. Don’t blame everything on the new immigrants. They had no idea about the circumstances before entering Canada. It’s the government that lacks the discretion on immigrant allocation and housing/healthcare capacity before issuing so much visa.

European union countries have all got good social services and health systems. You want to benefit from the system? I don't think I really want to know how much it's costing born and raised Canadians to support the immigrants that are coming. I knew that we were in trouble back in 2009 when Ruby Dhalla wanted immigrant seniors to be able to collect from the canada pension plan after three years, instead of the ten years.

I know, what I am about to say isn't easy to swallow. Because I also understand how prevailing sentiments of fear are, when it's easier to blame another group for our shortcomings. Problem is we don't get to choose who comes into Canada, but we are perfectly accountable for whom we vote. Who we vote responsible in the end for policies that make or break a Country. They draft 5-10-20 years road maps for a Country's growth, the trace demographic's trend, births, jobs creations etc etc. They are responsible to understand Economics factors and how they are interwoven into Global trenches. Furthermore they are responsible to manage money budget and spending but above all control waste. I mean Canada became an Global Oil dominator second only to Saudi and we blame migrants? Sounds to me we should kick someone's teeth in, but that ain't my neighbour Cheng or Abhuoul. BTW I was born in the late 70's from Italian migrants, came back again in 95. I left a dead Canada in early 2000 and never looked back.
