As an American, I got tell you, OUR PRESIDENT IS AN IDIOT! He doesn't understand, how tariffs work. Or is purposely inflicting pain to all Americans with them, because he is clueless. He refuses to educate himself.

Im an American and I support President Trump. to the leaders of Canada, have you brought your very best to the negotiating table? no one wants tariffs, but we also want fair trade.

These tariffs are just a way to tax consumers because the government has overspent and raising taxes on individuals is unpopular!

Canada imports food from the US. So 25% tariffs on that food will hit Canadians big time. And there is no other place to get that food. I am afraid Trudeau is standing on glass legs.

It is vital to create a new organization for commerce that unites all the countries that are being threatened by Trump. Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, UK, South Korea, and contries that are willing to fight against trump tariffs. Working together is more than necessary to create a competitive and sustainable economic environment

As he states the tariffs is not related to fent, what is the actual reason he sees for these tariffs?

?Trudeau is a bad joke and worse, a liar. Trump demands secure borders to protect our citizens. Trump is establishing RECIPROCAL tariffs to improve our economy in a fair and just manner. Trudeau says Canada is “polite,” but the hockey game between us proved otherwise. Canada is a neighbor we can live without. \nHopefully Canada will return to sanity, common sense and decency under new leadership and we can resume previously held good relations with our Northern neighbors.

In a few months from now, if these tariffs still exist and we will all be suffering, trump will try and blame canada, saying its our fault the tariffs are in place. Please remember that trump started it, not us!!

Good for them, they should raise those tariffs to double what they are right now. Make US pay! These policies are not what many Americans voted for ?

I am an American. I am not sure why trump is continuing to tariff Canada since they held their end of the bargain and improved border security. This is getting out of hand.

I just watch mr trump speak with regards to tariff impose on canada mexico and china..he's proud in saying that a lot of foriegn companies will soon build factories and offices in the US. Providing billions of jobs and revenue. He said that if these companies would come to the United States where will be no tariff, lower taxes and easy life for the Americans. Trump is lifting sanctions on Russia and imposing sanctions on allies, via tariffs.

Tariffs just end up hurting the final consumer, Trump needs to implement measures that promote American growth and American Industries but not hurting the final consumer. Also Russia is the aggressor and needs to pay for all the destruction it has caused so far and economic impact !!

We asked for Canada to control the border, they did not. The tariff came after this request was denied. Canadians should be concerned about dangerous people coming through their country to get to the US. I hope your government shows more concern for your welfare as our president does for ours!???

Secondly Trudeau, why hadn't you done this before? Why hadn't you invested in all this imaging, drones etc to stop fentanyl immigration and the harmful things that you knowingly allowed to enter America? Secondly, why are the tariffs so disapproportionately unfair for the American goods if they can even get there at all. But yours are being sold for pretty much not much of an increase
