I live in Manitoba where the cost of living is pretty close to the cheapest in Canada. Yes minimum wage is $11.95 and apparently going up shortly. Free health care you mentioned waiting 8 hours in emergency but you failed to mention if you need to see a specialist your talking months and you'll probably die first. Canadians don't pay much more than Americans in taxes. Infact, the taxes for rich Americans is higher than for equivalent incomes in Canada. However, Canadians get much more from their government than Americans. I think the reason why Nigerians complain in Canada is because the initial process of getting documents and setting down is too easy in Canada, so when they settle down to work and realize that they actually have to work hard to pay for the goodies, they begin to complain

I have to respectfully disagree with you girls on the tax system in Canada. You mention that you cannot be a millionaire or a billionaire. \n\nI really think that is the problem with our generation, excessive greed, everyone wants to be a millionaire/billionaire, but the reality is most of people in this world will only live an average middle class life or below, that has been the case throughout history in every country on earth. \n\nInstead of wanting to be a millionaire you should strive follow your passion and to master your craft, and if and when you do so, the end result maybe you achieving millionaire billionaire status \n\nThis how most rich people got their wealth, they worked at their craft and had passion and eventually they got the wealth that came along with it \n\nI agree with Canada's progressive tax system, the only problems we have run into since 2010 is that the government has been misallocating taxes collected and giving co-operate tax breaks. All the problems explained are true but they are here for a reason. It can sound cruel to make a doctor take an extra 4 years of school but you have to understand that the diploma they got in their home country is not equivelent to the quality of a canadian one. Hell, in Cambodia, you can pay 100 000K and you are a certified doctor, that can't fly in Canada.

What you are not telling your viewers is that higher taxes in Canada pay for the free healthcare for all which the US does not have. The cost of healthcare in the US if you happen to be poor and without insurance can wipe you out. This is the major reason for the difference in taxes. There is obviously room for improvement in health care delivery.

About the Healthcare system. If they have shortage of workers on Healthcare. Then I suggest that they should employ more workers from overseas just like Uk that is always employing workers from overseas to boots their shortage occupation list mostly on Healthcare.\nFor me I love Canada but the only reason I might not like to live there is the cold weather. I couldn't agree with you more. Canada has become another one of those mindless Totalitarian states like American China, Russia, etc., etc. I spent 10 years in China working as a teacher. I went there because I was fed up in my country and when I returned it was worse than when I left. As I am now 68, if I can afford to leave again I will and I'll never return again. I told the Chinese who knew me I was returning because I missed the land, but I never really missed the people. Now that I'm back, since Jan. 2022, I want to leave again and I will and Never return. Health care in this country is in the Sh*t-house, it's impossible to get a family Dr. In part I returned for medical reasons, but now would rather die than have to deal the the Canadian medical bureaucracy - REALLY !!! This is the reality we face after the excitement of moving to Canada fades off. The worst for me is the fact that you get this 'big job' that pays well and after it all, govt has a way of redistributing it. It's really frustrating and it discourages some people for looking for higher paying jobs bcos at the end, govt still takes it. My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Eight reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to Asia. You're not sharing reasons immigrants leave but trying to convince people to not come to Canada because competition is spoiling your party. Im Asian and I love Vancouver! The weather is beautiful and mild! I enjoy the rainy days cozying up with nice jazz music on gorgeous cafes and restaurants Vancouver has. It is expensive yes, however if your Asian its not, you just havent explored the Asian market place, cheap housing are also available in the outskirt cities and the best part of it is you are near the beaches and outdoor recreation and fun! Taxes are high yep thats true however with three different surgeries my family had from Apendicitis, to Gall bladder stone removal and stent angioplasty that could have cost us millions but got it for free, also the Free education, Child support, CERB, etc, taxes doesnt seem to matter anymore. British Columbia's mountain ranges, ski resort, hot springs, also Albertas Banf, Jasper, and Canmore for me are truly majestic safe and beautiful! Ive been all around South east Asia Europe and even the middle east however the welcoming nature and culture of Canadians and the power of a canadian Passport for me trumps all other cities in other countries. If you want to learn extreme news go to Asia like, China, North Korea, and the Philippines, also the USA the most extreme of them all! Rules are indeed frustrating but Canadian rules are nothing compared to Singapore, if you want freedom try India, try to walk in sexy clothing on the streets. Spot on with everything. I always rant to my friends about all of this. I’m moving to Europe from Toronto. I have a few options thanks to my work but still trying to decide which country. I guess theres a reason most Europeans don't immigrant to Canada anymore compared 2nd/3rd world countries. \n \nLifestyle, food quality, work culture etc. I love F1, soccer and European history, so thats always a treat while im there. I can’t see myself getting married and raising a family in Canada. Ok. I think the 1st reason says it all. You were not happy.\nI moved to Canada (Montreal and then Toronto) from Spain (Barcelona) and it has been nothing but positive for me. I could drive earlier, studies were so much more practical, I had asthma and it went away (lot less air pollution), jobs were better, bigger houses, less people. Every province has good and bad qualities, except Ontario. I lived in Ontario on and off for about 20 years. Not one good thing comes to mind about this province, not one. I've also lived in Quebec and Alberta, both great. Ontario is like the armpit of Canada, it just stinks, definitely because of the government overreach, extremely high tax robbery on everything you buy, very high cost of living compared to both Quebec and Alberta. Both Alberta and Quebec are wayyyyyy cheaper to live than Ontario, and to be totally fair, the people in Ontario seem to be the most narcissistic i've seen within 3 provinces i've lived in, and with the worst roads. So much car repairs every single year from just driving on the main roads, which are basically just pot holes because they line their pockets with the taxes instead of using the money to fix the roads. The people in gov make so much money, there is none left after their payday to fix the roads or build any parks or things for families. Ontario is actually a bad place to live, especially with other good options available, it's the only province i don't recommend moving to if you want a decent quality of life. You can't even find a doctor here unless you live within or drive for 2 hours to get to the city. It's extremely inconvenient and expensive for no reason other than tax grabs and high fees for every single thing you have to do in life, there's a high fee for that in Ontario.

Canada has no culture of its own. People from all around the world gathered here to escape wars, political issues, or for economic reasons from their home country. When honeymoon period is over (around 5 years) they start realizing that leaving behind their own people, culture, festivals, food, etc was not a good idea. Life in Canada (maybe in United States too) is very monotonous and robotic. Years and years go by\nand people are doing same thing over and over. Weather is very unpredictable to plan out anything in advanced. Due to bad weather entire country is designed to be indoors. People leave their wooden houses in cars to work in buildings with no open windows. Unless you leave in core downtown you won't see people on road as everybody is either in their vehicles, in their house, or slaving away at work. To all people who are looking to relocate to Canada: If you are doing well in your home country then do not leave. Life in western countries look good from far but when you live here it's different. Loneliness and depression will be your biggest enemy. Stay in your home country around your own culture and people.

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.

I am from India living in USA for 13 years now and I disagree with your analysis. We tend to compare and jump to conclusions quickly coming from a warm climate. This video is taken in winter, look at trees they have no leaves. People are inside b'cos its cold. Take a video in summer and you will find kids playing, swimming in pools and more lively atmosphere people walking around. In cold weather kids and people play sports in indoor arenas. The civil society is disciplined and they are following rules and laws to play at demarcated areas like parks and playgrounds. You won't find people playing on streets. My daughter plays gymnastics and you will appreciate that its a community effort to organize it. Without community sports like gymnastics is impossible to exist. Imagine 500 lbs cushions to move and organize so players can play. All parents gather and make it happen. And such teams of parents are there in every little town. This is just 1 sport. American life revolves around sports more than another country. So its a different country and if u compare USA\\Canada to India or Africa the difference is like Heaven and Hell. I will be lying if I said I was not depressed, but the reasons for my depression were not related to location or space I am in. I was feeling lonely and depressed even in India living among 1.3 billion people. So its not a matter of place but the inner space.
