This is very true. I am an Austrian citizen that tried to immigrate into Canada from 2021-2023, I worked my ass off, working 2 jobs for most of my stay and living as cheaply as possible. I still burned through all my savings and a significant amount of money my family sent me to help out. I had an accident and waited for hours for an ambulance to show up, they transported me to a different city because in this town none of the two hospitals had a fucking X-Ray machine. Then the next morning the hospital in the other city kicked me out again, with a fucked up back, because there were no beds available. Had to call my neighbours to come pick me up again (thank you Tracy, love you) because I couldn't get home anymore. Lost one of my jobs thanks to this and started a different one, couldn't afford live in BC anymore and moved to Winnipeg because I heard live there is cheaper. It is, but not significantly so, but you pay for this by living in terrible conditions. Rent was still high, salary was shit, the public transport system is.... Existent but not reliable and the city is so incredibly dirty. There's garbage everywhere. Between my apartment and the nearest dollar store was one garbage can and that was a 20-30 minute walk, here in Vienna there's garbage cans everywhere and thanks to them the city is cleaner. \n\nAnyways, I gave up on moving to Canada and came home. Still dealing with my fucked up back (though it's getting better thanks to Physio and a good doctor) and the debt I accrued in the last few years. But my apartment costs less than half for the same size, my job earns me significantly more money, my phone plan is better and costs less than half and the food is both much much cheaper and much much better. \n\nI am happy with life now. Thank you Canada for showing me how bad even other parts of the developed world are, I really learned to appreciate Austria while I was away.

I am a old white man born and raised in Canada...our youth born in Canada don't give a crap about us old folks...then these young men and women that come to Canada for a education and residence show up from India...and bang in an instant I am noticed...do you know why because these young adults were raised to respect their elders...they are hard workers (some holding down three part time jobs) they pau their rent...they are polite and smart...with all this said they are also humans who have a limit. If I was Prime Minister. I would Ban the immigrant Visa program for the next 10 years. I would deport anyone who has overstayed there welcome (those with expired visas) or are here (illegally) and now (not documented) \n\nThat alone would take many out of the shelters, homes, rentals, streets that should not be in the Country anymore. Leaving the resources and the people who work and volunteer for those resources to help the Canadian people (which would be the prime reason for this) Canadians first ! \n\nI would cut the Carbon Tax. Lower the Property Tax. Put a cap on all Strata fees. Lower the deficit. \n\nBuild more Hospitals and treatment centers. Put a ban on drugs and safe injections (as we know there is no such thing) \n\nMake it mandatory for those in need due to drug and mental issues (that have been diagnosed with such) to go to treatment centers (while building more centre's and hiring qualified professionals workers) to stop the crisis. \n\nChange laws on crimes and the time and penalty behind them. Doubling and tripling the time served and raising bail fees by 50% to keep folks that have criminal pasts off the streets <---- for first time offenders. \n\nFor those that have multiple offenses. Quadruple the jail times and put bail amounts 100% more then what they are now. \n\nGive those that kill, ra*e, torture, (and things along that nature (the death penalty) \n\nI would remove the mandate for Electric Vehicles for Canada. Where only 1 vehicle per manufacturer would have to be Electric. So if somebody wants it. It's there but the majority would be. Gas / Diesel etc. \n\nI would build more housing / schools / retirement homes / hospitals / recreation centre's / Library and walk in Clinics. \n\nI would write a law that the roads in Canada must be fixed properly. Not just patched. \n\nI would raise the taxes on Multi Million and Billion Corporations and those that make $400.000 or more to pay a higher tax. While those that make less than $400.000 get taxed less. \n\nI would Lower the provincial taxes by 2% effective immediately and the Minimum wage across all provinces would be $17.75 an hour for full time workers (over 32 hours per week) with .25 cent yearly increases until 2030 to be reassessed. \n\nI would give Tax cuts to those who want to open businesses and build and sell Canadian Products to make sure Canadian Goods are affordable to make. Still have a profit to slow down overseas production creating more Canadian jobs for Canadian People. \n\nEvery Worker that works 24 hours or more weekly is getting Benefits making it mandatory for all types of business owners to make benefits available to the workers and ensuring the plan covers a minimum of 50% throughout the entire year. \n\nI would raise the pension to those who have worked 25+ years in Canada and remain in Canada as a retiree for a minimum of 6 months of the year 5% \n\nShrinkflation will stop. Write more. Understand more. I’m surprised you never saw me. I’m homeless in a shelter and I hate this city.. well I hate all the cities like this. The people are heartless and sacred. The homeless are high and sad… I wander the streets like all day every day. When I have money I try to help the street people. Or I end up smoking weed on occasion. But there’s a lot of garbage and garbage people out there. I’m basically the rat king. I wander round doing anything I can. I’m pretty crazy tho I have bpd and doctors don’t really help anyone. I just live in the shelter and during the day I wander the streets trying to learn the city and help people. Sometimes I’m rude and angry and insane due to the state of the city and all I’ve seen. I yell and sing as I walk around just to hate everyone who is the average scumbag citizen. You know who I mean.. and I call them out on their bs. But only during my bpd episode or whatever. Otherwise I try to help all the street rats. But lots of them are helpless addicts like it’s hard to find the proper way to help. You gotta be careful who you help I suppose, because your good intentions of helping can lead to harming them. They end up buying drugs I guess sometimes. I am very easy to spot. Some parents feel that correcting their kids and teaching them some manners will make them submissive, docile and under confident. They fail to understand that it's a flawed logic. I am shocked to learn that people coming on Tourist visa (from developing countries) to Canada can apply for Job here and once hired can change visa status while in Canada. Never have I ever heard about this while staying in UK on work permit for 4 years that UKBA /Home Office has ever approved such low quality visa that Trudeau is flexible about. Neither Harper's/Kenney's administration (under which I immigrated to Canada back in 2014) has ever approved such cockamamie change of visa status. One day I overheard them in Chinese repeatedly talking about my country Mexico which got me to talk with them. They were quite happy to learn I could speak Chinese but more excited to learn I was from Mexico. They started asking me a bunch of questions about crossing the border into the US to which I bluntly told them I had no idea about and discouraged it. I asked where they got these crazy ideas from and they said that people were posting videos and tutorials of how to cross into the US online. The Chinese government hard handed approach to COVID was what made them leave. They wanted to go both for the freedom and economic benefits but they had a very naive and overly optimistic view of the US. They saw the high wages US workers were making but had no idea as to the incredibly high living costs associated with living there. I tried explaining that there was a housing shortage and that their expectations for life in the US would set them for disappointment but they either didn't believe me or brushed off my criticism. I also tried encouraging them to go to German or Australia instead (places which I feel would be better and easier for them to enter) but they seemed dead set on just going to the US. Unfortunately I don't know where they are now as Wechat is blindly and constantly blocking and deleting accounts in SE Asia without reason......................

Yeah it's not just immigrants it's also born here Canadians. We are tired of the state of country, our lack of freedom and democracy, our failing healthcare and healthcare facilities, laughable education system, lack of infrastructure for new comers and Canadians alike. No party in Canada, neither Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Green, no one really represents Canadians and really listens to the public. We learned there is NO future here for us or our family. We're done with a country that I pay taxes too, believed in, it's not my fault that I have to leave, it's CANADA and decades of bad policies, investing in wars instead of our home and people. Trudeau spent more time demonizing anti-vaxxers and truckers and funding Ukraine rather then helping starving Palestinians and Congolese people, families struggling here locally to feed their family, kids are who aren't getting a proper education, elderly unable to pay for their medicine or food.
