Canada has a massive immigration problem right now. There is a student visa loop hole thats just been fixed where people would get a student visa at some 3rd party “institution” then bring their entire family along with them on open work permits.

WE also don’t t have enough usable land to produce food, And Set up infrastructure that is affordable. We already have high costs of living in very under-serviced areas. The space that is already used for the population of canada is already over populated, and overpriced housing and living costs for our citizens.

This country has plummeted drastically this past decade. The immigration is absolutely ridiculous. Doesn't matter from where. This problem won't be solved until the Baby Boomer generation has passed away, but that will also cause issues too. We need to focus on our own before accepting others in. I hope things don't escalate like it is in the UK right now, but people are sick and tired of what's become of Canada.

As a person that grew up around Muslims and have Muslims in my family, the Middle East has never gotten along with each other way before the west came to that region. This is SUCH a puff piece completely one sided that dismisses legitimate concerns as the only reason being xenophobic......Canada has always welcomed people but it was done at a lot slower pace where people had a chance to assimilate and build a life. You can't add over a million people a year with different cultures and pretend it's going to be ok. Ignoring the massive housing crisis, it's a culture crisis. A lot of the people coming do not share Canadian values, period. Canadians are noticing a massive change in the country they love seemingly overnight. You go out in any city and you barely see white people anymore. It's jarring. It was made into an amazing country by certain people and now it seems new immigrants are treated better than citizens. Everyone is in favor of immigration done the right way, but that isn't what's happening and natural born Canadians have every right to be upset that the country is being ruined in a way they don't want.

If you travel through Indian villages mainly in Punjab, Mumbai, Delhi and Southern states every KM you will see study/immigrate to Canada. They will tell you it is very easy as you need to spend only INR2.0Million( CAD 35K) to get there and balance you can work there as part time. Majority of Indians coming to Canada is from low income families who want to become middle class in India . High time Canada regulate its student intake and restrict only to selected universities and courses and stop allowing part time work. High skill immigration is still ok as they are coming based on their merit and point threshold and definitely contributing for Canadas economic growth. Student intake must be controlled .

The Conservative Government lured educated foreigners to Canada with the promise of great, high paying jobs, and once they got here, once they left EVERYTHING, including their families behind, were told they would have to go back to school in order to be certified. There is a distinction between legal heavily regulated migration and illegal unregulated mass migration . In order to avoid having our visa applications denied, we always attempt to assure the officer that we will return home. You have no right to request a PR, an extension of your work visa, or anything else if you have made this statement of purpose plain on your own. If you're thinking about moving to Canada, always make sure that the government is in charge. When I planned, getting our PR was simple, and now that they've changed the laws and regulations, they have rights as immigrants, so nobody should fight against getting PR and a work visa, etc.

I used to date a girl who was an immigrant in Canada and it was incredible when I visited her the conditions immigrants (other than the wealthy ones) lived in. She lived in a converted basement and most immigrants lived in shared housing. There were homeless people everywhere and it was appalling. \n\n(Btw, one thing they forgot to mention was housing supplies being bought up by wealthy investors.)

For every hundred people who are looking for the same job there is sn employment problem. For every hundred people looking for the same apartment you have a rental problem. For every hundred people looking to buy the same house there's going to be a housing problem. For every hundred people looking to take the same thing as the other hundred people you have a society with a big problem. In many cities daycare is a big problem because of the number of new people coming into the country and replacing those who are already in line for social services. Language services replace the priority of local citizens who have to move to the sidelines in order for new comers can be equal but when too many people are coming into the country things will never be equal. Anyone coming to Canada must be fluent in English so as to not put a strain on local social services..

Honestly Canadian dream looks scarier than American dreams\nBefore coming to Canada in Nov 2019 I used to work in Singapore for 7 years. After migrating to Toronto I gotta do extra part time. Job to make the ends meet. I was blessed with so many part time jobs but they were all survival jobs honestly. After few years I returned back to Singapote to retry my luck here again and I got a job doing gov project.

kinda crazy that canada doesnt waste all their money on aircraft carriers and other military trash like america and theyre still in this predicament. I guess they can just import more immigrants to fix the problem
