Unless you are extremely rich, it is getting nearly impossible to live a 'good' life here in Canada. The cost of everything keeps going up and up yet the wages don't, and the jobs are beginning to disappear too. I just don't see any future here for myself and I'm making plans to leave also in 3 to 4 years from now.

The ONLY way you're going to enjoy life in Canada is if you are wealthy! The true reason is that canada as is most developed countries is an aging population with birth rate of 1.43 (below replacement). If continued your GDP will suffer because you don't have enough able bodied workers to support your aging population, just look at Japan. That's why governments are importing foreign talent from less developed countries to deal with this shortage.

For the past several years, Canada has only been a stopping off point or a temporary layover before you embarked on your next journey so you're not really losing anything. You're a citizen of the world, really. You're just basically looking for a home base of sorts that makes economic sense as you continue you're nomadic lifestyle. Dont be sad, you're not really losing anything at all because you can always come back and stay a while whenever you so desire. YES. US is far superior mainly because each state has at least some automony vs. provinces in Canada. Canada is now almost completely controlled by Globalist out of Davos (WEF, UN, WHO....). I actually took a course in university that briefly talked about gun violence, and the statistics for the number of mass shootings per year were extremely high in the US. (Mass shootings, meaning 3 or more people are killed by one person in a public setting) the numbers for US was over 400 per year and for Canada it was only 4 in a span of 20 years!

It's easy to immigrate, you're in the same timezone as most of the English-speaking audience (that makes the most money per view) and Mexico (and Canada) have extremely comprehensive tax treaties with the US and endless MOUs and so on, which make dealing with Google and the IRS super easy. Go to west Ukraine or Poland - you will be impressed how Canada is far behind these locations, and people are much better there.

I am also born and bred in Canada, I left in 2000 to the US. Had to come back in 2004 due to a layoff. Left in 2008 back to the US again then to Asia. I stayed in Asia until late 2021 and came back again because of the kids. However these 3 years I have seen this country go downhill fast and I really find it a hellhole and is much worse than in the 1990s when I was growing up. The cost of living, job situation, immigrant overrun, woke mentality is just horrendous. I am trying to leave again because I am just disappointed in this country and also exploring how to leave permanently.

Alina, I truly empathize! Millions of us Canadians do. While he's not entirely responsible for Canada's decline, Trudeau's government's immigration and economic policies in the last 9 years have certainly exacerbated Canada's housing, inflation, health care and cost of living problems. I don't know if electing the Conservatives will improve things much, but they can't possibly do any worse.

Left Toronto this year and now live in northern BC. Best decision I made. The cities in Canada have completely fallen apart. Small town life in Canada is still good though, and much more affordable. But you have to enjoy small town, country life. If you want to live in a city, Canada is not it.

I started making plans to leave Canada back in 2013. I left in October of 2021, during the Covid insanity, where the people and Government of Canada revealed who they truly were. It was the best move I ever made for my family and I. We are much better off being out of the shit-hole that is Canada.

I too am thinking of leaving. Sad but our governments have failed the people again and again to the point where it's not worth living here anymore. I was born and raised in Canada but I am taxed to death and it's tougher and tougher to keep the middle class status.

I think it is largely due to really poor and incompetent leadership and to some extent, a lack of independence to do what is best for Canada instead of another country. We are in the process of leaving Canada as well. Possibly permanent. We have come to Canada 22 years ago. We can live a good life with even one minimum wage when we first arrived Canada. It was a dream land for everybody. Today, we are double income professionals in Saskatchewan and still feel living standard is poor. Grocery price is 5 or 10 times as when we first come to Canada. However, salary of average family barely increase. The spending of government is just out of control and make everybody poor. Canada is on a rapid downhill path since Justin Trudeau become Premier Minister, I can't see this trend can be turned back in a short time.
