I went to both public and private schools in quebec. In public schools there was a huge amount of racism, especially from the French Canadians. Private schools were a lot better.

Bro \nAre you even from Canada? \nSome REAL TIPS \n1) Canada is expensive as fuck. Good luck on a minimum wage job. Don’t bother coming if you don’t have degrees because with such little population jobs are extremely competitive \n2) doctors visits and emergency rooms don’t cost anything upfront but do expect an 8 hour wait or 12 in a big city. Doesn’t matter what your “emergency” is... get in line. We have the longest waits in the world for things like X-rays and MRI’s. True story look it up. \n3) we have the most expense cell phone plans in the world with the shittiest coverage. In all fairness we have a small population and a massive landmass. \n4) if you’re moving to BC, car insurance is government run. So it’s extremely expensive (I think also the most expensive in the world) and it’s awful... so don’t ever get into an accident) other provinces don’t run this way. \n5) gas in BC is also very expansive because of multiple taxes, it’s affordable most places in the prairies though \n6) drinking is 18+ everywhere except BC where it’s 19+ \n\nSo if you want to live somewhere “nice” move to BC. but you’ll be poor as fuck. \nWant to live somewhere affordable, move to the prairies but it’s awful. \nYou can’t move to Quebec if you don’t speak French fluently. Toronto is okay and you won’t fit in anywhere in the eastern islands so don’t even bother. \n\nThe end.

If i am currently living in Quebec since 2 years, i can still apply for the Express Entry program right? And can still continue to stay in Quebec if i get the PR? I have heard rumours of rejections if you are applying from Quebec

I don't think of Montreal as primarily French speaking at all. To be able to get a decent job in Montreal, you are pretty much required to speak English. I switched to English a lot whenever I was in Montreal. My husband, who does not speak any French, was able to receive service wherever we went in English. The rest of Quebec is a different story, though.

I make 100,000 and I get 60K not 70K...it depends where you live and if your work has a Pension. Living in Quebec I pay one of the higher taxes in the country and a pension takes off several thousand extra as well.

I think it’s easier for Mexicans than Central Americans. In the US it’s easier for Central Americans, that’s why they are pouring in. \nI know plenty of Mexicans that went to Canada from the US or Mexico and it’s all great. Well, the cold bit so much, that’s what they say. I just visited some a family in Vancouver and another one in Quebec

I feel american, USA. But my roots are quebec. You did mention that, thanks a ton. If you are ever end up there I bet they look out for you. Just, what my family has told me some amazing travel stories back there. Maybe meet you in quebec one day.

Yes Canada is a peaceful nation. You did not mention tent cities in Victoria and Vancouver, B.C. In Canada we only speak English. Quebec should be their own country. I was in the military in Quebec for one week and dropped out. I got sick in the winter and I did not like how they treated people. Remember when your there you have to learn both languages. This is because of the marching drills and it is hard if you don't know French. If I was American I be happy and they only speak English. America rules!

Every day, over 1,000 Nigerians walk into Quebec and claim asylum status. They are put up in hotels and fed thanks to the stupid taxpayers.

I am a Canadian immigrant PR now but I actually lived and studied in Quebec for five years now and has built a connection to the local community. I even learnt French there.... The people who provide fake profile srsly make me mad and feeling unfair.

You say that both countries are very patriotic but I must say, as a Canadian, I really don’t see the same level of “patriotism” here in Canada than in the States. It’s definitely not expressed the same way. Maybe being from Quebec is influencing my view on this a bit haha, but no I don’t think I would have used the adjective “patriotic” to describe Canadians in general. I don’t mean we hate our country, but it’s not like at the centre of our thoughts constantly.

They should have dropped him off in Quebec I bet he would have learned French!

There may not be systemic racism in quebec, but there most certainly is systemic discrimination.
|
| 2020-07-16 | 0 |
Notice how half the video was about Quebec officials.\n\nSystemic racism is very much so alive and well here. It's god-awful.
|
| 2020-07-13 | 0 |
Quebec citizens has GREAT UNITY. And unity creates strength.\n\nSo i dont see racism goin aways that easily.\n\nOnly way to gain control on Quebec is financial strategies. Justin needs to learn that from china. China is good at that

I live in Quebec for 30 years. Racism here is hidden and personal but nepotism is definitely omnipresent.
|
| 2020-07-13 | 2 |
If a system fails minorities, is it Systemic Racism? Or does it require intent? What about the fact that minorities have different behaviors which lead to different outcomes? Is it the government's responsibility to ensure every group has the same behavior? How can we achieve that? Would we even want to achieve that? \nHow about Quebec, which is itself a minority nation, but with authority?
|
| 2020-07-11 | 1 |
Quebec has the most discrimination! It doesn't matter what color you are but if you don't speak French you are frowned upon. Race isn't the problem, it's the leftist putting it on the pedestal!!
|
| 2020-07-10 | 0 |
The only discrimination that I have felt in Quebec was when I could not speak French... so I learned French ... and life is quite chill now ... ??? I have felt more discrimination at my so called home country . . .

Here in the United States when we talk to Snowbird or tourist from Canada and the topic will come up about racism in Canadia, everyone always says Quebec.

Its funny when they bring up pot and say that it benefits whites when in reality its not. Come to the rez were I live near and you will see so many pot shops but when a white person wants to open one up in the city its a big deal. And the government won't allow them to open up a shop. Its unbelievable how people are so blind to see that the true racism in Canada is not between white or black but between French and English. You get paid more if you know French, its mandatory to learn French in a city that maybe has ten french canadians, look at how much more Quebec gets represented, if Quebec does not like something then it never happens, Quebec can ban people from wearing religious icons that are not catholic yet the government allows this. You may not like it but its true its all about the big cities and Quebec here in Canada.

Canada's biggest sport as of last year is basketball although historically was hockey. I don't know if we invented hockey but I know we invented basketball. We also only have 3 main political parties conservative, liberal, and NDP. The green party is more of an influential party and the People's party was a waste. The bloc quebecois actually performed quite well because of the dislike of Justin Trudeau although they only represent quebec

If your white but you want to feel discrimination just go to quebec and speak english. You'll never be more discriminated against in your life.

Canada is a well diversified country except Quebec who did stick with its origins and has become a thriving french presence of its own in a sea of Anglo adversity\nThe only challenges faced in Canada is by the original people of this country, who's resources including human have been taken away from them.

At least two more differences between the US and Canada (I'm a Montrealer myself with American-born parents):\n\n1) When going to the different parts of Canada, they feel that much more different from each other (in the buildings, highway signs, etc.) than the different parts of the US. For example, British Columbia feels like a foreign country compared to not just Quebec (the most obviously different province in Canada) but also compared to Nova Scotia or Manitoba, whereas Washington state or Minnesota is less different than Pennsylvania or Massachusetts.\n\n2) Native Americans (or First Nations, as they're called in Canada) make up a way higher proportion of the Canadian than American population, though less so percentage-wise in Montreal or Toronto or even Quebec City, and they are thus much more in the consciousness of the average Canadian than the average American.

I went to Montreal and Quebec in 2015 and the people are very calm there and the french speaking people in Quebec are a similar version of how Hispanics speak Spanish (Not being racist people just giving my pov of similarity)

ALL other provinces NEED to ENFORCE a complete BAN on any Illegal REFUGEES Trudeau is allowing to break The Law. So If Trudeau keeps Roxham road open then KEEP ALL the fake REFUGEES QUARANTINED in Quebec and Ontario ONLY! While allowing people who think Trudeau is a goof a chance to get out of the Illegal Refugee zone. All those who didn’t vote for the clown Trudeau or NDP are welcome in the west. All provinces Must fight back!!! This clown is killing us!

Does anyone care?Where are they finding room for the next million refugees coming in ? I don't get it.There is no work anywhere for these people.
