There is a greater entrepreneurial spirit in the USA, so you can get richer there - if you are lucky. That is about the only good reason for moving there. About 400 school shooting per year in the USA - more than one a day, on average. I drove down the DelMarVa peninsula, and the racism was obvious, and rampant, but Americans I talked to did not even notice! The healthcare thing is another biggie for staying in Canada. I know I would never move to the USA.

I'm going to answer this before even watching the video. My reasons for not moving to the U.S. are straightforward: 1) my career entrenches me here; and 2) the financial problems Americans face over the private medical insurance system are a huge deterrent. Other problems: politics is too polarized and too many guns. It gets tempting to move there though. You can have pretty much whatever climate you want (tropical, dessert, mountains, boreal forests, etc.) and it's the world's economic heartland. Things in Canada aren't perfect either. American median income is now 40% higher than that of Canada. That's shameful.

To put things into perspective Tyler, there have been 340 mass shootings in the States so far this year. That's more than one a day and is scarily close to 2 per day. Meanwhile in Canada there's been 2 (which also thankfully no one has died in and 'only' 4 were injured in each though ideally neither of these would have happened either of course). The year in Canada with the highest number of mass shootings ever was 2018 with 7. Since the year 2000, there have been 53 mass shooting in Canada. That means, in less than a year, the US has had more than 6x the amount Canada has had in the last 23 years combined. Almost all of Canada's mass shootings also tend to happen either directly in Toronto or just the GTA in general so, anyone who's worried about that in Canada can live basically anywhere else in the country.\n\nI have no doubt that the vast majority of Americans are at least decent human beings with a fair number of them being amazing people. However, if even 10% of Americans were considered crazy, that's basically the same number of people as the population of Canada. Canada has it's crazy people too of course but the chances of running into one is far less likely and it's much harder for those crazy people to become dangerous because it's harder to get firearms.

i'm a canadian. i perceive americans who are not working to change gun laws as suffering from desensitization (they don't know how bad it is) to insanity (they don't care how bad it is)\npeople from every country in the world think your gun laws are insane. you put the profits of gun manufacturers above the safety of your children.\nwe, in canada, probably get more news about your mass shootings than you do, more than a daily occurrence in the u.s.. i have read that the highest cause of childhood death is gun violence, of which school shootings are a small percentage.\ni lived for two years in texas (the things we do for live), brought my hubby home with me, and he did not return.

You being shocked that gun violence in schools is this much of a sticking point for Canadians, but consider in Canada we don't have:\n- Metal detectors in schools\n- Armed school guards\n- Active shooter drills\n- Even the discussion of gun training for teachers\n\nI can understand we humans can get used to anything and don't see it anymore. But any of those things in a major culture shock for people outside the US.

I will have to echo the sentiment and say hell no as well, not even thinking about visiting there either with how things are there nowadays, don't get me wrong we have are issues even more so thanks to the dumbbell in the pmo but still wouldn't considering moving to the usa

As an Albertan this makes me sad. All of the things people think are better in Canada are being attacked here. Healthcare is slowly moving towards privatization. Several of our political candidates are reminiscent of the crazier US conservatives. There is a pro gun subset that is getting more vocal. Our new minister of Healthcare is a pro-lifer.

Hi Tyler I have been splitting my time between Florida and Vancouver for the last 25 yrs , my wife is American and my daughter went to high school and college in the US. The years prior to 2016 the Floridians were very warm and welcoming every year I returned for the 6 mo winter season. After the 2016 election things changed, I became one of those people (an unwanted foreigner). I still have my place in Florida but it’s time to sell and find a place that is more welcoming. I read an article a couple of yrs ago that Canadians pay approximately $500 m a year in property taxes to the State of Florida and contribute millions more to the Florida economy… as I see it now the division in the US is getting to be to much. We have our problems in Canada but we let people live their life their way and I live my life the way I choose and accept people just the way they are.

We have a lot of things like in U.S. We have more freedom here, our children don't get killed at school. Public schools are better here. Here the prime minister has to be elected like anybody else. If his party wins the most number of places in The Parliament he becomes Prime minister. We have Laws for minimum wages workers... etc. It's safer here in the streets 24 hours a day.

I have two brothers living in the states. The one in Wisconsin is my big brother and he means the world to me. He does have his foibles about race and he tolerates me bringing him to task for some of the things he's said. He was brought up in Kentucky. He seems to be seeing the light now. I have spent time with him and my sister-in-law, and my nieces and nephews in Florida, Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana. We are close now despite being brought up worlds apart. My next oldest brother lives in West Virginia. I haven't seen him on over 30 years. He had a habit of moving without telling the rest of the family. I didn't know he had divorced and remarried. I worked for the Canadian Military as well as some of the American contingent where I worked. I had to renew information for my Security Clearance just after 9/11. He refused to give me any info because Rush Limbaugh was telling Americans the terrorists came to the U.S. from Canada (they actually were taking flight training in Florida). I suppose I could easily take up American citizenship since our mother had dual citizenship but I think I'll decline. I'm too much of a Canuck to change now. I don't think I could get used to politicians winning an election and immediately starting a new campaign. The process seems exhausting to always be bombarded with things politic. Here our electioneering is held to 6-8 weeks before the election and strict limits are placed on funding and contributions. Besides, I live in a small city of 58-60 thousand (North Bay, Ontario). In the close to 70 years that I've lived here, I can recall only 3 murders, so you'll under if I find mass shootings shocking and abhorrent and truthfully scary. I'm a little long winded today....Sorry.

I think you need to look at several things before you say most Americans are OK when it comes to health care. First, what proportion of Americans are NOT getting health insurance through their employer? (Hint: it's more than half.) Second how many people feel they must stay in a job they hate just to retain their health insurance? Third, how many Americans go bankrupt every year due to health care costs? (Hint: it's in the hundreds of thousands. This doesn't happen in Canada.)

The fact you can get shot walking down the street from anybody is enough for a no, and with the other things I barely want to visit it

Glad you mentioned racism: Canada is a ewhite nation because it destroyed the original indigenous population and i am amongst those that believes its far too late to change now. We nearly succeeded. Starting to protect other colours now and accept immigrants of other colors is a mistake. It wont wash away the blood on our hands, all it will do is make us uncomfortable and make fights break out and eventually all out war and genocide all over again just like what happened everywhere else they tried this. My opinion as a Canadian with no first hand life experience in the states but personally know plenty of people who do and follow many Americans on social media.\n\nI like to look at both sides of the story when I don’t personally know any better. First thing is when it comes to health care, Canadians use only the cost as an argument but never the quality. The only time I will ever use the government funded healthcare is for a broken bone. Any other issues my knowledge and experience makes me stay far and clear away from the hospitals. However I was talking with a retired business man who spends winter in Florida and he said he had a health issue while there, was referred to a certain doctor by a friend, made an appointment within a few days, not a yearlong waitlist, and with one visit had his issues fixed. Paid the bill and was done with it. Not a story of take this for a while then come back, come back to get referred to a specialist, wait a few months for the specialist, get an appointment 6 months later, and after surgery you feel only slightly better because in your mind you should be better. I do believe Canadian healthcare is low quality and sadly designed for the government to make money. American healthcare is private and needs to offer good quality services in order to succeed.\n\n\nNext subject is violence. Everyone I know and follow in the states have never had any major acts of violence towards them. I believe just like Canada, some areas are more prone to violence but since the states have 10x more people, they have 10x more violent spots which makes it seem worse. Rural Canada and rural United States seems to me very similar in the way people treat each other. \n\n\nI wouldn’t be scared to move there if that’s what would be best. Doubt it’ll happen because I enjoy having the amount of unpopulated area to go riding atvs, snowmobiles, and whatever else. Seems like the states have less area that everyone can freely enjoy but I could be wrong

Would not ever move there. Don’t even know when I would visit there again. Maybe I’d like to go (very many great places & things to do, lots of interesting history) but I don’t really want to take a chance with all the problems there. Probably won’t be going. Not to mention the insanity that has taken hold with so many ppl- crazy crazy times - I don’t even want to say I’m Canadian down there anymore because we get such ridiculous comments. I’ve even had people turn away if they find out I’m Canadian. Yes of course it depends on where you go blah blah blah but it’s exhausting & risky so really not worth it right now. Lol dont be fooled our health care sucks balls , try to get a doctor , near impossible, go to the hospital and a minimum 3 to 5 hr wait , and the amount of free drugs they give out we end up with drug addicts on every corner , so as a Canadian id say if your were thinking of moving here for our healthcare good luck .......id move to the States , i dont care for politics just want to ride my harley year round and be able to carry a gun thats freedom , if you like Communism come to Canada and bow to our dictator Trudeau ......soon we will have no middle class with the cost of things , just how they want it ...

Fearing for the safety of your children at school should be a big thing Tyler. How is it that it isn't???\nMy mom was a snowbird to Florida for 35 years. Loved it, still misses her life there. But gave it up. The health insurance was getting to be too much. The open carry guns scared her. She volunteered at schools (retired primary school teacher). State of Florida public schools appalled her.

Tyler, thanks for your entertaining and fun videos. My grandfather is a dual citizen but has never renewed his passport or anything and when asked to do so, he outright refuses. He says he hated living there. We live in the Vancouver area of Canada right now. My wife is finishing her registered nursing degree and we are considering moving to washington state, within an hour or so of the Canadian border on temporary work visas (TN1) for a few years. The main reason is the cost of living differences, mostly in housing but a lot of things are cheaper down there too. For example though, the costs of rent or to buy a house in the Vancouver area is insane - 1.5 million is generally a starting point. The cost of a detached house south of the border between Bellingham and Blaine starts around $400,000 ($500,000 CDN). If renting, it's crazy cheaper than here. \n\nThe area we are considering going to is very close to the canadian border, I've never heard of major violence problems in the area. Like one of the other comments you read, we're basically considering moving there to take advantage of a lower cost of living and higher salaries for a bit to try to get ahead. Living in the Vancouver area is such an absolute DRAIN on our finances that it is intolerable. If we didn't move to the US, we'd have to find another place in Canada to go to, but we do like the climate on the coast here. I'd actually just keep commuting to Canada daily to work in Canada since it's so close to the border, and writing the bar exam to be able to practice law in any US state except California, Massachusets, or New York is a pain in the backside to even be able to write it, let alone prepare for it. Just easier for me to keep working here unless we decided to try to make a permanent move somewhere further from the border.\n\nIf we decided to change our minds and apply to stay in the US in the future, there are a lot of the other considerations that other people have raised on top of my own ability to continue as a lawyer. Gun violence in the US is crazy, extreme polarized political views and increasing intolerance against diversity of race, culture, religion, (and while it doesnt affect us directly, it bothers us how LGBTQ people are increasingly targeted with backwards policies and by certain segments of the public), the health care system in canada has it's problems but it's also got it's strong points. We'll never go bankrupt because of a health care issue since we can move back to Canada IF it's ever a problem. Thankfully we are all pretty healthy so it shouldn't be much of a problem for a while at least. And we wouldn't even move there at all if her employment as a nurse doesn't offer health care and better pay than she can obtain here. \n\nOur kids will probably attend post-secondary (college/university) in Canada as dual citizens unless they get a scholarship to a top US school. The costs of post-secondary in Canada appears to be much cheaper than in the US and we have some good colleges/universities that consistently rank high globally.

A lot of Canadian YouTubers considered moving to the US if bill C-11 passed and if it starts doing things like forcing them to make more “Canadian videos” so that they can get Canadians to watch more “Canadian Videos” and other issues that could arise from the bill

I know a lot of Canadians that moved to the US because:\n- lower cost of living \n- warmer weather\n- better business opportunities or access into industries such as athletics, music and film\n\nAs a Canadian female living in Toronto, this is why I wouldnt move to the US\n\n1. Safety \n\n2. Racism\n\n3. Women's reproductive rights\n\n4. Health care costs\n\n5. Natural disasters- too many areas with things like hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. Even snow, there are areas in the states like Michigan and Minnesota that get worse snow than we do here in Toronto being situated along lake Ontario \n\n6. Lower costs for college/university in Canada

I live 20 minutes from the US border, I'm single and doing the online dating thing. I Get lots of people who live in the states because I live so close to the border, but I immediately reject them. That's how much I don't want to even consider involving myself with the US.\n\nAlso, I think you need to do a little bit of research about your own company because your statement that the vast majority of people have health insurance through work is completely wrong. It's less than 50%. I saw Ukrainian and Russian soldiers dying in war from the YouTube channels, the situation they were in is nothing short of living hell, for them the flight cabin is something they would dream to be in and won’t fight for silly things. I think people have become too soft to let go of simple issues while ignoring to get into big issues like questioning scams, government propaganda and looting at bigger scale.

A bird's eye perspective: A lot of these people are coming from impossible living situations, surviving under corrupt officials, and dangerous environments. They're desperate, and completely unaware of how bad things are getting here. It's important to remember: These are humans and neighbors. So sad because we Americans could be in a similar situation soon.

As a Canadian here are my views on the problems here:\n1.Government waste/spending\n2. Insane taxes, we literally pay taxes on our tax here. When you add it all up the lower tax brackets after their 15% gst pay about 45% of their income in taxes alone. Provinces like Nova Scotia are disgusting when it comes to the tax they pay. \n3. Easy immigration, we should consider immigrants based on what they can do for Canada, we don't need hundreds of thousands who can't work or refuse to work. It's a strain on the system. The immigration also artificially increases housing costs.\n4.Government corruption, it's part of why the taxes are so high. It's also part of the recent hyperinflation Canada has suffered. Just look up Trudeaus WE charity Scandall or SNC Lavalin Scandal, some even say Trudeau was getting kickbacks from the vaccine which I have yet to see evidence of but I personally believe it. \n5. Politically illiterate voters and propaganda, here in Canada the government likes to keep it's people uninformed and how they do it is through propaganda. The Liberals have every major news source in Canada in their pocket and in order for you to get news that isn't influenced by them you have to specifically search for them by name, those include Rebel News, TFI Global, and True North. Almost everything else is incredibly biased, they selectively report the news and in many cases outright lie. This causes extreme political illiteracy in it's population.\n6. Housing rules, here in Canada there are some really stupid bylaws like the main floor of your primary dwelling must be 900sqft in some areas, plus building codes prevent cheap construction of homes. You could have a tiny home on piers and it wouldn't cost much but because of our laws and codes it's impossible. You need a proper foundation, footings, building permits, ad in order to get a permit you need to submit blueprints, etc. You can't just buy a prefab building set it on piers and live in it. That'd be too easy, that'd make housing affordable and the government wouldn't like that. \n7. Woke indoctrination centers, The public education system here is all about putting in regular kids and pumping out future Liberal voters. It's a mess.\n8. You can't defend yourself, In Canada you aren't allowed to carry a weapon for self defense. If a criminal breaks into your home you are supposed to do everything you can to escape rather than defend your property. Criminals have more protection under the law than the law abiding citizens. \n9. Low wages, because of immigration wages are low compared to the USA for most jobs in most locations\n10. Thigs cost more in Canada than the USA after taking into consideration currency conversion rates, even things manufactured in Canada\n11. The cold. Nobody likes the cold for the 4-6 months of the year that the higher populated areas of the country have it. The more densely populated areas also tend to be the warmest. \n12. Fascist leaders. It's no secret Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are fascists\n13. Governmental links to the WEF, you'll own nothing and you'll be happy or so their add said. The truth is Canadians can afford less and less under Liberal leadership which is no surprise since Justin Trudeau and Chrystia are supporters of the WEF.

And what do you expect when the United States government flooded the country with guns so they could get someone they wanted in government so the United States government could get all the natural resources for nothing this is what happens desperate people do desperate things just to survive

All these reasonings are pretty tame ngl. It's just 1st world problems after 1st world problems. Even the speed limit thing. There's nothing wrong with 50 even if it should be 70. You know, I agree on that, that there are times when the road is so empty I want to go past the speed limit. But the thing is, that's just a luxury. You think that people should be allowed to drink beer outside, but you only say that because you don't know what it was like when people drank beer outside. And the part of Europe you're living in can have beer outside because they can hold their own and not get in trouble.\n\nRules don't just get made up, remember that. My advice for Canada:\n1 - obviously LOWER THE TAXES ! ... this is basically a SCAM! ... 30$/h may sounds good while in reality is less than 20$/h because of hidden fees(Taxes) ... Clearly they need help. We should help them. That's what America is all about. This is all because of Bidens new border policy and illegal border crossings are down literally 70%. We can't afford a roof over our heads. We can't afford healthcare. We can't afford school. The rich are taking all of our money and lining their pockets, the corporstions pockets, the military complex, the police depts. Republicans and corporate dems have been rerouting our tax money away from public education and towards private charter rich people schools for the last 30 years. Our country is in trouble. Rich people are playing monopoly ruining our economy and our society.

This is very biased in favor of Canada. However, I strongly agree with your viewpoint on gun control. Canada comes out on top. When it comes to Healthcare, you omitted that Canada is experiencing a shortage of doctors and the wait time for care is longer and longer. More doctors are moving to the US for better salaries. For education, the US system made it such that with a Bachelor degree you can get a good job. A Masters degree isn't required although good. Meanwhile, in Canada competition in job market makes it that employers hire over qualified employees. With a Masters degree you're likely to occupy a Bachelor degree position. I personally don't see this as a good thing. When It comes to political and religious diversity, it depends on personal preferences. Some people like diversity, others don't. I personally like conservative states. A 2021 report indicates that thirty thousand new immigrants left Canada due to expensive living conditions. At the end of the day, it is like the saying there's no accounting for taste.

Take a gander at any large, medium, and even a few small cities.\n\nHave you ever heard of Detroit (once proud home of my beloved Motown music), Baltimore (complete devastation), or Chicago (my home town—don’t make me cry)?\n\nThe entire homeless situation started when mental hospitals were snake pits and certain factions demanded that people be released.\n\nSure, it sounds humanitarian but they didn't bother to consider what would happen to mentally ill patients suddenly left to their own devices on the streets.\n\nThe do gooders actually were foolish enough to believe that the seriously ill patients (schizophrenic, bipolar, borderline, and plenty of others) would take their meds on their own. It doesn't work that way for patients who are not in contact with reality.\n\nNow we add extreme drugs (crack, meth, heroine, ketamine, whatever they hand out at parties, etc) and severe cases of PTSD/PTSS. It's obscene that we have veterans on the streets.\n\nHeath care--?. Pre Obamacare it wasn’t terrible but medicine had become a CYA project. We are so litigious (side eye to John Edwards ) that doctors practice defensive medicine and carry high limit malpractice insurance (guess who pays for that?). Every decision is driven by avoiding lawsuits, not proper patient care.\n\nPost Obamacare, US health care is an unmitigated disaster at every level. We’re short on doctors, too. Surely, in 2023 has caught a cell phone video, right? Where are the videos? Show me the proof. There is plenty of footage of BLM destroying property and injuring, even murdering innocents. Nor can we claim to have eliminated racism. That takes time; it cannot be done by force.\n\nOur economy went from smokin hot to dumpster fire in a short span of time. Pre election, head hunters were shaking the trees to find job candidates.\n\nOur unemployment is up as are our taxes with the stomping out of the tax cuts. \n\nDespite the endless sloganeering about how the Trump tax cuts only benefited “rich” people, it’s quite the opposite.\n\nHigh earners lost their pet deductions and lower income taxpayers were quite pleasantly surprised when they did their returns. The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? Lived in us for 10 years and also Canada for 7. I can 100% say that life in Canada is a whole lot better then USA. Although pay is more in USA, it’s quickly eaten up by all the expenses and trust me when I say you will spend a ton. Your entire city you live in will most likely try to eat away as much of your wallet as you can. People and going outside is just better in Canada. Usa really really sucks apart from pay, especially for kids unless you live in an expensive city. People are Riddled with hate and it’s not safe for kids to play outside because something is def out to get them. Usually it’s a car or a criminal. One thing I’ve noticed is kids in USA end up doing drugs a whole lot more, because there’s not much for the kids to do. Kids can’t spend much and can’t travel far or at all, so they resort to drugs. With my hs done in highschool, a huge majority of the schools were doing one or another sort of drug. Also I’m back in Canada because life as a student is just a whole lot better then the snaky system of USA. Both suck in their own ways though, Canada a whole lot less, plan to move out to an eastern country anywya tjough.

These people are trying to escape genocide over there with those drug lords. What there doing is not really right but they need to come up with a solution to the problem. If they join forces like this in there own country things can get done. Get rid of corruption in high places first. That's the problem.

We ALL, ALL OF US, even the DIRT POOR, PAY, toward our healthcare system in TAXES, but that only means that if you are ever in the hospital due to some life threatening emergency, you are NOT, paying a damn, ARM AND A LEG, sort of thing, because it's COVERED, THROUGH, the healthcare system. IE: It EVENS OUT, OVERALL! Why is it so, damn, hard for some people to get that?!

Not typically against helping people trying to give their families a better life, without the risk of being killed over dumb shit, but it's getting more and more likely here. Not to mention our own housing crisis. We really do need to at least get things under control for our own citizens before we do more to open up migration. Sure, we have plenty of land and a very small population for it, but it seems more and more that we're tumbling down a hill as a nation right now.

So this tells me 2 things. That the people have so much more power together than a 1st world power armed force. Border troops literally have guns and are authorized to shoot any invaders. They just don’t do it because nobody wanna get cancelled nowadays.
