The Permanent Residence Visa for skilled immigrants began as a paid residence to help Canada clear its huge debt burden at the time. It was an idea and some politicians said it worked. But taking in the refugees from failed States is another category altogether. Refugees from South American countries, Somalia, Congo, Rwanda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and recently Ukraine have put another class of social welfare recipients without adequate skills. Then the monthly child benefit encouraged some of these unskilled Immigrants to get more babies. BTW....I lived in Canada for 13 years but returned to Kenya 7 years ago. Also, as you rave and rant against immigrants, remember there are real White Canadians living everywhere in the world some entrepreneurs and some working for NGOs. Canada failed by not making economic decisions about taking in refugees.....it wanted to appear charitable without learning from the past.

I want to comment on something I heard Polievre said. He was mentioning a blue seal ticket for trades people who have migrated here, who hold a ticket for their trade in their home country. I guess Polievre hasnt seen the hundreds of videos on the web of the quality of safe work practice trades workers use in these countries. Their safety standard and quality of work are sub par and I think they should have to take the same training that Canadians require to get a red seal. I really hope they deport a huge number of immigrants for a couple years and then limit the amount coming in again.

The Trudeau government has been bending the rules concerning immigrants studying in Canada. The loudest of this group are foreign students from India. The conditions of their student visas include that they must have the ability to support themselves while they are studying in Canada. This is common with students from India, they lie about their financial circumstances to get the visa, then they come here and complain they need financial help. Why would Canadian tax payers foot the bill for a bunch of fraudsters. If they are found to be in violation of the conditions that govern their eligibility for their student visa, then the laws should be applied and they should be deported immediately. If they can't obey the laws and obligations necessary to obtain and keep their student visa, then it's a no-brainer. The world is taking advantage of the good will of Canadians, enough already. Send the liars and scammers home.

I know so many students who pay employers money to get their visa changed. They need to be looked by local authorities. Sorry we need the jobs for our Canadian people. International you have no right.

These whole Canada thing was a Scam from both sides. Canadian University needed Dollars from foreigners and the foreigners needed Canadian residency. Both sides never focused to develop any skill which can then prepare these students to participate in the development of the Canadian economy. Indeed most of them landed as low pay unskilled labours who then became liability on Canadians rather than any asset. These days you do not need a degree to develop any kind of IT skill. One get develop IT skills online free of cost or at minimal cost. Come back to your country and focus on developing any skill or if not interested in studying then do some business.

It would be better if they were allowed to work 20 hours per week like in the past. So, the local Canadians studying here are not getting the total forty hours job, rents increased abruptly, and wage rates went down because the students are working with minimum wage and getting the total forty hours. So, where would Canadian adults go for a job and housing? It is also not fair for students to work with low pay. Everything takes time to go gradually and ethically. Please, try to understand Trudeau’s points too.

Never mind they get spots in our schools at the expense of young Canadians who have to wait for seats in colleges and Uni’s.And since when do foreign students have a right to stay where they studied . Most Canadians I know who studied abroad were to come back home after graduation. Government should have focused more on loopholes, for instance, a visitor converting his visa into work permit, contract marriages, and entering into the country, on the basis of spouse visa, no basic sense, getting permanent residence card to useless people, instead of hard working students, who are contributing tot he Canadian economy, government failed to take actions becomes of community or ethnicity politics. Here is something else the people need to know. Any Canadian who needs help and goes to a service canada/service ont employment agency will be discrimminated against. HOW? I have a received there program viewer for training. All of them have elegibility where you have to be a newcomer to get into free training programs. There are acouple for strictly women and black youth. ZERO LGBTQ+. In 32 pages majority are for newcomers. Acouple open to all but they wont let you in bc behind closed doors there favoring in newcomers. Canadians who have paid into system can't get help bc all most programs and services are for newcomers ....and businesses are taken advantage of lower waged workers. Immigration is hurting the country too much because they did not plan and invest. Our healthcare is disgracefull. Canadians are being abused. We have a very bad government......More people are waking up and cant handle this anymore. Cost of living is very bad. I'm a white Canadian Nurse. This fellow spoke very well. I've always been pro immigration to mesh cultures and increase the population of this huge Country. However, in the past few years I'm made aware of the increasing violent gangs, theft, plagiarism, dishonesty, Indians getting managerial positions then only hiring Indians, cheating in schools, fabricated names.\nI have a rental and there was a time I chose what I thought a wonderful young Indian couple over 25 others looking. At 21 yrs old, she boasted how she and her Indian friends could trick the cash register at The Bay where she worked giving themselves 80% off everything. He worked for cash for another Indian. They were shameless. Who goes to a foreign Country and steals.

Canadian citizens born in Canada are not getting jobs age 19 years or so. If they do then they are not getting full hours, international students have taken up the jobs. Shortage of houses. rents have gone up exponentially. survival has become a challenge.

The students taken in by QUEBEC to be trained as nurses are complaing they do not get ENOUGH financially. The few CANADIANS going into nursing here have no financial backing. They carry themselve s through by working part time . I suspect many will not pass their exams anyway. The real problem is the middle class and small businesses in Canada. I was a PR in Canada and still couldn't get a decent job because of two major issues. First - language. I went to look for a job in so many places but couldn't get it because I couldn't speak their native language, like Polish, Arabian, or Chinese. Second - I asked someone if I could get a govt. job near my house and everybody said NO. Why because the place had a Polish guy in charge, and he is only going to hire his family or friends who are Polish. So doesn't matter if you get the best leader known to man, Canadian economy is doomed if you don't do anything about the middle class system and non-English speaking immigrants.

Immigration consultants IN INDIA charge ridiculous amounts to help people from India complete very simple application forms. These consultants in India are really the slave traders who find cheap labour for predatory Canadian employers. Plus only a few immigrants from India ever succeed in Canada. Yeah Indian students come to Canada and empty food banks intended for Canadians, occupy rental houses needed for Canadian families, and take all service jobs making it hard for Canadian born students to find part time work....
