I am Indian and the lady who was talking about adapting to the culture in the country you’re in, is absolutely right. \nBut then, Canada also needs immigrants and workers who can take up minimum wage jobs and most of them pay taxes. But yes, there are also antisocial elements that cause problems for everyone. Perhaps, to Canadianize the immigrants, the Govt can have cultural exposure and introduction classes. I wont make a drastic change but would definitely be a start. That being said, I am not sure how Homelessness and Drug Addiction is a related to immigration, I would consider it a mental health problem.

This is very ignorant. I understand that there is a very huge minority population in the community. However, these people were brought through by the policies of the Federal Govt. for the benefits of the Canadians. They play an essential role in providing and working in service industries, that white people dont want to work in. And as a promise of the multiculturalism in Canada, it is right of every person on this land to look any way they want, practice what culture they want etc. And the idea that this video presents as being white is what Canadian is very ignorant to the Natives of the land. Canada is of the natives and not white people. Remember at one point, white people were migrants to the country, did not adopt to the native culture and populated the area.

How about to require new immigrants coming in to satisfy some minimal obligations: they must be literate in English or/and French. They cannot come with a criminal record on the books. They cannot have chronic illnesses requiring lengthy or prolonged hospitalization, at the expense of the country. They must have some sort of vocational background: they must be skilled in a job or a vocation, specifically in cyber technology, financial arena, teaching, industrial experience above the level of manual or piece labor. And they must have some kind of financial backing of their own; money in the bank, relatives already in Canada with whom they might live and share expenses. Canada can rightfully close its doors to any immigrant with a prison record-esp. in violent crimes or theft; to any person coming to its doors with only the shirt on their backs and a large family, and to those who are illiterate in either French or English (or both). Nor should Canada feel itself bound and obligated to admit to its territory, as new citizens, anyone coming from an Asian community bringing with them a culture alien to the religion of its own citizenry.

Ukrainians also have the right to safety, security and dignity on their own land. However, when the war is happening, an opportunity to choose whether to leave or stay is crucial. If European countries didn't open their boarders for Ukrainians, there would be much more dead people. If countries around Gaza would really worry about those people, they would at least offer this choice, instead of making their choice for them.

All immigrants must comply with Canadian laws. Failure to do so should face the consequences of deportation. There should be no excuses. Thats a good answer but he should have added that it cannot come at the cost of Israel. Both sides have a right to live in that region in peace. Arabs (Palestinians) and currently Hamas have been trying to eradicate all the Jews since 1937 atleast when they made deal with Germany to do that. They need to make a choice to break the cycle and try to come up with a good leadership to declare independence and form sovereign country and live in peace with their neighbours.

Canadian Government lured them with the immigration policy to collect huge amount of money as a college fee. After they spend such a huge amount of money and time to go through the process, you are telling them to go back. It’s not fair. You can implement the rules for the future but not for the one who already crossed 80% process…. Im currently 15 years old. And i wanted to go to Canada for education. I never wanted to live in America, cause every day i heard about a pretty bad police and Health care and obviously people. \nNiether go to Australia cause there are a lot of dangerous plants and animals (Im not going to lose an eye to a bird, or life to a spider). \nAnd i honestly praying that to the time i get 18-19, Canada became better. Cause i do believe that this insane crisis Canada is right now, isn't permanent. \nAll countries were in a crisis, and most pf them got out of it. Like England, France, America, Belgium and etc.

I’m one of those new immigrants, originally from China. I’d like to share my point of view on this subject. For immigrants, sometimes the number one reason to move to another country is the harshness of their home country. In my case, China is not a pleasant place to live - everywhere is overcrowded, housing is insanely expensive, and job opportunities are mostly concentrated on big cities. So, if a young person like myself stayed in China, my only option to make a living is to join the rat race with another million people, work 60 hours a week, all for a 2-bedroom apartment. The minimum wage in China is the equivalent of $4 Canada dollars per hour. I don’t earn the minimum wage, but this should tell you how underpaid workers are over there. I’m ok with working hard and I have worked hard my entire life, got two degrees before 25 while studying as a non-English speaker, but I can’t bear the thought of not being fairly compensated for my work. In a freer and more transparent society, at least worker’s rights are protected. I could have chosen other countries to migrate to, but Canada seemed to have the fastest processing time and highest chance of accepting at the time, so I took the opportunity. I’m sorry for the Canadians who got caught up in a poorly managed immigration system. All I am saying is, if you are in my shoes, you would rather take this chance to move here - this could be the one of a lifetime window of opportunity.

This is just another proof that bilateral relationships between Nigeria and Canada or any other foreign countries. Until our leaders step up and treat us right, no countries will treat our people right. It's sad but it's what's happening. This same Canada does not treat their European allies in this way. Someone above asked why so much Indians. you see indian student's out there - yes they had to pay 20K-40000CAD FEES to colleges + now a days 20,600 CAD GIC to Banks in Canada. \nEach in total spends 40-80k cad. \n\nAnd every day from the tim cup , pizza/ burger to food delivery you see indian. Student/ work permit holders/ pr they work up to built our canada. \nTalk about health care ( Doctors,nurses,psw,dentist) Transportation, \nhard- cheap labour,\n IT projects, Constructions, mechanics....name it you have INDIAN playing a major role. \n\nHow did canada expanded and devolped so well ? Just think for one minute, what would happen if 1 million Brits or Swedes or Americans moved to an Islamic country let’s see they were able to sneak across the border and they all lived in the same area and then they came out and demanded the same rights and freedoms they had in the country they left? Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

If you are on vacation in Canada and meet a business owner and he likes you and want to hire you full time for what ever job. Immigration will say no to that. Not the right education, not the right age. not the right what ever. The business owner will only be able to hire you for max 3 years. Then you will returned to your own country. Then the business owner can sit there and say. Whaaaat. Why can I not decide for my self. Why do you now want people from modern countries that are better than Canada in many ways ? WHY ?. To want to live in Canada , you really have to love to be there, feel at home no matter if it is better for your finances or not. Now that rents has gone up to a level where only the wealthy can pay., why do they still insist on coming, There is a difference between having a high education and waste in on a coffee job/cleaning job/taxi driver job and so forth.

I was an international Student....15 years ago. I paid about 30k in tuition A YEAR.. I was NOT allowed to work off campus, i was allowed to work ON campus for a maximum of 10 hours A WEEK...in order for me to maintain my Visa status i had to maintain a GPA over 3.5 AND i had to be enrolled in an accredited institution. Our international student department had a quota of how many students they could recruit from every country... Rent was affordable, jobs were aplenty and when it came time for an Internship companies would come do hiring fairs and fight to get students to want to work for them. Now they get about 60k applicants a year that are willing to work for free and taking away from actual citizens.\nAfter 8 years of working and grinding and stressing i earned the right to get a Permanent residence...i had to commit 3 years out of 5 to stay here and work here and pay taxes for me to become a Canadian ...it was the proudest day of my life. I was filled with a sense of achievement that has been shat on by these students. \nIf you or anyone would actually like to talk about how it should be feel free to reach out.\nI will tell you this for free...if a Canadian Citizen did this in my country .. they'd be on the first flight home.

The standards of immigration in this country has dropped tremendously since Trudeau, this is a slap in the face to those immigrants who actually worked hard and earned the right to stay in this country. Who in the right mind would come to Canada to study paying so much money in student tuition and not hope to become a citizen? It’s not their fault that they’ve been scammed out of money and now kicked out of the country because of poor administrative decisions. \n\nDual intent (of studying and wanting to stay) is completely legal and worked for decades. I don’t see any issues here. \n\nInstead of criticizing the actions of the government officials of screwing this up in the first place, it’s a shame to see you demonize the poor international students that have been defrauded in the first place.

If they come as a visitor or on a visa, why would they get any rights to stay? If i travelled to india and spent a bunch of money, do i get my money back if the country didnt allow me to stay? ? the only people that scammed them was the agencies that are in india. I just watched a bus get dropped off at an immigration visa service place by my kids school. Follow the money and see the problem b who’s making money off of people from conflict countries who would do anything for a change of location. I’ll bet that organization making 10k a head so dam right there’s incentive for them to operate. Upsettingly enough they usually aren’t originally from here and therefore even more capital leaving the country under the guise of “helping” is it safe here , for now, but the only jobs available are minimum wage fast food or entry level positions. So only come to Canada if you’re good with paying more for less and then getting taxed significantly.

Please walk out and right to the nearest point of entry. Rules are rules your time is up. According to liberals parents don’t have rights in this country so international students shouldn’t either.

So if an immigrant can get a Canadian citizen tax payer funded job the government will let them stay. Cool sounds about right par for the course for our government. Imagine going to another country, going to school there, failing, then demanding handouts from their country. U mad yet? If the government won't send them home, Canadian citizens will create innovative solutions.

I am speaking as an Indian, who lived and worked in Thailand for 2 years, and now will be moving to Europe on a specialist skills visa. Indians as immigrants have been a productive addition to any country worldwide, compared to other nationalities. But the only exception case is in Canada. \n\nThe reality is, in Canada, the majority of immigrants are only from a specific part of India (Punjab), and most of these people are deluded, uneducated and unskilled. You are 100% right, they are not there to upskill or even contribute. I can bet these people have not even lived in big cities in India itself, they come from villages and small towns and have never seen how modern societies or even cities work.\n\nI feel sad for Canadians because most of this is their government's fault. It is the leading example of a failing society, which attracts the most obnoxious group of people from around the world. This is a complete political agenda.\n\nAll being said, even if they pay me I would never come to Canada.
